Samantha’s POVDamien and I sat on the porch looking out at the night waiting on any word from Lucien. The night was quiet but my mind was full of voices, voices that were not my own. I couldn’t place them, I couldn’t quiet them down. I was exhausted and it was starting to show. “The treaty has been signed,” Damien said looking over at me as he pushed the swing back off with his feet. “No war?” Damien shook his head, “not with Nikko, dad however is still unclear.” Frowning I looked up at the mood, “is Lucien really back normal?” Once again Damien shook his head, “yes. He snapped out of it the moment he sensed you were in danger. I think Nikko might have knocked him down a peg or two by taking you. Lucien has always thought he was untouchable.”

Samantha’s POVI sat on the swing looking out at the woods. I knew he was coming, I could feel him. The sun had set leaving nothing put stars to light up the night, the moon was nowhere to be seen. I wondered where Lucien was, I could feel him but he wasn’t approaching. Why would he send Nikko to me?The minute Nikko broke through the tree lines I felt a little twinge of excitement and I had to ball my hands at my side to not rush up to him. It was important for me that things go smoothly for him, I didn’t want him to lose everything he had gained because of me.
