Raven The princess rose to her feet and walked from the platform down to the dirt of the arena, her head remained high the entire time. I shot a brief glance at Cassius, merely to find fear filling his facial expressions. With a brief apologetic look, I turned back

Raven  “No catch, we just prefer you both to remain at the palace. It’s not safe for the two of you to be out publicly after that little show you put on today.” His voice remained cold and stoic

Raven  “Darling, do you recall the time I-,” The King stopped talking as we stepped back into the room. Cassius followed us with a burning gaze while we walked around the table.

Where did you get that?” My face hardened, and I stood up straighter. Suspicion crept its way up my spine as I looked down at the golden rose she held between her fingertips. “Your mom and I were... close friends when we were younger. You could even say best friends.” She delivered a genuine smile my way before releasing the pendant back onto her skin. If she were such good friends with my mother, why had I never met her? Some things weren't adding up and my anxiety throughout my body told me not to trust her.
