Chapter Eleven
Ariadne’s Crown: Morgan stepped out onto the upper deck and closed the door behind her. The sea air hit her and she inhaled deeply. It made her feel alive. Made her feel free. She was craving the adventure. The sky is clear and you can see stars from miles away. They were holding their own light show as they twinkled away. The sound of the waves hitting the ship as it glided across the ocean. Everything was so relaxing. She agreed with Claire, this is the first time in a long time she felt safe. The first time in a long time she felt free. She walked down the stairs to the lower deck and found herself walking across it. Before she knew it she was up the second set of stairs and on the deck where the helm was. Her hand caught the rail. She had found herself to Gavin. His eyes were focused on the horizon. His dark hair ruffled through the wind. She smiled softly to herself watching him.

Maps: That was another one of his punishments. If he couldn't beat them to death, he would try to starve them to death. He was gone hopefully for long. Morgan pried open the loose floor board. She reached in and pulled out a stale loaf of bread. Her stomach winces in pain seeing the food. It had been a few days since they last ate. He had been hanging around the house too much lately. They couldn't sneak in to grab the bread. She hadn't been able to sneak off with her makeshift fishing pole she made. She had gotten pretty good at catching fish from the lake. Even though Claire hated going there. She didn't blame her but it was one of the ways she could get them food to eat. Even if she had gotten the pole, a fire to cook the fish would have drawn his attention. She broke the bread and handed it to Claire. She ins

*warning: graphic scene in this chapter* Hurt: Gavin stood there watching the door several seconds after she left. God what was he doing? He thought. "Captain?" Jason asked amused. "What?" He growled. "You asked for me. You said you wanted to go over routes." Jason said with a shrug. " Fuck. Yes. Damn it." He muttered looking down at the map again. Jason had a silly grin as he walked over to the map. "Don't." Gavin warned. Jason put his hands up in defense. Gavin glanced back at the map. He ran his hand through his hair frustrated. She

Trouble: She began shaking more. He suddenly picked her up cradling her in his arms. He made his way around to the front of the cabin. He was about to bring her in and she pulled back. "No Claire! I can't let her see this." She said as the tears she had been holding back started to slip out. Seeing her crying; he wanted to drag him back out of the sea and kill him all over again. He nodded slightly and started to make his way towards Jason's cabin. Jack was still up and rushed over to Gavin. She moved wanting him to put her down but he gripped her tighter, pulling her closer to his bare chest. "I can walk." She whispered trying to wipe the tears quickly away. He grunted his response as he tightened his grip. She sighed g

Secrets: Morgan stretched out in the bed. She didn't have one dream last night. It was refreshing. She turned to her side, opening her eyes. She found a pair of big blue ones staring at her. Morgan let out a squeal. Claire began laughing, holding her side. "That was awesome."  Claire said tears were coming to her eyes. She was laughing so hard. "Jerk." Morgan said playfully pinching her. Morgan sat up and realized she was back in Gavin's cabin. She looked around confused. How did she get here? She thought about it as she let her feet hit the ground. "He carried you in.....he was shirtless." Claire said giggling. "Claire!" Morgan warned her.

Name: Morgan started walking up the stairs to the top deck. Her hands shook slightly as she tried to control the beating of her heart, which was racing inside her chest. Reaching the top stair and looking towards the helm. Morgan realized that in the brief encounter she had with Chris, Gavin and Jason had switched out. She frowned, walking towards Jason with concern in her eyes. "Where is he?" Morgan asked Jason. "Something wrong?" Jason asked, searching her eyes. Morgan looked around quickly seeing Chris off in the distance and she shook her head no. "I just need to find the captain." She said her eyes begining to wander. "Lass I think right now it would be best to just giv

Siren's Gulley: Morgan dropped Gavin's hand as they stepped out of the cabin. Gavin didn't notice his eyes fixated on the scene before him. Two big cliffs border a water passage. The sky was light and seemed to sparkle as if inviting them in.  The setting sun gave the entrance a golden hue. Gavin frowned. He left Morgan side and headed as quickly as he could down the stairs and across the low deck. She hesitated, staring at the sky once more before following him. She reached the helm just in time to hear Jason and Gavin talking. "You said there was an emergency!" Gavin said, narrowing his eyes at Jason. "Captain, you don't think that the entrance being so happy looking is dangerous?" Jason whispered to him. "Seriously, when did you become superstitious on me." G

Betrayal: She was floating through the darkness. It wasn't darkness like when she was running through the woods trying to escape. No noise; no sense of overwhelming fear. Just nothing. She felt like a giant weight was taken off her and she could breathe. As she drifted it was peaceful. She closed her eyes enjoying the calming feeling of this place. "Morgan!!" She heard a distant echo. She opened her eyes staring into the darkness. Did she hear something? Did she forget something? "Morgan!!" She jolted. There it was again. Her name. It was distant and faded but she heard it. Who needs her? Who was she forgetting? "Damn it Morgan come on!"

Liar: Morgan stood outside the cabin on the upper deck. This can't be happening, she thought. How could he not believe her? What would she have to gain? She was hurt and angry and then angry because she was hurt. She glanced back at the cabin door wanting to go back in. Wanting to talk to him. Wanting to make him understand. She began to turn back to the door but felt Jason's hand on her arm stopping her. " I'm sorry lass. Orders are orders." Jason said with remorse in his voice. She exhaled the breath she was holding in and started to stairs. With Jason close behind her she started down them into the lower deck. She was lost in her own thoughts of what she could do or say to make him believe her. She mindlessly walked across the lower deck feeling like a pris

Illusions: Gavin had left Chris and made his way up to the helm. Jason was deep in thought concentrating on the ocean. Gavin approached him frustrated. Jason raised an eyebrow at him as if to ask what was wrong. Gavin took a deep breath in.  "She was right."  Gavin said to Jason in one exhale. Jason looked at him confused. Gavin took a step closer and lowered his voice. " Morgan. She's right about Chris. He tried to steal the map and somehow planted poison on Morgan. He's somehow aligned with Travis." Gavin explained, his stomach feeling like it was burning at the mention of Travis's name. He was doing everything possible to remain in control. Ignoring every impulse he had. All he wanted to do right now was to
