CHAPTER 32: SONIA IS TAKEN.

  Sonia bit her lower lips, holding the smile back. He chuckled, then he asked again. “ Do you mind if I. . .” He was interrupted by the sound of his ringtone.

  He checked on his dialer, it was one of his business partners. “ Give me a second.” He excused himself.

  Sonia sat alone, slowly sipping on her drink. It was much harder than the whiskey she had drunk. She held the glass cup in her hand, staring around the room when someone came to sit on Luci’s chair.

  “ Someone owns that chair.” She informed him.

  “ I know. But he’s out, isn’t he?” He asked.

  “ For a while. He’s on a call but he’ll be back soon.”

  “ Well, while he’s out on his sweet call, why don’t I keep you company in his place.” He said.

  “ Thanks, but I can wait.” She insists.

  “ Don’t worry, I ain’t staying for a long while. I will even leave before he shows up.”

  Sonia was growing uncomfortable in his presence. She was looking around, praying earnestly that Luci would show up and distract their conversation.
