Kara stared at herself in the mirror wearing the dark shade of floor length gown that hugged the front of her waist tightly while its V neck thin straps hugged held her breasts revealing a hint of her deep cleavage. The dress was completely backless while the end of it fell lightly above her hips, covering them completely. It was a gorgeous dress, perfect for an engagement party, but would have been an unforgettable one if the bride that stood in front of the mirror had a smile on her face, showing the happiness for the day. Kara was left alone in the large room to get dressed before the makeup and hair could be done. She had looked up at Damon and smiled at him. Shock had been clear on her face as she did not know what answer she was supposed to give him. She could not lie to him and say 'I love you too'. That was not in her. How could she betray the feelings of the man who showed

He went away, and before Kara had a chance to compose herself, the beauticians arrived. She was shivering and trying hard to stop her eyes from tearing up. After all, a broken heart does not repair itself within a day, and hers was just absolutely shattered at this point. But she had learnt, no matter what she did, no matter how much she gave away to James, his insecurities are going to burn their relationship to ground each time. The ceremony started, Damon came to get her from her room with a happy smile on his face. His hand slipped in her waist and guided her out. Then as they crossed the corridor and came to the stairs, his hand found its way to wrap around her fingers and clutch tightly. Kara's day started with her trying to run inside the office room hurriedly. She was very late, and to be honest, delibertly. She wanted to avoid facing James, so she had come out of her room an hour later than when the breakfast got served. Damon had already left for the office and she was about to run to her car when Rita had stopped her, asking her to go shopping with her at evening for jewelry and clothes. She had nodded her head obediently and promised to be back soon. Then asking a driver to drop her at the office, she had rushed in. She had not even looked through the glass wall in front of her office to stare at James. She avoided everything about him, including the glass wall of his office that was right in front of hers. For always appearing calm, and nonpassionate in front of her, Damon had done a damn great job of leavi

Jocob and Lina had not appeared in the party till after Kara and Damon had left barely ten minutes after the fiasco. When Kara had asked Damon if he was aware of Lina having a crush on him, he had just shrugged and mentioned it did not have anything to do with him since he was not really fond of her in any way despite of meeting her several times in the past.Damon's words the previous day had brought a wave of breaking news in all the newspapers along pictures of Kara and Damon. The news had spread like fire and all the news channels and newspapers were filled with the engagement and business related talks relating to Damon and Kara's family. Damon's parents had not thought of it as a big issue, considering they had to make an announcement in the near future, anyway. James, on the other hand, had nowhere to be seen for Kara to gauge his reaction. Even though she did not really need to g

"Where is Kara?" Damon grabbed Jacob's collar as soon as he found him in the sight, "is she okay?"Jacob tried to move him away from himself, "Man, let go of my collar first.""What the hell did you do to her?!" Damon roared in anger, "what the fuck happened?""She is alright! Nothing happened, just a small wound on head." Jacob freed himself from Damon's hold forcefully, coughing to make his own breathing become regular again, "she just went away a minute ago. She was fine.""I am going to deal with you later." Damon threatened in all seriousness and turned away to rush out immediately. His heart was thumping hard in worry while his forehead was covered in sweat. As soon as he had gotten the call from Jacob about Kara getting into an
