It was like a soap opera to the people, they grew even more interested when they saw Gemma. I hated the fact that she was exposed to their judging eyes.

"Gemma, come here." I crouched down and opened my arms for her.

Without hesitation, she ran with her tiny feet towards me and hugged me. "I miss you," she confessed, "it's no fun without you there." She stumbled over her words whenever she spoke but she still managed to express herself.

I had left her in a private room with a nanny because I didn't want her to go through the stress of walking around with me all day while I attended to my guests.

Apparently she had grown bored without me and snuck out. I couldn't help the smile that warmed my face.

"I'm so sorry my baby, I know. Mummy is very busy you know, but I promise you that I will be with you very soon. Where's your nanny?"

"She's sleeping."

"Okay." Without any more words, I carried her into my arms and patted her back softly.

"Oh I get it now..." Ella suddenly uttered. "You're babysitting for a rich family aren't you? Then you snuck out in her mother's dress and now she thinks you're her mother."

I let out a sigh, trying to contain my anger. "Give it up Ella, I don't have time for all of this nonsense."

I made to walk away from them but Jacob suddenly blocked my path with his body. His blue eyes squinted, his mind obviously drowning in confusion. "You have a daughter?" He asked me, not moving out of my path.

"Yes." I responded, confidently, looking him dead in the eye and not batting a nervous lash.

"So... You're... Married?" He placed his words sluggishly, still taken aback by the fact that I had a child in the first place.

"Why do you care? Aren't you married?" I arched my brow at him. "I don't have time for this, I have to attend to my daughter's needs so if you could just move out of the way..."

I didn't smile, I didn't fidget, I had summoned all of the courage left in me. Gemma meant the world to me and I would look anyone dead in the eye if I had to just go protect her.

"I still don't get it." He said. "How do you have a daughter? When? How old is she? Were you cheating on me when we were together?"

"Ugh!" I rolled my eyes. "Not now Jacob--" I made to walk past him but he gripped my hand and drew me back.

"You can't go anywhere without giving me the answers I deserve." He commanded through gritted teeth.

I struggled to release my hand but his grip was just too tight. "Ouch! Stop it Jacob! You're hurting me!"

"I want answers! Tell me the truth!" He barked at my face.

Gemma began sobbing loudly in my arms, obviously afraid by what was happening.

"Leave me alone! You're scaring my daughter!" I pulled my hand as I yelled at him.

I tried not to yell too loudly, Gemma was already frightened by the scene. But Jacob made it impossible for me to leave as he kept pulling me back.

At that moment, I wondered where my staff were, my personal assistant, my head of security, anyone at all to save me from the mad man holding me back.

Then a voice caused us to quiet down and turn around.

"Don't you know anything about being a gentleman?" A soothing manly voice spoke up from the crowd.

His voice was soft yet it traveled with the air, somehow overshadowing Jacob's and I bickering and causing the ears of everyone to prick.

From the crowds that grew apart to make space in the middle, a handsome man walked towards us, his aura like a king on a respectable carpet and his loyal subjects on each of his sides.

His eyes were the lightest brown I had ever come across before, almost like they were glowing as he walked towards us.

He looked exotic in a very seductive way which made me wonder how a man could look so damn hot in a suit even though every other men around were also dressed in one.

He stood out effortlessly, yet his face was handsomely delicate and accurate. I had never seen a more perfect nose and lips. The color of his lips laid somewhere between red and orange.

He stopped in front of us, then reached out and placed his hand on Jacob's. "When a woman tells you to let her go," pulling Jacob's hand away from mine, "you let her go. No matter what it is you have to say to her."

Jacob looked him up and down, the look of intimidation glaring on his features. He sneered, "who the hell are you and what gives you the right to interfere in our discussion?"

Murmurs began to circulate around and I could help but to hear the words; "that's him!"

"It's McConnell's heir!"

"Oh my goodness it's Fabian!"

Ella propped up right next to Jacob and pulled him back gently. Her lips were spread out in a wide grin and an awkward chuckle left her mouth.

"Mr McConnell, it is an honor to be in your presence right now." She respectfully greeted him. "My apologies for my fiance's attitude towards you, he obviously didn't know that you are THE Fabian McConnell."

At the mention of the name, Jacob's eyes widened and he forced a smile. "Oh uh uhm Mr McConnell! How could i-- I'm deeply sorry for my attitude towards you, I would never have guessed-- from your humble look that you were someone so--"

Fabian turned towards me, ignoring Jacob. "Are you okay?" His voice was low and soft, like fresh wind on my face.

I felt so stunned by his masculinity and gentleness that somewhat, somehow contradicted each other.

He was like prince charming from Cinderella, manly, handsome, all the right features, yet so gentle and humble.

Then it hit me. Fabian McConnell, I knew that name.

THIRD POV Fabian concluded a deal worth billions of dollars, finally. After months of chasing the contract. He thought he'd celebrate by going on early and getting himself and his wife something special to celebrate with. Getting into his car, he put the engine in ignition and started down the empty road. The road was free which meant he would get back home earlier. He could say everything was working out well for him. All of a sudden, the blaring horn of a truck from nearby almost deafened him but it turned out to be the least of his problems at the moment. In a sudden impact, the truck collided with his moving car with so much speed that his car tumbled upside down and continued to tumble down the road. He felt pain shoot all through his entire body before his consciousness began to slip from him slowly. As his car stopped tumbling, landing upside down, his lips mumbled the name of the one person he wished was by his side. “Blaire…” He wanted to see her one more time, to have

THIRD POVJane sat at the questioning table, lost as to why she was there. She had gone to see Fabian and he was all that mattered to her, so why was she being arrested? Was she perhaps doubted to be the killer? “I didn't do this! I swear! It is all Blaire's fault!” She yelled out for the tenth time. The police officer rubbed his weary forehead. “Why do you keep on saying that? You have been repeating that stamemt over and over again. How is she the one at fault? Did she try kill him?” She shook her head. “No, but it was her fault. He would not have even been in such a situation if it wasn't for that psycho's obsession with her.”“What psycho? Jacob Sylvan?” “Jacob Sylvan?” Her brows creased. “Is that his last name? Wait, Sylvan? That means he's her ex husband!” She gasped. “No wonder why he was so crazy about her! Always beating me up whenever I asked him to allow me to something bad to her.”“Beating you?” She met his eyes and laughed. She was going crazy. “I know him as “partn

THIRD POV Blaire was silent, it wasn't enough for her that they could not kill him for her. She wanted him dead with the hope that he would no longer be able to terrorize her family any longer. Debbie took her hand in hers and squeezed it softly. “I understand your worry, but I swear that he will never be able to hurt you any more. Just let me handle this, please. Trust me to do my job.“If you insist on not telling us, there is nothing we can do about it but I want you to know that if you do find him on your own and kill him, I will personally arrest you and send you to life imprisonment. I promise you that.” Her colleague tapped her gently, telling her she was going too far. But Debbie didn't care, she meant to go as far as possible just to make Blaire come back to her senses. “I get it,” she said, “you're being controlled by rage and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't. But we need to be reasonable here. Don't try to act like this, feel that rage, feel that anger, b

THIRD POV Blaire would never have believed it was possible to cry until tears dried out from the eyes if she hadn't experienced it herself. She sat in the hall way, waiting for the emergency surgery to end. It had been hours, or maybe that was how she felt. Her family and Fabian's family had joined her in the hospital as well after they were informed. None of them wanted to cry or break down in her presence. Not even his parents. They all wanted to be strong for her so she wouldn't end up breaking down again. None of them knew what was running through her head, moments ago, she had been crying without stopping, not even when they held her to comfort her. But now, she was as silent as a ghost who was afraid of being spotted. She just sat there in their midst like she wasn't there, her eyes staring off into the distance. Her face, once wet with tears, had become tired and hollow, her tears drying up on her face. Her eyes, as beautiful as they were, were as empty as an empty cave.

  • Your Honor, I Want A Divorce!   An accident

THIRD POV A few days earlier, Jane had met up with Jacob just to discuss a few details of their mission at separating the happy couple. They had met at the abandoned building they did before, Jane still didn't feel property accommodated in such an environment but she had accepted it.They were both seated on the sofa, drinks in hand while having face to face conversation. “So, that's clear.” He said to her, “But let me make this one thing clear to you, don't you ever lay a finger on her okay? You are, on no occasion, allowed to go physical with her. Do you understand me?” Jane pouted and crossed her legs. “I don't understand something here, no matter how many times I think about it.” She allowed herself a sip from her glass and continued. “What exactly is so special about this bitch in particular? Who exactly wants her back? Doesn't he know she's just a useless bitch? Can't we convince him to let us kill her?”She turned to look at Jacob, a playful smirk on her lips, but a hard sl

BLAIRE'S POV I rose to my feet and called out to my dog. “Downey!” At my command, he moved away from her and came to position himself right next to me in a protective stance. I pet him, complimenting him for protecting me. When I looked away from him, Jane was already standing on her feet. She glared at me with so much anger and hatred in her eyes. “How audacious of you!” She was fuming. “I will prove to you that you just can't steal someone else's man like that. Not while I breathe!” Without saying another word, she turned around and stormed off. I stared at her with so much surprise, I had never expected her to act that way towards me. I couldn't help but to ask myself, was that how I was supposed to fight for Jacob back then when Ella came and stole him from me? Was I supposed to try to kill Ella? Try to beat her up? Shake her up a little but enough to make her run away? No. This was too obsessive no matter what angle I looked at it from. Fabian wasn't even her lover, they
