Chapter 14 Blake sat on the couch after seeing that Evangeline was already fast asleep… The words she said was like an earworm that he couldn’t get rid of it and it made him feel like Evangeline kept repeating her words, whispering to him. “Idiot, is it because you can’t kill me once I’m away?” he thought and shut his eyes as he massaged his temple, trying not to assume something that would only hurt him in the end.  It didn’t take long when a sudden noise caught his attention and when he tilted his head on the side, Evangeline entered and she looked pale. He quickly stood up and gave her a stern look… confused by the emptiness he could see in her beautiful green eyes. “You’re sick, what are you doing? You are supposed to rest,” he said, even though he was confused; he couldn’t deny how worried he was. And then he was stunned to see Evangeline burst out in tears as she stared at his face. His heart skipped a bit the moment he saw her tearing up.
