My body went numb, the only sound I could hear was the fast paced beating of my heart colliding with a high pitched ringing.
It made no sense. It must have been fabricated. The door to her apartment was left ajar and I became hesitant to let myself in. But I knew I had to check. To see for myself. "Ugh! Yeah baby! Fuck me hard! Harder! Oh yeah! Ahh!" My feet slowed as my sister's voice rang in my ears. Standing by the opened bedroom door, it all played out in front of me just like the recording I had received. My knees grew weak from the sight that played before me. My own husband, having intense sex with my own sister. "Oh yeah... Just like that..." My sister's moans bounced off the walls right at my face, syncing with the momentary squeaking of the bed. I should have known, it was always her. It had always been her. Even though he proposed to me, pronounced his vows to me at the altar, promised to love me forever, it had always been her. Ella has always been the apple of everyone's eyes. Even at home. Our parents favoured her and gave her everything she wanted while I was treated as an outcast and no more. My body moved subconsciously, having pity on me as my gaze averted from the soul crushing scene. Tears clogged my vision and my heart banged against my rib cage like it so desperately wanted to escape. A vibration cut through the continuous moaning of my sister, my phone glowing with a message. [It must be clear to you now who Jacob truly loves. Stop deceiving yourself and pretending to be someone with value.] When I received that video at work, I should have known that my mother was the one behind the strings. Seeing her text now confirmed it. How could she be so heartless? Sending me such a video at work? And now a text like this? What could I ever have done to deserve such cruelty from the ones I loved? Who was to blame for this? My own husband who had been deceiving me while sleeping with my sister behind my back? Or Ella who had always despised me and wanted everything I ever laid my hands on? Or my own mother who always backed her up? None of them were to blame. It was all my fault. I had purposely ignored the signs that brightly shone at my face. When my husband suddenly grew distant a few weeks ago, hardly ever sleeping at home and blaming it on work. When my sister spelt it to my face that she would take everything that belonged to me. When my own mother told me to give up my useless dream of ever becoming someone in life and just live as Ella's shadow. I chose to ignore everything because I loved them sincerely. I so desperately wanted to. I was such an idiot. Five years of being a devoted wife gone into the trash like it never meant anything. I bet they laughed at me and mocked me while I was busy trying to be the best wife. How could they treat me like I was just a game piece? A puppet desperately waiting for its strings to be pulled! I wiped my tears, swallowing hard enough to choke myself. Tucking my phone into my bag, I walked out of Ella's apartment, the clicking of my heels trailing after me. I didn't know how I managed it, but I drove myself home safely. Tossing my keys on the table, I sank into the couch and tried to steady my heart by taking several calming breaths. Alone with nothing but my thoughts, tears shrouded my vision once more and I sobbed silently into my pillow. All my life, sadness had tailed me around. Who knew he would find me in my marital home as well? The sound of a car pulling up in the front yard drew my attention and I knew it had to be him. My heart was heavy, my soul was fuming, but I wiped my tears and sat up straight on the couch. Usually, I would run up to him to meet him halfway to the living room, but I remained seated. I felt my heart pounding, any moment from now, I would be staring back at those deep blue eyes that once provided peace for me. He walked into the living room, Ella's scent spilling from every part of him. How dumb did he think I was? That I would not recognize my own sister's signature scent? His blue eyes sparked with curiosity, his brown hair a little messy from his earlier "activity". "Hey babe, what's wrong?" His voice, once a soothing pill, caused a chill to run down my spine. "You look a little sick. Your eyes are puffy too. Are you okay?" A laugh escaped my mouth, a reaction I could not control. With a sigh, I asked, "where have you been?" Knowing well where he was. "At work of course." He responded, taking off his coat. "As expected." My voice was calm. Calm enough to scare me. I rose to my feet, adjusting my skirt as I did. "I'm going to ask you one last time, Jacob and if you have a little humanity left in you, you will tell me the truth. Where... Were... You?" "What is this?" He asked with a scoffed laugh. "What is the meaning of--" I shoved my phone in his face, playing the video my mother had sent me. I watched as his brow arched in confusion and shock then his tongue slipped out and licked his lower lip, with his hand resting on his hips. "How did you get this?" He questioned, slapping my hand away from his face. "What is this supposed to mean?" I scoffed a laugh. Even with evidence, he still refused to come clean. As heavy as the words weighed on my heart, I knew I had no other choice. "I want a divorce." He broke out in a sinister laugh. My skin crawled.THIRD POV Fabian concluded a deal worth billions of dollars, finally. After months of chasing the contract. He thought he'd celebrate by going on early and getting himself and his wife something special to celebrate with. Getting into his car, he put the engine in ignition and started down the empty road. The road was free which meant he would get back home earlier. He could say everything was working out well for him. All of a sudden, the blaring horn of a truck from nearby almost deafened him but it turned out to be the least of his problems at the moment. In a sudden impact, the truck collided with his moving car with so much speed that his car tumbled upside down and continued to tumble down the road. He felt pain shoot all through his entire body before his consciousness began to slip from him slowly. As his car stopped tumbling, landing upside down, his lips mumbled the name of the one person he wished was by his side. “Blaire…” He wanted to see her one more time, to have
THIRD POVJane sat at the questioning table, lost as to why she was there. She had gone to see Fabian and he was all that mattered to her, so why was she being arrested? Was she perhaps doubted to be the killer? “I didn't do this! I swear! It is all Blaire's fault!” She yelled out for the tenth time. The police officer rubbed his weary forehead. “Why do you keep on saying that? You have been repeating that stamemt over and over again. How is she the one at fault? Did she try kill him?” She shook her head. “No, but it was her fault. He would not have even been in such a situation if it wasn't for that psycho's obsession with her.”“What psycho? Jacob Sylvan?” “Jacob Sylvan?” Her brows creased. “Is that his last name? Wait, Sylvan? That means he's her ex husband!” She gasped. “No wonder why he was so crazy about her! Always beating me up whenever I asked him to allow me to something bad to her.”“Beating you?” She met his eyes and laughed. She was going crazy. “I know him as “partn
THIRD POV Blaire was silent, it wasn't enough for her that they could not kill him for her. She wanted him dead with the hope that he would no longer be able to terrorize her family any longer. Debbie took her hand in hers and squeezed it softly. “I understand your worry, but I swear that he will never be able to hurt you any more. Just let me handle this, please. Trust me to do my job.“If you insist on not telling us, there is nothing we can do about it but I want you to know that if you do find him on your own and kill him, I will personally arrest you and send you to life imprisonment. I promise you that.” Her colleague tapped her gently, telling her she was going too far. But Debbie didn't care, she meant to go as far as possible just to make Blaire come back to her senses. “I get it,” she said, “you're being controlled by rage and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't. But we need to be reasonable here. Don't try to act like this, feel that rage, feel that anger, b
THIRD POV Blaire would never have believed it was possible to cry until tears dried out from the eyes if she hadn't experienced it herself. She sat in the hall way, waiting for the emergency surgery to end. It had been hours, or maybe that was how she felt. Her family and Fabian's family had joined her in the hospital as well after they were informed. None of them wanted to cry or break down in her presence. Not even his parents. They all wanted to be strong for her so she wouldn't end up breaking down again. None of them knew what was running through her head, moments ago, she had been crying without stopping, not even when they held her to comfort her. But now, she was as silent as a ghost who was afraid of being spotted. She just sat there in their midst like she wasn't there, her eyes staring off into the distance. Her face, once wet with tears, had become tired and hollow, her tears drying up on her face. Her eyes, as beautiful as they were, were as empty as an empty cave.
THIRD POV A few days earlier, Jane had met up with Jacob just to discuss a few details of their mission at separating the happy couple. They had met at the abandoned building they did before, Jane still didn't feel property accommodated in such an environment but she had accepted it.They were both seated on the sofa, drinks in hand while having face to face conversation. “So, that's clear.” He said to her, “But let me make this one thing clear to you, don't you ever lay a finger on her okay? You are, on no occasion, allowed to go physical with her. Do you understand me?” Jane pouted and crossed her legs. “I don't understand something here, no matter how many times I think about it.” She allowed herself a sip from her glass and continued. “What exactly is so special about this bitch in particular? Who exactly wants her back? Doesn't he know she's just a useless bitch? Can't we convince him to let us kill her?”She turned to look at Jacob, a playful smirk on her lips, but a hard sl
BLAIRE'S POV I rose to my feet and called out to my dog. “Downey!” At my command, he moved away from her and came to position himself right next to me in a protective stance. I pet him, complimenting him for protecting me. When I looked away from him, Jane was already standing on her feet. She glared at me with so much anger and hatred in her eyes. “How audacious of you!” She was fuming. “I will prove to you that you just can't steal someone else's man like that. Not while I breathe!” Without saying another word, she turned around and stormed off. I stared at her with so much surprise, I had never expected her to act that way towards me. I couldn't help but to ask myself, was that how I was supposed to fight for Jacob back then when Ella came and stole him from me? Was I supposed to try to kill Ella? Try to beat her up? Shake her up a little but enough to make her run away? No. This was too obsessive no matter what angle I looked at it from. Fabian wasn't even her lover, they
