Again, and again, and again, I gulped. Wait, how in the world had he fallen for me? What was wrong with these guys? What was going on in my life? First, it had been Raymond. Then Ralph. Then Ryan. And now, Kenneth? What was all this? A love… pentagon? Four men, all in love with me? Was I Bill Gates' secret daughter or something? What was happening?! Extremely confused, I threw my hand up, violently raked my fingers into my hair. "Oh, Jesus, help me. Please, help me." Kenneth sighed. "This is it, Serene. It hurts so much when you defend Marsha. How can you expect me to like her, though I'm in love with someone else?" "But, see, I need to tell you something," I announced. I wasn't in for the shitty I-love-you talks.  For Jeez' sake, I had a boyfriend! A very cute, adorable, and extremely loving boyfriend. It had been a few weeks since I had been dating Ryan, over a month since I had liked h

I smiled at myself, adoring how good I looked, as I stared at my reflection in the large, rectangular-shaped mirror which was placed on the wall in front of me, in Ryan's guest room. Ryan kind of had a nice sense of fashion. The dark, shiny evening gown he had bought was very beautiful, matching the silver slingback heels I had on. The hairstylist had given me a little hair cut, and had styled my hair in wavy curls. Overall, the slight makeup on my face was perfect.  I cupped my hands around my jaw, flushing like an infatuated teenager. "You're pretty," I murmured to myself.  "You're done?" Hearing Ryan's voice, I turned to him.  He leaned his shoulder over the door frame, his arms curled around his chest. I couldn't help but notice him. The dark blue shirt he wore, matched his black chino pants and brown lace up shoes. Also, he had style his hair in classic taper cut, which made him look so handsome.

I felt a tingling and sharp pain at the back of my head, as my eyes slowly opened. My hands felt locked in something, my legs unable to make any movement. My butt felt so hot, something pinching my lower abdomen. As I blinked, the bright light on the ceiling shone against my eyes, making me feel partially blind.  What was going on? Hearing a thick, masculine voice, my eyes snapped open. Wait, why were my hands and legs tied with a rope? Why was I tied to this old, wooden chair? Had I been… kidnapped? I gasped, my eyes broadening in fear. My eyeballs scrolled through the place, my heart working at its ultimate pace. Dreaded, I took a deep breath, praying for a miracle to happen. Who had done this to me? Why would anyone kidnap me? What did they want? "When all the guests leave the hall, we'll be able to leave the hotel without being questioned by anyone," a man said. He had his back on me,

Ryan°°°°°° I requested a glass of non-alcoholic wine from the bartender, drumming my fingers against the bar counter, as I sat on one of the high bar stools by the counter. To be honest, I was quite worried that Serene hadn't gotten back yet. I wanted to check on her, but I felt like I should wait a little longer. Earlier, while we had both been at my place, she had spent a long time in the bathroom. So, what if she had constipation or something? I didn't think it'd be nice to disturb her. "So, how's everything going at your office?" Sherri asked.  I turned to her, trying to act like I wasn't worried. She had been talking to me for a while, which kind of kept my company. I smiled at her. "It's been going well, I guess. It's just that I'm still seeking a way to get rid of Raymond." She sipped from her glass of wine, and giggled. "I think you should resign already.

The taste of the meatballs Ryan had bought for us, was completely refreshing. I shut my eyes, smiling like a drunkard. Could meatballs make a person feel on top of the world? Yes.  "You like it that much?" Ryan laughed at me.  I nodded like a maniac. "Very much. It's so… gosh. No words can express it." "Mind if we get ice cream after this meal?" He offered.  I nodded crazily. "Yes. Ice cream. Vanilla. And strawberry. And chocolate." He smiled. "Alright." I grabbed some burnt ends and corn dogs from the plate in front of me, and chewed on them like a hungry goat. Ryan stared at the brown colored soup in front of him, which had a whole lot of green leafs, pepper, and catfish in it, seeming quite hesitant to drink the soup.  I raised an eyebrow at him. "What's up with you? You're scared of it? You know the soup isn

I didn't know how to begin this unnecessary explanation. I didn't want him to do anything to Kenneth. We hadn't been doing anything wrong, so Kenneth was innocent here. I hoped Ryan would make use of his senses.  "Um…" Kenneth smiled weirdly, and sighed. "I-I guess I'll be leaving now. Do take care, okay? And, see you at work on Monday." I nodded with a smile. "And you too. Goodnight." "Goodnight." With that, he left.  As soon as he walked into the next street, I turned to Ryan who had a neutral expression on his face. Okay, I wasn't going to deal with his jealousy this time around. I'd just ignore it.  "Let's go in." I feigned a smile. Saying it, I just walked past him. But then, for some reasons I didn't care to know about, he held my wrist back.  "Wait," he ordered.  I rolled my eyes, and turned to him.

Telling Vicki about my intimacy with Ryan, wasn't a good thing to do. All morning, she had been teasing me, cracking some kind of weird and dumb jokes that were almost pissing me off. But, well, her jokes made me blush so much! It made me remember how Ryan had been gentle and passionate with me.  But, whoops, when I had woken up this morning, the soreness in my lap hadn't been something cute. Overall, I was glad to have given Ryan all of me. I only hoped that nothing crazy would come our way now, especially because Sherri was still in this game of relationship struggle.  Vicki sighed as she stood up from the vanity chair, in front of the dressing mirror, in my room.  "Will see you later. And, by then, I'm hoping to get some news." She winked as if her eyes were paining her.  I rolled my eyes. "What news now?" Again, she winked. "Nevermind."

I wanted to wail at the top of my voice, but I possibly couldn't do that right here. But, seriously, what was my sin? I hadn't even worked here for six months, and now, I was getting fired? Why me? Marsha had been the one who caused all this, but I got to suffer for it? "So, I'm sorry, you'll have to leave," Mrs. Stanley finished the long and boring explanation I had definitely not been listening to. She grabbed her pen from the desk, her eyes glued to the paper in front of her. "So, y'all should be dismissed. I'm sorry for this, but I can't help it. Pack you stuff, and leave now. Thanks." As soon as she said that, everyone started walking out of the office. I was very unstable, but I managed to walk out as well. I couldn't contain my tears. It seemed like I was the only one who was crying. Well, I knew how painful this was.  "Hey." Kenneth walked over to me, just when I wanted to arrange my items. His eyebrows were

I stared at mom as she lay unconscious on the hospital bed. Bandages were wrapped around her head, ventilators covering her nose, and she seemed almost lifeless. The same as dad who was on the bed beside hers.  Vicki sniffled as she sat by the other side of mom's bed, staring deeply at her. "I can't believe this," she said. "Just this morning, I saw them smiling. Now, they seem dead. How did it even happen? Dad's car's never had any faults. In fact, only two days ago, he took it to a mechanic for servicing." I was silent. Silent since we had come to the hospital. I couldn't even cry anymore. After hearing the sad news, all I had done was to inform Vicki about it, over the phone, and hurry to this place.  "It'll be fine," I mumbled. If I didn't encourage myself, no one would.  Vicki glimpsed at me, wiping off her tears with the tissue in her hand. "Um…" Her voice was hoarse and k

Mom and dad's predicament wasn't enough for me to get frustrated. Seeking a job was also on my neck. Vicki had also lost her job, due to some crazy reasons that were unknown to me. So, there was really no way we could both survive if we kept staying at home. In a month, we would completely run out of money. To worsen it all, we had to bear the cost of paying our parents' medical bills. Though a couple of days had passed by, they were still unconscious.  "Hey, buddy." Vicki walked into my room, and used her elbow to shut the door behind her. As soon as she hopped on the bed, she unpacked the food she had kept in a small bag, then started slurping it.  Quite furious to know that she had spent some money on ice cream, chips, and some ugly burgers, I rolled my eyes, and slammed my pen against the furnished stool in front of me. "Seriously? Ice cream?" I threw a glare at her.  She snorted. "Hey, calm down. My b
