Chapter 004
Myra’s point of view I felt as the moment around me came to a screeching halt, the earth even stopped spinning, tension rose and poured into the air. My expression paled, my eyes nearly bulged, my jaw rotten to the floor and I waited for any pinch, invisible or not, sharp enough to snap me out of this dream. “Mate,” he called again, letting his voice go soft but still guttural enough to make me want to hear his voice talk to me all day and forever. Far from melodious, but irresistible. Wait why do I find him amusing? Why do I like his voice? Why do I seem fascinated? “Holy Moon!” I snapped back into reality, a mental calculation of what is happening right now slapped hard on my brain. Quick reprise, I got mated to Logan and got rejected by him. And on the same day, not even up to an hour yet I got a second chance mate, I got mated to The Alpha King I have never ever seen before in my life. I got mated to a rumored beast. “We’re mates!” I breathed out, l nearly fanned myself with how hot I’ve gotten. I stared around to see if any of this was real, but the reality stood still and right in my face, it’s just too hard for me to accept. All the eyes pinned on me didn’t do me any better. I need air, I need to fucking breathe. I turned around, and dashed right out of the hall without looking back or add more to what I said. I didn’t expect my eighteenth birthday to be this dramatic and full of twists. I didn’t care what the Beta’s wife would say or do to me knowing I ran past her without giving feedback to her about her order. I just need air and some silence. Good goddess, a lot was choking me back there. I got to the quiet balcony and ran straight into the mushy grass, the cold breeze whipped softly against my skin and peace found it way to my troubled heart. My head turned up to face the sky, smitten by the beauty of the stars that adorned the empty wide space. No moon lighted the sky yet, rather the stars were the bulb brightening the night at the moment. A stunning view to behold. “What is happening?” I asked, connecting my thoughts with the sky and hoped it could transport them to the moon goddess. “Myra!” A voice thundered from behind me, my gaze fell off the sky and straight down in exasperation. How did she find me so quickly? I haven’t even spend up to five minutes, or even four and she’s already here to pose as the villain she’s meant to be. “Yes, Luna.” I turned around, not entirely awed to see her standing beside the beta’s wife who had her arms crossed on her chest. “What did I hear about you doing?” She asked, daring me to confirm whatever was said to her as she began approaching me with threatening steps, her menacing glares boring gazes at me. “I was feeling a little unwell in the stomach so I had to ran out to prevent making a mess inside the hall,” I came up with the first lie that shot through my mind. “She’s lying, I don’t know what she saw or what she was thinking. But I’m very sure she disrespected one of our esteemed guests and decided to run out and away before we learn about it.” My bowed head sprang up, narrowing an awed gaze at this bitter woman coming up with a lie much worse and believable than mine. What exactly did they have against me? I came here innocent and battered, they could have rejected me rather than take me in and treat me worse. Sometimes they make me feel bad for not getting eaten by those monsters and rather enduring all of these. I stole not their husbands, or children, or wives, or clothes, or anything at all. “Why exactly do you all hate me?” The question ripped out of my mouth before I could stop myself and worsen the situation. But then it’s already going to get worse judging by the monstrous look that worked its way up the Luna’s face the moment she heard the beta’s lie and believed it. So I might as well get some words off my chest. “I did nothing wrong to you all than exist. Nothing at all, yet you all in this little bitter pathetic pack loathes me. Was there a life we all lived in the past where the roles are reversed. I’m the spiteful Luna of you all and gave you guys hell?!” Words spouted uncontrollably out of my mouth, earning various of expressions from both the Luna and her devilish herald. “If that wasn’t the case, then what exactly did I do wrong than seek protection and shelter? Imagine all you were doing to me getting done to yourself, or your loved ones. How exactly would you feel?” Emotions seared from my speech, and I found myself letting the barrier holding me down from feeling shatter. “I have no one!” I shouted in the Luna’s face. “My parents died, they were killed in front of me and those bastards were coming after me next!” Tears for the first time in a long time stroke down my cheeks in rumbles. “You took me and protected me from them, only for you all to become my hell. What did I ever do wrong! What?!!!” I yelled out in pain, years of bottling it all up coming to bite me in the ass as I fell to my knees and crying it all out. “How dare you talk like that to us, you ungrateful witch!” I didn’t care about the slap jamming my head as I was pushed to the floor. Again no amount of physical pain can hurt me more than I’m going through already emotionally. “I’m going to teach you an unforgettable lesson tonight. Get here and hold her up for me!” I heard her instructing the beta’s wife. Soon I was held up, my knees still on the ground and body held upright by the beta’s wife. The Luna sent a kick to my stomach, her strength causing the kick’s impact to create a concussion through my insides. She sent another kick, doing it repeatedly and ignoring the blood that started to paint my lips. “Learn how to-“ her words got stuck as she began gasping for air. “You dare hurt my mate!” A cold icy voice penetrated the moment, his mere presence froze the air and darkened it with his aura. The Luna gasped and craved for oxygen until he got to her. He grabbed her by her neck, “Your punishment is death.” And with that coldly stated, he twisted her neck, taking away her life so easily I felt premium chills as she fell lifeless to the floor. He moved on to doing the same with the beta’s wife who tried to run away. “Mom!” A familiar voice yelled, and a glance at the direction revealed an amused Logan running over to the lifeless body of his mother. My eyes went to him, then to his dead mother’s body, before trailing my gaze towards him; The Alpha King, who was letting go of another dead body. What just happened? The question rang in my head as my body dropped weak to the floor, eyes closing as I gave in to darkness and lost consciousness.Epilogue A Month Later. Myra’s point of view It all started with you, and now I hope it ends with you. I spit on the grave in assurance that truly the monster in my life was now feet deep into the solid ground. Oh no this wasn’t my mate’s grave. Heheheh. My mate is no grave at all. Nah I promised myself he wasn’t going to die, just like he promised me that he was going to protect me till the end. We kind of both kept our promises. Mine was easier to keep when my mother is the goddess of the moon itself, all I had to do was reach out to her. Then talked her into returning my mate’s soul to me, a soul she was able to retrieved from the underworld because it belongs to her. Logan was her creation while he was alive so she had a claim on his soul. Although, I had to sacrifice my immortality to be able to reform his life cycle like it once was. After he was brought to life, we buried the Alpha King alongside his whore mentally sick mate in the grounds of where they snuck up on us.
Chapter 116 (Finale - Part 2)Myra’s point of view Was I too late? No. No I can’t be. I ran as quick as my feet could have me hump through the air to his side. There he was, barely alive, gurgling with blood stained down from his mouth, to his neck, and all over his body. He was still conscious, a thin hold of his existence. On the brink of death. I sank to the floor beside him, as I worked him up to rest on my thighs rather than have him on the bare floor like someone unworthy of grace. He is worthy, he is more than worthy. He is my grace! I glanced over at the unconscious dead Lucas piled next to him. Logan did it. He killed him, he was able to. He saved my life like he promised to, like he’s been looking to do ever since! “Logan!” My voice sounded broken, like a harsh realization of what is in front of me. A reality I wouldn’t like to accept. He was in this condition because of me, he’s hanging on a short life thread because of me. He’s about to lose his life now because of m
Chapter 115 (Finale - Part 1)Logan’s point of view What was I thinking trying to reason with a bloodlusted predator? I’d admit my reasoning came from a place of fear, but I’d be stupid if I’m not afraid of him. Even with the weapon I have against him in my possession, what’s to say he wouldn’t have enough power left to blink me out of existence like he’s done before. “I’m going to enjoy taking away your last breath.” Were the words heard from him before he launched at me in an abrupt whoosh. A force slammed into my gut as I flew into the air, and another waited at the end of my projection to land me a stronger force. He punched me into the ground before he got over me and began to pummel my face into the floor I was sprawled on. There was no space for me to react, neither the chance to resist his attack and get away from him. I couldn’t utilize my psychic abilities because it would need my focus, my pure concentration that is currently out of pocket because of my face, neck, an
Chapter 114 (Semi Finale) Myra’s point of view For the first time in my life and I'm saying this because I've lived a miserable existence. I grew up a victim of abuse and mistreatment. Yet I've never been scared, but here we are today, tonight and for the first time in my life, fear gripped me hard like a vice at the sight of who stood few strides away from us. Even under the dark night sky, I could still tell the look on their faces. I’m sure Lucas would have a devilish smug face that hints on how achieved he feels to be here finally, to handle the fate he’s always has planned for Logan once and for all with no mistake this time around. And Lisa, she’ll just be happy she gets to be included in this, and if it’s her role to fight me then I’m sure she’s more than willing to cause some damages. I could end this, I could wish the both of them out of existence. Only if it was possible, however my powers doesn’t work on Lucas, and I think it’ll be the same with Lisa. The both of
Chapter 113Logan’s point of view Of course I figured out late that the girl we have with us is no more than who her father is. I may not have even found out if I wasn’t in Deena’s head. The memories I drowned my knowledge in later exposed the harsh reality that we’ve saved a monster with the same interest an older monster has for the fate of this world. I was going to tell Myra the moment I walked out of that door, even if I came out devastated and a bit swung by the discovery. Still she needed to know so we could plan against it. I had to stop myself when I saw her creeped out of her room and leaned over her doorframe to watch over us. I thought if she doesn’t know that we know who she is truly underneath her helpless facade, then we might still be a step ahead of her. So instead I spoke about a different thing with Myra, like how it’s actually my intention to make her stay behind, even lied that she should with the demon baby we have with us so the girl still wouldn’t have an
Chapter 112 Myra’s point of view “What’s that look on your face?” I asked about the sulked look on Logan’s face as he waltzed out of his room lifelessly. “How badly screwed are we?” I stood up so I could go to him. Tension oozed from him. It was obvious he thinks this is all for him to navigate, to dismantle, and sail over. That he’s shifted all the burden meant for the both of us to carry to himself alone. I rested both my palms on each side of his shoulder as I rubbed him a soft massage. “You’re not alone in this,” I brought to his reminder because that was surely lost in his head. “Good news is I’ve figured out a way to stop the Alpha King, to defeat him once and for all,” he began, his tone a reflection of his dark mood. “What’s the bad news?” I asked, seeing as he went silent and wouldn’t share the rest of the information. “It’s nothing. We should have dinner and go to sleep, tomorrow I’ll set out to get what we need to use against the Alpha King.” He shrugged out
