LILIANA'S POV

“Who are you talking to?” Taryn's voice came from behind me and my wolf whimpered in fear while I turned, trying to look as calm as possible.

"It was Mabel checking on me. You know how she is," I said with the biggest grin stepping closer to him. I could tell he had not bought anything I said and his expression took a darker tone.

“Give me the phone.”

“No,” I said quickly, backing up. “It’s private.”

“Liliana!" He yelled lunging at me. He grabbed my wrist, holding it tightly and even though I tried to fight I watched him pry the phone out of my hands.

“Taryn, stop—just give it back!”

He didn’t. He shoved me, not enough to hurt but enough to send me stumbling against the desk. My hand caught the edge and I took deep breaths trying to ignore how hard my heart was beating.

The recording concerning everything Justin and I had just discussed last filled my ears—and I just stared at the ground hoping it would open up and swallow me.

He didn't say a word and I watched his jaw tightened, his face slowly going white as he understood what was happening.

My stomach dropped.I could see it—the shift in his eyes. "So what's this about Liliana? You're divorcing me?"

Taryn stared at me again then at me and to my shock he let out a loud chuckle. That dry, mocking kind of laugh that made my blood boil.

“Oh, come on,” he said, waving the phone like it was some kind of joke. “You’re not serious. Divorce? What is this, payback for something? Some sick little prank?”

I didn’t say anything trying my best to push back a heavy sob. He looked at me again. That smile was gone now and he looked ready to devour me. “Ana. You’re joking, right?”

“No,” I said quietly. “I’m not.”

He stared at me and I watched his face slowly darken. One second. Two. Then it hit him, full-force.

"What the fuck is this supposed to be?" He yelled, punching the wall so hard I flinched. "You think you can leave? Just like that? You’ve lost your damn mind.”

Those words seemed to hit a button and my rage came flooding back. “Oh please,” I snapped. "You're so fucking dump if you actually think I was going to stay with you after all I saw."

He flinched. Just slightly. “You were supposed to be out,” he muttered—only to pause probably realizing that he had just sold himself out.

"Baby, you can't leave me. I made a mistake," he pleaded, grabbing my hands and I yanked them out like he had leprosy.

“Oh goddess," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. “Romantic.”

“You can’t leave me,” he growled and I crossed my arms staring at him with a bored expression. “You wouldn’t survive a day out there without me. You’re nothing—”

"Oh ple—" I had not even finished when he wrapped his hand around my throat slamming me against the wall. His face barely an inch away.

“You leave me, I’ll make this whole pack your personal hell,” he said. “You’ll wish you’d never opened that pretty little mouth.”

“You done?” I asked, trying to sound brave even though my back felt like it had been snapped in two.

He looked like he had more to say but instead he stormed out. Letting out a tired sigh I picked up my phone.

“Justin, file the papers.”

I ran a hand through my hair walking out the door and towards the ballroom in hopes of fixing whatever Taryn might have ruined.

I walked in just in time to catch a blood hungry glare from him. I tried to tell myself that his threats were all empty but that didn't stop my heart from pounding as he walked up to the stage.

He wasn’t supposed to. That was Darain’s spotlight. He had worked so hard for the pack but then again Taryn could never let someone be the center of attention.

My wolf whimpered in fear as we watched people try to drag him back but he all waved them off. A few muttered. Someone even called his name, trying to stop him. He ignored them, grabbing the mic with a menacing smirk.

"Everyone," he said, those brown eyes glinting. "let’s welcome our Alpha back. My big brother. The man who left us in capable hands—mine, of course."

A few people chuckled awkwardly and I stood there hoping a boulder would fall from the sky and crush him.

"He's been so good and for that I hope he gets the best in life." He paused and the crowd cheered. "I hope he finds a Luna who’s loyal. Devoted. Someone who doesn’t spread her legs or emotions for anyone who shows her attention."

Silence followed and I could tell what was coming next.

"Like my mate," he said. "Liliana."

"She’s been emotionally involved with one of my employees. My driver, actually." He pulled out his phone, waved it like some damn trophy. "Got the texts to prove it."

I felt sweat slide down my back and I stood frozen while everyone whispered and threw glares at me. The one person who didn't was Darian who just glared at Taryn.

"The threats weren't empty," my wolf, Nayla whimpered and I knew—this was only the beginning.

As if it couldn't get worse, the Alpha got up and I watched him trying to pull Taryn away. I watched his eyes redden with anger as he tried to whisper something but Taryn wasn’t hearing any of it.

He yanked his arm free from Darian’s grip like he’d just touched fire, straightened his suit and kept going like this was some award speech he was giving.

"Ungrateful," he spat, running a hand through his chest nut with a look like I had destroyed him. "I gave you everything, Liliana. Everything. And this is how you repay me? Emotional affair? With my own driver?"

I felt like the ground under me was crumbling. People weren’t just watching anymore, they all turned to me giving me disgusted looks and I could hear some of the words they threw.

Darian called the guards to take him off the stage, but it was already too late. The damage was done. The story had been told—the version he wanted them to believe.

I tried to speak. Tried to get someone, anyone, to look at me. "He’s lying," I whispered. Then louder, "He cheated on me! I saw him. With someone else—"

I tried to explain but no one was listening. Their glares cut through me, staring at me like I was dirt. A wolf cheating on her mate? It was taboo. Sacred bonds weren’t supposed to be broken. Heck, we weren't even supposed to crack—he did it and now I was here paying the prize.

I stood still trying to absorb all of what had just happened when he walked down the stairs and towards a woman. Slim, tall and dark blonde she was the one I had caught him with earlier. He grabbed her by the waist and kissed her like he didn’t just ruin me minutes ago.

Anyone with a fucking brain could price everything together in a matter of second s but no one bothered. My chest felt too heavy and with a defeated look I turned walking out of the building.

Unable to take it any longer, I pulled out my phone dialing for the driver but I kept going to voicemail. That bastard Taryn must’ve ordered him to block my number.

Rage coursed through my veins so much that I almost smashed my phone on the floor but I was only going to lose. Maybe look like a crazy bitch. So with a growing ache in my chest I pulled my heels off and walked.

By the time I got to the house, my feet were raw and all I wanted was to shower, breathe, and get my damn things. But the second I stepped toward the door, two guards moved in front of me like I was some intruder.

"Ma'am, Alpha Taryn said you’re not allowed in."

I laughed, pushing the rough strands of hair behind my ears. “You’re joking, right?”

I waited for an answer but they only exchanged looks then stared at me. My eyes began to sting and I took another breath.

“Just let me grab my things.”

“Taryn’s orders. You can't come in," the dark skinned one repeated and I felt the urge to pull his head off. "You have to let me in. I bought this house with him."

They just stared back with pity and it felt like I was going crazy. Taking a deep breath I turned away trying to book a hotel at least for the night but I felt my face go cold as I logged into my back app.

The joint accounts had been emptied leaving me with nothing.

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna    THE MAN WHO IS SUPPOSED TO DIE

LILIAN'S POV Marcus Vale waited beneath the Eternal Rose as if he had anticipated our arrival the entire time. The dim glow caught the silver band on his finger, verifying what had already been depicted in the photograph. Standing before us was the former Beta, thought to have perished years prior. Now, he appeared older and more unfeeling, his faint smile twisting my stomach into knots. Darian instinctively stepped in front of me. "Marcus." The man’s smile broadened. "Alpha Darian." "You were deemed dead." "True." He cast a side glance at Taryn. "At least, that’s what those wanting me gone reported." With eyes wide, Taryn exclaimed, "You were present." Marcus turned his gaze to him. "Of course I was." The tension in Taryn's face grew tighter. "I recall you." "You should." Marcus began to ascend the stairs. "Though merely a child, you held onto more than we anticipated." Adrian shifted closer, murmuring, "Stay behind me." Marcus chuckled softly. "Still playing the protector." Adri

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna    THE ROSE REMEMBERS

LILIAN'S POV We arrived back at Blood Veil just before dawn. For the majority of the journey, there was a heavy silence, not due to a lack of inquiries, but rather because there were far too many unasked. Though we had crossed the northern border, threats still lingered, perhaps even more palpable now. Sitting next to Darian in the carriage, I looked out at the familiar trees drifting by outside. Only a few months prior, the thought of returning to Blood Veil would have filled me with apprehension. This was the place where I had faced public rejection, lost all my belongings, and been cast out onto the streets. Now, I returned with a letter from my father pressed close to my chest, a pendant belonging to my mother hanging around my neck, and a brother I had only just learned existed a few hours ago. I was no longer the same woman who had departed. Darian noticed my contemplative silence. “You’re thinking about Taryn.” I turned to him. “I’m reflecting on the woman I once was.” His

My hands shook as I extended them toward the letter. I recognized that handwriting. I had seen it among the limited documents my family preserved after my parents passed away, but encountering it now felt distinct. This was not an old note or a family archive. My father crafted these words with the awareness that one day I might come across them, anticipating that I could finally learn the truth about my family. Darian was standing next to me, observing closely yet choosing not to intervene. I broke the seal. As the paper opened, a soft crackling sound emerged, revealing my father's recognizable handwriting on the page. My dear Liliana, if you are reading this, then the unthinkable has occurred. My sight blurred instantly. I can only guess how old you will be when you stumble upon this letter. I cannot say whether I will still be alive. However, I must convey one crucial message before you accept anyone's interpretation of our narrative. Your mother and I never left you behind. A t

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna    THE FOUNDERS SECRET

LILIAN'S POV William’s voice resonated throughout the room, composed and nearly soothing in spite of the armed wolves flanking him. My gaze fell on the dark book lying upon the stone surface. The rose that was engraved on its front appeared to vibrate slightly under the soft crimson glow emanating from the blood seal. For twenty-one years, I had received fragments of my parents' narrative. They had perished during an attack by rogue wolves. They were simply unfortunate. There was nothing that could have been done. Those were the phrases I had repeatedly heard throughout my upbringing. Yet each discovery we made dismantled another section of that narrative. My father had anticipated the threat ahead. My mother had withstood the onslaught. Adrian had been abducted. The Grey Wardens were pursued. William had orchestrated everything from behind the scenes. And now this book was said to hold the reason for my mother’s demise. I turned my attention to William. "You want me to open this

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna    THE BLOOD SEAL

LILIAN'S POV The words were completely incomprehensible. "What do you mean, our lineage isn't what everyone thought?" I inquired. Taryn’s eyes turned to Darian for a moment before settling back on me. "I’m not privy to the full story. William concealed much of it, even from the council. However, your mother uncovered something in the original documents." Adrian moved closer. "What did she find?" Taryn paused. "The first Alpha of Blood Veil was not merely an ordinary werewolf." Gabriel's face shifted instantly. "Be cautious." Taryn disregarded him. "He possessed a rare bloodline, one that vanished ages ago." My wolf stirred uneasily within me. A peculiar tightness gripped my chest, as if a part of me acknowledged the statement before my mind could grasp it. Darian recognized my reaction. "What bloodline?" Taryn shook his head. "That's the part I never found out." Adrian's fists tightened. "Then why are you wasting our time?" "Because William knows." Taryn's tone turned urgent.

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna     THE PRICE OF THE TRUTH

LILIAN'S POV The pendant radiated an unusual warmth against my hand. I gazed at the delicate silver rose, my eyes welling with unshed tears. This was something my mother had held, perhaps pressed to her heart. Maybe she wore it on the night that everything changed for us. The notion brought a tightness to my chest. "What was her name?" my brother quietly inquired. I shot him a puzzled look. "What did you say?" "Your mother." "Rose." His expression softened. "Rose." He spoke the name as if savoring a long-buried memory he had feared would fade. "It's been years since I last spoke her name aloud." I swallowed hard. "Do you remember her?" "Every single day." His voice trembled just a bit. "When cooking, she often sang." "She couldn’t stand storms." "And every night, she counted my fingers as I drifted off, convinced I might lose one." A broken chuckle escaped through my tears. "She did the same for me." He looked directly at me. "You recall?"

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna    AN UNFORTUNATE SITUATION

LILIANA'S POV I turned around so quickly that I almost slipped on the polished floor, whispering, "Oh my God." As soon as my gaze returned to him, my face began to burn. A few paces away, Darian had a towel draped loosely around his waist and a smaller one around his neck. Drops of water trickled

LILIANA'S POV My shoulders stiffened at the sound of his voice and I stayed still hoping that he would just walk by. Maybe he'd thought I was some sort of statue. LILIANA'S POVI couldn't remember how long I sat at the foot of what was once my home waiting for Taryn. My eyes stung from how long I have been crying and I might dozed off along the line. Unfortunately what dragged me back was a voice of someone i never wanted to speak to—Taryn not only that bu

  • the alpha who chose the broken luna    LILIAN'S POV

I had barely slammed the door behind me when Mabel’s voice cracked through my phone. She had that overly dramatic tone, as if the world were moments from falling apart. “Liliana, just come back! Pop a pill, drink some orange juice, I don’t care, get your butt over here. This night is tragic withou
