Prologue

2021-07-05 11:00:26The moon was full that night — when blood from the once allied packs spilled the ground. Men and women killed for the sake of following their Alpha's commands.
The Blood Moon Pack’s territory was painted the darkest shade of red. A sea of corpses scattered everywhere — including the bodies of the werewolves from both packs, as well as the decapitated limbs of vampires who fought alongside the Dark Crescent Pack.
The Beta Female wailed at the bright moon, her somber heart beating erratically.
One of the pack warriors frantically ran toward the woman, saying, "Beta! Please remain hidden with the children and other women."
The woman nodded as she scanned the bodies in their packhouse lobby.
'I'll never forgive him and their pack for doing this. It was the right thing for our pack to end theirs,' she thought while gnashing her teeth together, welcoming the hatred rising in her heart.
"Love," a man called out to her.
His shirt was torn and soaked with blood. A deep wound was present on his abdomen, and the ones on his back had already begun healing. He limped towards his wife, wincing at the wolf bite on his left leg. He took out a folded envelope in his pocket. "I got caught up in the battle. Alpha wanted us to read this letter together if the worst-case scenario happens."
Her injured mate was devastated at the results of the short battle. Although they fought bravely, half of the pack warriors managed to survive the wave of attacks.
Unfortunately, their Alpha and Luna were killed in the process.
She opened the letter, and in it was the familiar handwriting of the Luna she called her best friend.
'Dear Yvette,
If you read this letter, it means my mate and I have already perished as a result of my carelessness. I'm not asking this as the Pack Luna, but I'm asking this as your friend. Please take care of my baby girl. Please take care of her and let her grow up beautiful and healthy. Be the mother I never got to be and teach her the wonderful things in life. If possible, I want her to be free of the horrors found in the supernatural realm. Once she reaches the rightful age, introduce to her our world and ask her if she wishes to remain in it. If she doesn't, please let her have her freedom, the life I always wanted her to have. We leave her and the pack in yours and Vincent's hands. Lead them well, Alpha and Luna.

Her best friend joined the afterlife, leaving her baby behind. She failed to hold back the tears that started to well up in her eyes.
"You've always been so careless, Merry. And now you decided to leave your baby girl to me and my husband. I'll take care of her as if she were my own daughter until the day comes she'll grow and become a powerful person like you and your mate. I promise you this."

I grit my teeth as the man crouches in front of my cell, observing the very sorry sight of me. His face closes in on the cell bars, eyeing me up and down, sneering. A dark colored three-clawed scar is on his cheek, nearing his left eye. His entire aura is a darkened blue—which could mean anything negative. I stare at him angrily, not wanting his disgusting face near me. The man sniggers before standing up and examining Sandy and Valerie's weakened state."This is quite an interesting sight. Three Alpha's daughters caught in a bind... Helpless... Powerless. Oh if you all could see the look on your faces." The man laughs mockingly. He grabs a wooden chair, places it in the middle of the room, and sits down leaning forward. "Now, are you going to tell me which one of you is Alpha Rickart's daughter?"I look at him blankly,

In a small room dimly lit by torches sits an impatient man with a cold expression. His brown eyes stare coldly at the circle with symbols drawn in chalk in the middle of the room. I have already worn the white ceremonial dress on me and the brown gladiator sandals that had to be tied up to my knees.
