After one week of bed rest Sarah was discharged but she was put off from work for another two weeks. She had made it through this challenged times. Her baby was okay, but she needed to still rest to keep him or her alive. Jacob was also discharged on the same day. His hands were still wrapped in bandages and he was given a date for the next week. Sarah already knew the procedure for next week by reading his file. They left the hospital together after fetching their medication from the pharmacy. Their car was parked in the parking lot for almost 2 weeks. Sarah drove home with Jacob in the passenger seat because he was still drowsy and his arms were still delicate at this stage. Sarah stopped at the creche and to pick up Alex. She jumped off the car and knocked at the door. The teacher called for Alex. It was 3pm and she wasnt planning on driving in less than 2 hours time to fetch him.  He grabbed his bag and excitedly ran out the door into his mothers arms. 

It was December. Christmas was in a few weeks time. This was the last thing on Sarah's mind. How could she even afford Christmas. The land lady just gave them an increase of rent. She had her car payment due. Food to see to and a new baby. Jacob had still not found work and Sarah's two thirds of a salary couldn't cover any of this. It was the first week of December and Sarah started looking for another place to rent. She couldn't afford this. She could afford anything. She wondered how will she make it to Christmas. Alex would be looking forward to the day, to the presents. Jacob and Sarah together with their two toddlers were living in a new neighborhood. Sarah had started a new job and things were looking bright for them. Jacob had worked for a brief moment but was out of work again. It was December and holiday cheer was here. Sarah had just one provincial meeting to attend before she went on vacation leave. She dressed in a champagne buff dress. She slipped on a pair of heals, they were still knew, she only used them once, but decided to go with pumps instead.
