When Vincent saw Benjamin, he widened his eyes in astonishment. He even took two steps backward out of disbelief. Then, he began chortling in amusement.

"That's enough, Uncle Benjamin. Don't joke around. Everyone knows you don't like she-wolves at all. For the past 29 years, you never had a she-wolf by your side. How is it possible for you to become Angelica's mate?"

His words left me feeling surprised. I could only turn to stare at Benjamin in shock. However, the latter just gazed at me tenderly.

"Of course. That's because I'm in love with Angelica this whole time. You're the blind one for abandoning her at the venue of the bonding ceremony. I've waited 29 years, and I finally got my hands on this golden opportunity to be with her.

"Speaking of which, I must thank you, Vincent. It's all thanks to your stupidity that I get to be with the she-wolf I love. I no longer have to live the rest of my life in loneliness."

Obviously, Vincent didn't believe him.
