Chapter `11
Lois was very unhappy. She did not like living alone. There was no one there to wait on her. No one to cook for her. And no one to get money off of. This would not do. She had to come up with a plan to force her daughter back into the house. Yes, there was food in the house, but if she wanted it, she would have to cook it! Lois felt that this was very demeaning. She had always had Rick to boss around and Debbie to supply her with money to spend and show off in front of her friends. This was just too unfair! Lois decided to call a few friends to come over and play cards. She asked them to bring a dish of something and make a party of it. Although she would not be cooking anything herself, that didn't mean that her friends couldn't! A perfect solution. All the neighbors at Sundown Estates live in such close proximity to each other, that they already knew that Debbie and Rick had moved out was no surprise. Word had gotten around to Lois's circle of friends, so they could figure out

The next day was their start of a new work week. Debbie made her way to the office driving the new Bentley. Luckily no one saw her drive up and park. As she entered the building, there were several small groups of coworkers standing around gossiping. So much had happened over the weekend. The main topic of conversation was about Ting Gap. It was sensational news all over town that someoone had moved into the luxury villa at Silver Hill. Speculation was high as to who had bought it. As Debbie passed people talking about this, she smiled inwardly. If they only knew! As she was reaching her office she was stopped by her Uncle James. He asked her to step into his office for a chat. This almost never happened, so Debbie was a little apprehensive. What could he possibly want to talk about with her? As she walked into Uncle James's office he said to her "Have you heard any rumors about our company? Has anyone asked you about our business dealing with RBG Group?" She replied "No si

"Hello! I didn't expect to see you so soon." Rick greeted Old Wilson. Old Wilson had been busy that morning working on the case against James Blain and the Blain family. He said to Rick "I have completed the audit against James Blain. We are ready to let the lawyers start prosecution. It will involve the rest of his family as well. Luckily, Madame Green was not involved in any way. Are you sure you want to continue with this law suit?" Rick had thought long and hard about this matter. He could not in good conscious let the Blain family get away with their plans to cheat his company. He and Debbie had already decided it was the best way forward. So he replied to Old Wilson "Yes. Debbie and I want to prosecute this to the fullest extent of the law." Old Wilson then took out a document and handed it to Rick. Doing so he said to Rick "Then this is a copy of the suit we will file with the courts. Basically it accuses James Blain and the Blain family of extortion and embezzlement

Lois had been anxious all day. She had planned to go to Debbie's office to follow her home that afternoon. But when she got to the office, she was stunned to see it crawling with police. Then after everyone was escorted out, the police padlocked the building! What was going on? Was Debbie involved with any of this? Lois decided to call Debbie to find out what was happening. Debbie answered when Lois called. "Hello?" Lois said " I just came from your office. There were police everywhere, then they locked up the building! What on earth is going on?" "Mom, Uncle James and Grandfather were arrested today. They are charged with extortion and embezzlement, among other things. The police had warrants for the finanical records of the company, as well as the contents of Grandfather's house. From what I have heard, they have all the evidence they need to convict them both. The Blain family assets have also been frozen. This will not end well for the Blain family. The family's reput

Tangu The Wang family were meeting again to discuss their takeover of The Green Family Shipping company. Old Man Wang called the meeting to order and asked George for a progress report. George stood up and said "Father, I have researched the shipping company and have found that it is much larger than we first thought. They own most of their own railcars, lorries, planes and ships. The company is worth over $75 million, after any debts. We cannot afford to outright buy it. But we can try to whittle away some of the divisions. Specifically, I think the trucking and air portion are ripe for the plucking. From what I have uncovered, no one from the Green family has stepped in to take over the management of these devisions yet. If we can find out who these divisions are mortgaged to, perhaps we could buy up the loans and then foreclose the loans in order to take over those operations." Old Man Wang said " Very good, that's a good start." At which time George's brother Wayne stood

As Tony walked into the gambling den, he saw some old friends standing to the side. He walked up and greeted his friends. "How is everyone tonight? Feeling lucky?" They all were surprised to see Tony there. They all knew about his gambling debts and wondered why he was there. "We all are fine! But what are you doing here? Come to lose some more money?" Tony was a bit miffed at this. He said " My luck is bound to change tonight! " With this he turned to a craps table close by and placed a bet and immediately lost! He was not deterred. He placed another bet and again he lost. He had already lost $50,000 in just two bets! At this rate he would be broke in 5 minutes. He decided to change

It had been a few weeks since James Blain and his father had been arrested. They had been tried and convicted of extortion and embezzlement. Both were given 20 years in prison. The rest of the Blain family were still in a state of shock. As a result of the lawsuit, Rick's RBG Group had been given all of the Blain family assets. It included the accounting firm that Debbie's father had started. So to help support the honest members of the Blain family, Rick and Debbie decided to reopen the firm. They changed the name to RBG LLC to avoid the reputation that the old firm had been plagued with after the fall of the Blain family. Debbie became the chairman. Rick and Old Wilson helped her reorganise the firm and together they were determined to run it as honestly and with as much intigrity as possible. They had planned a big opening ceremony. After Debbie and Lois had come through the front gates of Silver Hill, Lois was all excited. She had dreamed of one day passing those gates into the paradise that lay beyond. As they turned into the drive at Ting Gap, she was even more impressed. The grounds were exquisite and the villa was palatial. When they got out of the car the door was opened by the Butler Li Fan. He said to them "Welcome home Madame Green. And welcome to your guest." As Lois walked into the villa, her mouth dropped open. She had never seen anything so opulent in her life! And this is where my daughter lives? Impossible! Bulter Li Fan then said "Madame, the Master is waiting for you in the family lounge. Would either of you care for a before dinner drink?" Debbie replied "Just tea, thank you Li Fan." Bulter Li Fan showed them into the family lounge and brought Debbie and Lois cups of tea. He then refilled Rick's cup before saying "Dinner is in 20 minutes in the pool house. Will there be anything el

Many of the marriges in Fing City were arranged. They were more in the line of business deals among the more wealthy families in town. Therefore, most of the men had multiple affairs on a regular basis. The women too, for that matter. Although they may not know who their spouses were sleeping with, it was just a fact of life that they were sleeping around. The women were expected to produce at least one heir, then after that, most husbands didn't give them another thought. As for the men, a unique aspect of this was that a housing area was developed over many years to accommodate their mistresses. A gated community was build to protect their identity and to close them off from prying eyes. Many of these households had bastard children, offspring of these illict affairs. Some of these mistresses even had nannies and other servants working for them, depending on the wealth of their lovers. This development was called Wong Manor. But privately most people called it Mistress Hill.

Debbie was proud of herself. She was proud of the progress she had made in reorganising the firm. It had taken several weeks to secure new employees and department heads. Each had their own strengths and were working together toward a common goal. Which was to make the new RBG LLC a success. A lot of the old clients came back, which gave the firm a solid base to grow from. But just days away from the opening ceremony, Debbie still needed a good project manager. She had asked the HR Director to compile a list of posible candidates. They planned to interview them together. As Debbie was going down the list, she noticed just one or two women's names. She really wanted to keep the staff diversified if she could. So she circled the two names and asked for them to be interviewed first. The HR Director was a bit miffed, as he really thought that business was best suited to men. But Debbie was the boss, so he went ahead and scheduled the interviews for that same day.
