**POV Lily**

It was 5:30 in the morning, and I tossed and turned in bed, hoping to find the Alpha beside me, but the bed was empty. I opened my eyes slowly, still groggy, and was immensely surprised to discover that the Alpha had vanished from my room. Sitting up in bed, I wrapped a small white satin sheet around me to shield against the chill, and a myriad of questions flooded my mind.

"So, that's how it is... I should have known that last night meant nothing to him," I whispered to myself, feeling ashamed.

With care, I got out of bed and began to put on the clothes scattered on the floor. While I was pulling on my blouse, I heard a knock on the door.

"Miss Lily, I didn't know you were awake so early," the maid apologized as she placed a tray of food beside the bed.

"What's this?" I asked, perplexed.

"The Alpha requested that we prepare breakfast for you. He instructed us to treat you well until you fully recover from the discomfort you experienced last night," the maid replied with
