I felt as if a huge time bomb was growing ever larger around me, threatening to wipe out every part of my life, including my soul.

The darkness around me was not helping me, on the contrary, a bubble of nerves enveloped me as if it had trapped me in my place.

None of that would be happening if I had controlled myself; none of that would be happening if I hadn't wanted to travel to Vegas; my fiancé wouldn't be traveling to the world's worst nightmare if I had told him the truth from the beginning; my friends wouldn't be missing if I had had a clear mind; none of what Lev and I went through in two days would have happened if I had woven the consequences clearly.

What did they want from me?

They didn't even love me and resisting them only caused more problems. My worried fiancé was about to find out for himself the mistake he had made and his life would probably be in danger too.
