Chapter 3- She disobeyed

"Who did you say sent you?" A hairless man questioned Ivanna for the third time. She was feeling kind of wary especially when his eyes roamed down her body with a lascivious gaze.

"The Youngest Master of the Breguet's family." She replied, trying to hold his eyes with hers.

"And you're scrutinizing for a red ruby? The chronological type?"

Ivanna nodded her head, trying to stop the annoyance building inside her. "Yes."

The bald man gazed at her for a while and shook his head. "We don't have such an item here."

Ivanna heard a siren go off in her head. She knew such items were sold here, she had visited here with one of the special assignees. She couldn't go home without getting the red ruby.

"Can you check again? I know it's sold here." She requested, hiding her panicked tone.

But the bald man simply looked through a book with an uninterested expression. "We don't sell those here. Please excuse me, I have other people to attend to."

Ivanna had no other choice than to leave. As she walked out of the shop, she didn't miss the weird stares from people with strange appearances. Everybody around the town was dressed in shady attire, and they were sending her the creeps.

"Watch where you're going," A man yelled from behind her. She turned to see who it was, but she couldn't see him. As she turned around to continue walking, she felt a strong wood hit her head.

It didn't even take long for her to fall unconscious.

______

Ivanna couldn't open her eyes, but she could hear the voices around her.

"She was searching for a red ruby, the one sold only to Young Master Xander,"

"Should we kill her?" Another voice asked. "Or sell her off to a vampire?"

"I'd rather we wait for the young master to pass judgment on her. I've sent a message to him, hopefully, he'll come." A man with a thick accent said.

"But he never comes when we summon him, I doubt if he'll come this time."

"Well, it depends on the girl's luck." The man with a thick accent said again. He seemed to be their leader.

Silence reigned in their presence and Ivanna thought of many ways to leave here alive. But none led to the young master saving her.

"She's awake." One of the men said.

Footsteps trotted closer to where she was laying, and the next thing, she was pulled up by her ponytail.

"She's a cute little thing, boss," Ivanna studied the men with a hidden grunt. A slim-looking man had his fingers clasped around her hair.

"She is, so let go of her hair, you're hurting her." The man with a thick accent commanded. Ivanna observed him and noticed his sandy brown hair and slightly crooked nose.

"Shouldn't we just kill her and get this over with? Or can I have fun with her first?" The slim-looking man didn't wait for his boss's order and began to tear her clothes slowly. "Ummm, creamy thighs."

Ivanna wiggled her body to get them off her. Her voice was almost inaudible as she tried to scream and plead for help. But soon,

*Grunt*

*Slam*

The slim-looking man and other men with a grin fall to the ground dead, much to Ivanna's surprise. They coughed out blood from their lips as they died. She didn't know what happened as no sound came from anywhere or anybody.

"You really have a way of attracting trouble to yourself," An emotionless voice came from behind. Ivanna turned around and realized he was sitting on the vacant chair behind them in a relaxed posture.

How did he get there?

"Master Xander," The only survivor, the leader, quickly bowed his head with respect and fear.

Ivanna quickly diverted her eyes and looked at the ground.

"You summoned me, and yet, you allowed those minor toy with her?" Although his voice held no emotion, but even a stupid person could detect the anger behind his tone.

"I was about to stop them, Young Master, I wouldn't have allowed them to go further."

The Young Master picked a tiny stick and placed it between his teeth. His habit. "You've served me for a long time, Aleo, and yet, you aren't still familiar with my ways." He stood up from his chair and trotted nearer to Aleo, causing the frightened Young Man to shiver from fright.

"I apologize, young master, it's my mistake. I'll apologize to the young miss and beg for forgiveness." Aleo said quickly and Xander got near to him.

But Xander snorted at his suggestion. "Apologize to her? I'd prefer her dead. And anyway, you're free to go." Aleo stared at him with confusion. "Unless you want me to change my mind, then stay."

Aleo bowed and nodded his head quickly and ran outside of the room. Leaving just Ivanna and the Young Master.

"So…" The young master trailed, causing her heart to leap a mile. He leaned to her level. "Where is the red ruby?" His voice suddenly became cold. He sounded angry at the man, but now, he seemed to be extremely furious at her.

"H-he didn't sell it to me." She replied with an almost inaudible voice.

The Young Master leaned back and raised himself. "What did I tell you before coming here?"

"Always put on an emotionless face while going to such places. They know you're weak from your expression."

"And?"

"I-I didn't do it."

"Good. You disobeyed."

"It w-wasn't intentional-"

"That isn't for you to decide." He walked away, leaving her on the ground. She knew she had to run after him before he disappeared from her sight.

____________

Inside his room.

Ivanna continued to stare into space as she tried to form an image of what the young master would do to her in her mind.

Other servants would have been killed on the spot for disobedience, vampires, especially purebloods, hate disobedience.

And she had disobeyed. Not Intentionally though.

Just then the door of the room was pushed open. And no one other than the young master could enter the room.

He didn't glance her way as he unbuttoned his coat covered with red liquid, undoubtedly blood. He also removed the scarf around his neck and kept it on the nightstand. "What are you waiting for? Undress."

Her heart stopped beating for as long as she could remember. What was he trying to do?
