Thirty: Heed to them
I turned my head to look at the trainer. Equally, the woman seemed shocked. She opened her mouth widely, staring at Adrienne like a confused person.  "Hello there?" The old woman squeezed her already wrinkled face. "Is there a problem? What do you mean? If you don't do the practical, there's automatically no point in you having to come here." Adrienne shook her head slowly, blinked again. "I want a different pair. I reject this person, and I don't think asking for another pair should be a problem." "Young lady." The woman frowned slightly. "First, do you realize you're causing a commotion here? And second, I'm so sorry, but you've got to accept any project partner given to you. The computer pairs everyone according to their admission numbers and names. It's not like we can actually do anything about it." I kept watching the weird drama. What else could I do? Or was I supposed to reject her as we

Thirty one: Upset
Thinking about all Adrienne had said, I couldn't concentrate on my work. It was Friday, which meant it was time to work. But instead of focusing on working, all I could think of was how crazy she had seemed threatening. There was absolutely no one who had spoken to me in such a manner. It felt as if her voice was everywhere in my mansion.  Feeling so disturbed, I hopped from my seat, heading to the kitchen to grab a hot alcohol. Stepping out, I bumped into something. Maybe someone.  "Who the heck—" I wanted to yell, but I stopped when I saw it was Ethan. Of course it would be him. No one else had the audacity to come into my study room.  "Dude, calm down. It was only a mistake," he apologized.  I frowned, walked past him, still heading to the kitchen. Alcohol was something I drank whenever I was too stressed out. Right now, it was what I needed. I felt stupid for wanting to

Thirty two: Concentrate.
Adrienne———— "Thanks, Mommy." I grinned as I spoke to Mom over the phone. My lips pulled into a pout, my eyelashes batting like that of a child who was cajoling his mom for a lollipop.  "Is your course a stressful one?" She queried.  "Hm-hm. It's not too stressful. It's quite fine. And I'm really happy here. A lot of people like me. I feel loved." Saying that alone, she sobbed. I rolled my eyes, surprised at how well she could be emotional.  "I'm so glad you're happy." Her voice was shaky, probably because she was weeping. "I can finally sleep well at night." I giggled. "Drama queen." She laughed for a while. And after a moment of telling me how bored she always was, she said “goodbye”, and hung up immediately.  Hunching a hard sigh, I leaned my back against the comfy sofa. S

Thirty three: A while.
"Ensure to not miss lunch, ok?" Claire stated the same thing for the one hundredth time. Irritated, I rolled my eyes.  "I won't, woman." I walked past her, grabbed my bag from the counter, stepping out of the kitchen.  About to walk out of the house, she called my name. More irritated, I rolled my eyes again, then spun around to look at her.  "What?" I gave her a knowing look.  She smiled warmly, walked to me. "Sorry to disturb you. But, um…" she bit her lower lip. "I want to know if you'll be able to work with that, you know, your ex-husband." I smiled back. "Thanks, hun. But don't worry, I'll be fine. Nothing's gonna happen, ok? If he tries to do anything crazy, I'll call for help." "Good." Her smile curled into a grin. "I hope to see you in the evening. I'll be hanging out with Dave for the meantime." "Hmm."

Thirty four: Just one.
This was weird. Too weird.  It was almost two hours since Adrienne and I had started this project, but I still couldn't learn to be connected to what we were doing. The fact that I was with the woman I had once been married to, was a really crazy feeling. Again, she seemed so different.  When we had been married, I thought she was some kind of dumb person. But now that she was explaining this project to me, I could tell she was quite knowledgeable. That was probably a reason many of our trainers liked her.  "Do you get that?" She snapped me out of my thoughts. Oh jeez, I had completely forgotten she was explaining something to me.  My eyes flared open. "Huh? Get what?" I immediately regretted that I asked that. She'd know I hadn't been listening to her.  "Really?" Her eyebrows creased in an intense glower. Slamming her palm against the table, she stood up

Thirty five: Trial
Adrienne———— Confused, I moved my eyes from the blonde haired, then to Dave, then to Sebastian. What was this? A movie I unknowingly began to act? How could they all want to take me home? Was I the only lady in this college?   At first, I had kind of appreciated the fact that everyone liked me. But now, it seemed like it was getting too much. These three guys wanted to take me home. If that wasn't a problem, but what about the fact that they all seemed vexed? Sebastian gripped my wrist, absolutely not wanting to let go. Dave gave me a knowing look, explaining he was confused. And as for Harold, he was fighting with himself.  "Excuse me?" Dave released my hand from his grip, walking towards Sebastian. For the first time since I could remember, Dave seemed quite flustered. This was gross! Why would he be flustered? Sebastian was always flustered, so that w

Thirty six: What would I do?
Adrienne________ Studying on my bed, I couldn't help but grumble at myself. I was so stressed out for no particular reason. It was probably because I had been studying too much these days.  Water. I had to drink water first.  About to get up so I'd get water from the kitchen, my phone rang from the bed. I rolled my eyes before grabbing the buzzing thing. Seeing it was Sebastian, I was a little nervous.  "Hey?" I greeted as soon as I picked up.  "Um, good evening." His voice was thick, beautiful and boring as usual. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I decided to be nice. It wasn't even as if he had said anything wrong.  "Evening too. You need something?" I asked.  He cleared his throat. "Well, I just want you to know I'll be a little late for tomorrow's project. I've got so much work to do."

Thirty seven: Another Lady
Sebastian________ "I'll call you later, ma," I told my mom over the phone. "Bye." After saying that to her, I hung up the call immediately. Digging my phone into the pocket of my sweatpants, I took in a deep breath, raised my neck to look at the dark sky. The place was silent, just perfect for my evening.  I had been so worked up that I had decided to come out to enjoy myself for the evening. I didn't like to go out very much, but anytime I did, I loved to enjoy it to the fullest.  I grouched a little, and sat on the roadside bench. It had been a month since I slept with any lady, which was kind of weird. Well, tonight, I really felt like enjoying myself, but I would kind of feel guilty in a way.  Fine, Adrienne didn't like me yet, so that meant I could still enjoy myself with any other lady. But what if she got to find out or something? Would she give me a

Thirty eight: Surprised
I watched them as they hugged passionately. I was so angry, but what could I do? He was my ex-husband, she was my best friend. If I reacted, I could hurt Claire's feelings. The bad thing was, he was deceiving her. What was he going to gain by deceiving many women? She hadn't stopped crying. She was even sobbing so hard, crying as if she got hit by a strong hammer. What confused me was why she was crying. Did Sebas do something to her as well? Why was she being this emotional?  "My baby." He smiled, stroking her hair. Baby? She was his baby? This was so annoying. Couldn't they respect the fact I was here?  "Se-Se-Sebastian." She wept harder. Maybe I had to help her out. He had probably broken her heart before.  "Claire?" I was kind of worried. I soothed her back, trying to catch a glimpse of her face. "Is something going on? Why are you crying?" I raised my eyes to

Thirty nine: Argument
Adrienne________ I slipped on a black jean trouser and a white sneakers. Since it was quite cold these days, I topped my tank top with a grey sweater. Today, I decided to leave my long dark hair to fall. I didn't always have to keep it in a ponytail. After adding lip gloss to my lips, I stepped out of the closet, heading to the kitchen.  "Sup, girl?" I greeted Claire. Hearing my voice, she spun around, smiled at me, and dropped a slice of pizza on the empty plate in front of me.  "How was your night? I hope you weren't affected by what had to happen last night?" She asked, fretting.  "Worrywart. I've forgotten about that. Well, thanks to your brother." I ate from my pizza. "And seriously, I'm still surprised that he's your brother. I ought to break your teeth for lying to me about your last name." She chuckled, sat on the s
