Chapter 114: Emotional

..."I don't recommend you to leave." Dehlia said with an inexplicable look on her face. Ley could see that she was sincere and serious. Something bad would happen if he tried to leave the island. That was what her words just now implied. Ley pressed his lips into a thin line. In his mind, he was a bit conflicted... and annoyed. After all, he knew the woman had no malicious intention, yet. The reason she was preventing him from walking out of this house was probably because she believed that she was his shelter and shield against the unknown threat that normally would spell trouble or, even, demise to outsiders. Yet he was annoyed since if he was not brought here in the first place, but to a hospital, none of these would happen. "Miss Dehlia, actually, I would have to tell you one thing." With a solemn look put on, he turned around to meet her in the eyes. This time, he was clear about the unusual care that showed in her eyes. Ley who wa

Chapter 115: Where is Hana?

...'They should have reached the island on time, right?' He secretly wished, counting on the Goddess' blessings and protection. Although Ley had known Hana and Fernando for only so long, he had grown quite used to their presence already. A thread of karma already bound the three of them as members of House Hevel. He certainly wanted them to stay alive. Ley sped up his running pace, not paying attention to anything that would hinder him, including his wounds and internal injuries. Several minutes later, he finally arrived in the airport where he got separated from his group. He noticed that he still had half of his Gift's uses remaining despite traveling more than a hundred fifty miles. But like what was said earlier, mulling over this was not the priority. With no card or phone with him, he was forced to borrow a phone from a lady that just came out of the baggage area. Thankfully, the other was kind and pitied him for his wounded state

Chapter 116: Prayers (1)

...It had been hours since Ley left Dehlia as if he was fleeing for dear life. The woman was still dumbfounded and could not believe that the young man she fancied and wanted to bind to herself turned out to be not an ordinary person. He was actually not a regular human being that she could trap in their island through marriage. How could he teleport out of a forest fairy's house? What kind of being did she try to entrap? Dehlia stared blankly at the door. She did not even notice when she got herself seated on the wooden sofa in the living room. Was she wrong for wanting to be with the guy she liked? Or was it her approach that was wrong? However, she did take care of him sincerely. Although he said that he could not stay due to an enemy, she could not help but feel empty. Dehlia's head was blank for a long while, until she realized that she committed a blunder due to her shortsightedness and stupidity. When her tribe leader arrived and

Chapter 117: Prayers (2)

...On the island, the locals and the guests who were purposely not called to the welcoming of Ley were informed about his return an hour later. Rumors said that this head of the house was injured, which naturally made a lot worry. However, unlike the invited visitors who were anxious about the enemies of the House, the villagers were simply anxious about their Anito's wellbeing. The latter group never thought of their own safety since it was a no-brainer for them. Island Ophir as a domain under the protection of the Three Goddesses was one of the best sanctuaries on Earth. With this in mind, they had the time to worry about Ley himself. The villagers were sad and concerned about him, knowing he only became injured for defending the House when they were still outside the island. The chief of the island, one of the elderly people, led the villagers in praying to the Three Goddess for his sake, which was very nice of them. When Ley heard of this, he was stun

Chapter 118: The Changes

...There was still no news of Hana after an entire week. Ley and co never left the island since then. Not even the mortals were allowed to step foot outside the island due to Ley's extreme cautiousness. Until they heard from the Goddess who was not inhabiting Hana's body, he deemed it unsafe for them to join the bigger fights outside. To pass the time, Ley talked to the old man and as the Goddess had guessed, the matter he raised was about their severely lacking combat strength. He did not open up regarding his conjecture about why Anitos went after another Anitos. However, there was no need for Fernando to hear that in order to feel the urgency of their situation. "The world of the Anitos is really not as peaceful as regular humans expect." The old man had said it already before, but he repeated these same words afternoon of Ley's return from the village. This was after he created the roads that aimed to improve the lives of the locals when it come

Chapter 119: Turbulent Times

..."Thanks for the great work." Ley said with a nod full of approval to the old man. Earlier, he vanished to circle the island, confirming if those giant sea creatures controlled by Fernando surrounded and secured all sides. When he returned, in actuality, his gaze towards this person who just became his adoptive grandfather was mixed with apologies. He knew that in order to accomplish this feat, Fernando relinquished control of several other animals, which meant that more than half of the effort spent trying to build a reliable information network in the capital had gone to waste. The foundation of the information system was hurt, so was his source of faith energy since those countless tiny birds and land animals would naturally no longer have a strong belief in him. The freedom granted to these animals would gradually make them stray far away or forget about Fernando. As for the large creatures that replaced them... Ley could see thro

Chapter 120: Decision

Ley uttered some words addressed to the Goddess of the Sun and Dawn. However, he knew not to expect that he would be heard soon. The status of the Goddess was just too high and unimaginable for small fries like him. It was said that in the Skyworld, the number of inhabitants were a hundred times more than the current population of the Mortal Realm. As a major deity, there bound to be many believers calling out the Goddess' name every second. Meanwhile, he was but an Anito who was not truly a believer of Hanan. In actuality, the prayer, like to anybody who did this when faced with problems and dilemmas, was just a way to get some inner peace. On that day, Ley did not get a wink of sleep, nor did he try getting some. An Anito, if not without divine energy in them, could stay up for an entire month if they wanted to. This was why, he was not bothered, and when morning came, without people observing him carefully, they would not even notice the stress that coul

Chapter 121: Prev

...While Ley was hesitant to voice out his fears about the nefarious way an Anito could speed up their ascension or increase of strength, the old man left to guard the island also had his own misgivings that he had been keeping to himself, worries that were eating away at his heart. Ever since Fernando learned that powerful deities from the Skyworld could descend to Earth, he started having doubts about whether all Skyworld gods could do the same... In the near future, would they awake to find themselves taken over by some random Skyworld gods too? When Hana's body was suddenly taken over by the Goddess of the Sun and Dawn, what process did they go through? Did Hana give her permission or was at least informed beforehand? The unknown was always the most evoking of fear. However, what he did not know was that he was only thinking too much about it. A being from the Skyworld could not easily descend and the only person they could take ove

Chapter 121: Waiting for the Court

...While Ley was hesitant to voice out his fears about the nefarious way an Anito could speed up their ascension or increase of strength, the old man left to guard the island also had his own misgivings that he had been keeping to himself, worries that were eating away at his heart. Ever since Fernando learned that powerful deities from the Skyworld could descend to Earth, he started having doubts about his current race. What if all along, Skyworld gods could do what the Goddess had done to Hana's body? In the near future, would they just suddenly awake to find themselves taken over by some random Skyworld gods too? When Hana's body was suddenly taken over by the Goddess of the Sun and Dawn, what process did they go through? Did Hana give her permission or was she not at least informed beforehand? The unknown was always the most evoking of fear. Unfortunately, as Fernando was but a low-level deity, the answer could not come

Chapter 122: Prev

...It had taken Ley quite the mental fortitude to stay calm and collected as he boarded a taxi from the seaport of Manila to the bungalow. Several hours already passed since he left the island. The  lights all around the city were already flashing to give illumination to every person still not yet home. Throughout the more than an hour drive, Ley remained seated on the backseat with his eyes closed, listening to the prayers and grumblings of people calling out his name. At the same time, he was very alert to any suspicious event in his surroundings. When he was only a kilometer away from the bungalow, he opened his eyes. His face and gaze remained placid. As he drew nearer to the place, he began to feel the unusual aura that was emanating from the house. 'The Goddess visited this residence first?' he guessed. ...A/N: author is still ill, though I'm already feeling a bit better. Tomorrow, I'll definitely upload a full update
