Terrible Behavior

The crowd parted at the voice and a face I had hoped and prayed not to see walked towards us, a woman by his side.

"What is with all this ruckus during a very important event like--" he cut himself off, eyes locking with mine. Then a smirk drew his lips back. "Well look who it is..." Jacob sneered.

The woman standing beside him, my mother, let out a mocking chuckle. "What are you doing here? Trying to pretend like you belong? Trying to act like you can ever fit in with wealthy people like us?"

A sigh drew from my mouth, the last thing I hoped for was drama like this.

Jacob was putting on an expensive looking suit while my mother was richly dressed in a blue fitted dress. Her jewelry and accessories were just over the top.

The last thing she would ever want was to fit in and blend with the crowd, she always wanted to stand out and overshadow others.

That want of hers would definitely not come true here because this was my party and I was not going to allow someone like her and her circus clowns walk all over me.

"Can you all not just act properly for once in your life?" I demanded, feeling anger crawling on my skin. "At least while in public, try to contain your terrible behaviors."

"Terrible behavior?" My mother asked. "Ha! Like you're one to lecture on behaviors. What the hell are you doing here? Cut the act. How did you get inside here, did you sleep with a security guard for a free entry?"

Murmurs filled the hall at once, people who didn't even know the real story immediately judging me without care.

My fist clenched in anger and my blood began to boil. "Watch your tongue woman!" The words left my mouth before I even realized it.

"Woman?" She arched her brow at me and let out a laugh.

"What? Do you really think I can call you mother after everything you have done to me? You ruined my life but not anymore. I won't let you drag me down just like you did before."

Rather than being intimated by my words, my mother, Margaret, broke into a chorused chuckle with Jacob and Ella.

I shook my head, the sight of them leaving a bitter taste in my throat. "I understand now why dad left you. You're a monster."

Her smile immediately faded, anger causing her forehead to crease. "Don't you dare talk about something you know nothing about."

"Well that's rich coming from you who is accusing me of nasty things without even knowing anything about me! Your own daughter!" The words left a burn in my heart, making me want to break down in tears.

It always haunted me, the way she mistreated me, the way she made me feel like I was a stranger whom she hated with so much passion.

When it used to be just the two of us before she had Ella. How could she be so vile?

A hand suddenly dragged me by my forearm, shoving me backwards as she walked in front of me. "Cut the crap Blaire and tell us how you got in here. Don't make me call the security team."

My breath had become shaky, my hands were starting to tremble, my heart was racing, but then I reminded myself, 'this is your party, your own event! Are you really going to let them walk all over you like this while everyone is watching?'

Taking a deep breath, I felt my anger flow out of me and I could finally breathe properly. Unclenching my hands, I summoned a waiter and picked a glass of red wine for myself.

They all watched me with surprise written all over their faces. "How can someone be so shamelessly bold?" Ella spat out.

After taking a sip from my glass, I let out a sigh and allowed a smile to form on my face. "Listen carefully because I'm not going to say this twice. This is my party and I am not going to let you ruin it for me with your sour little faces."

Murmurs erupted like an active volcano, wondering if what I said was actually true. But the laughter from Ella made them believe that I was just faking it.

"Your party? Some nerves Blaire." She crossed her arms below her breast and gave a roll of her eyes as she spoke.

"What makes you doubt me so much?" I asked her in a soft tone.

Jacob suddenly spoke up before she could respond. "Is this it?" He questioned, his thick brow arching at me. There was a look of pity in his eyes as he spoke.

"Did you really do all this... To impress me?" He pointed at himself.

I blinked, taken aback by his words. "What?"

He scoffed a laugh and ran his fingers through his hair gently, letting his tongue slip out and lick his lower lip. "Blaire... Why would you go to such an extent just to please me?

"I know and I get it, you're still in love with me and you want to pretend to be something you're not just to get my attention. But none of it is going to make me go back to you because you'll always mean nothing to me."

I stood there, bleeding inside. His words pierced my heart in so many places that I feared I would drop dead any second.

How could he... How dare he speak to me like that? After everything he did to me, he didn't even feel sorry for cheating on me with my own sister!

Now he believed I was some crazy stalker ex? Me?!

I didn't know how to respond, my throat went dry for words. My head was spinning and I felt so little and helpless under the hundreds of eyes that judged me.

My ears pricked at the angelic voice that suddenly soothed me through the storm. "Mummy? Are you okay?"

I turned around, only to find my two year old standing in the middle of the hall, wondering why I looked so pale.

Jacob turned to look at her and then back at me. His brow arched. "Mummy?"

I swallowed.

  • Your Honor, I Want A Divorce!   Found your father

I turned in bed only to realize I was alone. Sitting up in bed, I reached for my phone on the lamp stand and checked the time. It was already past evening.Throwing on the first cloth I could find, I went downstairs to check where he could have gone while I was asleep. To my surprise, the entire house was empty except for myself. Jessica was still out having fun with Gemma like I had instructed her to but Fabian was no where to be found. I rushed back upstairs to get my phone. That was when I noticed a message that had skipped my eyes earlier. [In case I'm not back by the time you're awake, I got an urgent call from work and I had to attend to it. So sorry for leaving so abruptly but I didn't want to wake you up. [I hope I'll be back before you wake up but if I'm not then enjoy the chocolate I got you. I wanted to get you something as sweet as you but apparently it doesn't exist. I love you and I will see you soon.]For some reason, the moment I read the words "i love you" my heart

  • Your Honor, I Want A Divorce!   On the same side

THIRD POV Unfortunately, Ella didn't notice the change of expression on Damian's face as she asked him to destroy Blaire. She was too busy plotting evil in her head. Damian smiled to hide the anger rising inside of him. "And how do you want me to achieve that?" He set his phone in recording and placed it casually on the bed. She opened her mouth to speak but closed it back to think for a second. "Hmm… I don't know actually. Aren't you the one fucking her? You should know how to do it since you managed to maneuver your way into her life. "I should be the one asking you how you plan to do it. But since you have asked me, I'll share some ideas with you." She sat up properly and spoke in a calm voice. "Maybe you can find a way to make her trust you completely, then you can start drawing all of her secrets from her, starting from who the father of her child is." She squinted thoughtfully. Damian himself was interested in finding out who the father of the child was. He decided to ask.

I climbed onto the bed and sat down, waiting for him to follow my lead. But he just stood there, smiling at me. I couldn't help but to smile back. I tapped my lap and stretched out my hand towards him. "Come here." He chuckled softly and finally climbed the bed. "What do you want us to do, my darling angel?" He asked in a low and somewhat seductive tone that made my cheeks heat up. I couldn't stop smiling just from looking at his face. "I'm going to help you fall asleep, you look so exhausted." I cupped his face in my palms and looked into them. Fatigue was not enough to describe what I saw in them. It made my heart break. "Rest your head on my lap, I will help you fall asleep so you can be well rested before going back to your place." He froze, staring at me like he didn't understand what I was talking about. When he finally moved, he cleared his throat softly and laid down on my legs like I had instructed him. There was a hint of disappointment in his dark and magical eyes but

  • Your Honor, I Want A Divorce!   Alone in the house

THIRD POV Fabian sat down next to the woman he had come to love most in the entire world. The past few days had been nothing but hectic yet somehow being around her was just enough to bring him the long awaited solace he so desperately needed. He felt his heart warm up as she placed her hand on his and squeezed on it gently. It felt so good to know that she was finally giving them a chance. He hated hospitals more than ever. The fact that he had said goodbye to his first love in that same hospital was haunting. When he called and was told that Blaire was unconscious, his heart stopped beating for more than a moment. Several thoughts began to run through his head. Maybe he was cursed or something, maybe all his lovers were predestined to die, maybe he was not meant to love anyone because it would end tragically. None of it would have made any sense to him because he didn't really believe in superstitions like curses but if something bad were to happen to Blaire as well then it wo

  • Your Honor, I Want A Divorce!   I'll think about it

Her soft voice caught my ear as she spoke up after a short silence. "Can I get some time to think about it?" I nodded with a smile on my face. "No problem. Just don't take too long to think about it or else by the time you finally make up your mind, you'll be delivering that baby."She laughed, soft, hearty and sincere. Almost as if he had been waiting for our conversation to end, Fabian walked back inside the room with a smiling Gemma running around him with her tiny legs and playing like never before. Fabian's smile was no lesser. It was like he was sincerely happy to have her around him. I had never seen my own daughter smile so much before. Her laughter rang through the room as she kept playing with him. Then Fabian took her to her toys to distract her while he came over to my bed. He sat down at the edge and took my hand in his. "Are you okay? Do you feel strange inside? If yes then let me know so I can explain everything to the doctor." His voice was soft as he spoke. I sh

  • Your Honor, I Want A Divorce!   The weight of her decision

I stared at her, waiting for her to say something, but it was like she was waiting for me to do the same. The silence dragged on for a moment more before I finally cut through it. "You were going to abort an innocent baby?" The words left my mouth harsher than I had intended. She stared at me in the same silence, eyes falling to her fingers that fiddled nervously together. I continued, managing to reduce the hardness in my tone. "Are you okay?" She looked up at me, surprised by my question. Then she nodded and her gaze fell back down to her fiddling fingers. Thankfully though, there was a visible calm on her face this time. She still didn't speak to me. She probably didn't have any words to express how sorry she was and how much she regretted keeping it from me until it was too late. I reached out and placed my hand on hers, trying to calm her down. A sigh drew from our mouths almost in unison and she looked up at me and smiled. I finally had the courage to ask all of my questi
