Selena waited for Joe to continue with his statement because she did not know what to say, and seeing how nervous he looked, Selena did not want to say something that may scare him from speaking. "So, you got married to Gabriel." Selena hastily asked. It did not disturb her that Mathew, Rose, and Craig knew that she and Gabriel had wed each other since they were his workers, but finding out that Joe knew also had Selena bothered. "Haven't you seen the news?" Selena walked into her office and slammed the door in Gabriel's face, but that did not stop him from coming in after her. She stared at him with so much rage in her eyes. "Why do everything about you and me have to be some hurtful mistake that fate brought our way?" Selena screamed as she finally allowed her tears to flow. "Selena," Gabriel mumbled. He lacked the words to comfort her even though he knew exactly how she felt. Although this was not their first argument or the first time he had seen her cry, this moment was different from the other in the sense that he wanted so badly to take away her hurt, so he wouldn't have to feel her brokenness. "Stop calling my damn name and say something else?"  "Tell me what you want me to say that's going to make you feel better, and I will." Gabriel softly said. He had never felt so helpless in a situation before.

The moment Mila stepped into the room, Selena's entire expression changed. Her eyes became as cold as ice, and her mood had swifted from adorable to savage.   “I don’t recall requesting for you, and we sure don’t have any business together. Guss said while holding back his anger. Though he had been trying to convince Gabriel for days not to host Selena's birthday party with no success, he thought to give it one last try since tomorrow was the day. "Guss, if you have a short-term memory, then resign because I don't need an incompetent worker. You have repeated this statement for exactly six days straight, and yet my decision remains the same. The party must go on." Gabriel replied. Guss paced back and forth as he stared at his young master, ignoring him as Gabriel's eyes remained focused on his computer screen. "Sir, what about Mila? I informed you days ago that she met with the Bloody Tears gang. These alphas are lawless and despicable. Whatever Mila visited was about can not be great for you or madam. Please think this through, boss." Guss explained with frustration in his eyes.

The hall was silent as everyone anxiously stared at Selena, resting in Gabriel's arms. No one spoke for a while since they were all in shock. She clutched onto Gabriel's hand as her body shivered in his hand and her eyelids continuously shut and open. Her nails dug into his skin while she tried to get a grip on herself. But what her body was undergoing was something she could not repress anymore. Selena did not have to explain how she felt because Gabriel went through the same pain she was experiencing.  He put on a brave face and held onto her, then stood up with her in his arms. "Selena!!!" Joe worriedly called out as he rushed over to the stairs. "Stay back!" Gabriel shouted. Everyone seemed completely afraid as they stared into Gabriel's face, but he cared less about either one of them. With all his might, Gabriel carried Selena up the stairs.
