Her fear about their future together

Selena walked into her office and slammed the door in Gabriel's face, but that did not stop him from coming in after her. She stared at him with so much rage in her eyes.

"Why do everything about you and me have to be some hurtful mistake that fate brought our way?" Selena screamed as she finally allowed her tears to flow.

"Selena," Gabriel mumbled.

He lacked the words to comfort her even though he knew exactly how she felt. Although this was not their first argument or the first time he had seen her cry, this moment was different from the other in the sense that he wanted so badly to take away her hurt, so he wouldn't have to feel her brokenness.

"Stop calling my damn name and say something else?" 

"Tell me what you want me to say that's going to make you feel better, and I will." Gabriel softly said.

He had never felt so helpless in a situation before.
