“Oh my head. Oh god my head is splitting” groaned Alexis. “It doesn’t get easier” Alastair agreed through pained groans. “This is a familiar situation, isn’t it?” The gender less voice made Alexis perk up.

The secret garden was the same as ever. In all honesty, Alexis hadn’t visited it after Alastair had showed it to her. She was always busy. Busy and scared.  She wasn’t sure why. But, the place seemed sacred. It was almost as if she didn’t belong there. In its majestic beauty she felt like dirt. Ironically… 

The bill passed sooner than most would have thought. The aristocratic’s did ask for a few other conditions which were thoroughly reviewed, but other than that things sailed smoothly. All there was left was for Alastair to finalise a contract with a recovering Shane. And so he was invited to the palace. Something no vampire had ever had the displeasure of. He looked to every corner of the palace in caution, expecting an assassination any moment. Of course, nothing happened.
