Sam was visited by Arthur's friends, masters in medicine and drugs. She took intensive classes with them, who helped her to set up her laboratory with their signatures and acknowledge it before the law. Several months passed and although she didn't do it very often, Sam still had to keep learning and her lab had to be inspected from time to time by experts. She worked alongside a group of almost all graduates in the field, all of them outstanding. She looked at herself in the mirror for the last time and smiled. Little by little she had changed the way she dressed and her shopping with Anabela had filled her closet with more youthful and beautiful dresses. After applying a nice lipstick, she put her veil over her face, as only Arthur had the privilege of seeing it.The evening with her boyfriend was romantic and special, Arthur treated her as if she were a queen and always made up an outing to have her all to himself.Under the moonlight, her boyfriend would und

Sam fell asleep after so much crying. She woke up later than usual and her reflection in the mirror was frightening, at least she could cover it with her veil. She dreaded going out and seeing Arthur, but at the same time, she wanted to hold him in front of her, hug him and explain why she ran away from her husband. She walked out crestfallen and went into the kitchen. She felt instantly judged and ashamed, even though no one knew what had happened. She sat down shyly, worried eyes piercing her.“Are you all right?” Jacqueline accosted her. “You look pale and your eyes are puffy. Tell me if I should go and tell Arthur off. Did you fight? He was out very early in a foul mood.”Sam cleared her throat because her speech was slurred.“No, he didn't do anything to me,” she tried not to cry, despite the stinging in her eyes. She felt terrible as she didn't know how to make things right between them. It hurt her to hurt him, i

Hunger was ravaging her, as a result, her body was already very weak. She fell on the grass and cried out of frustration.“Arthur…” she stammered before closing her eyes.(...)“Where is it?” Arthur searched desperately, his room was in disarray and his drawers were open.“What happened here?” Anabela was shocked to see the mess.“Who came into my room?” he asked in a trembling voice. He couldn't believe he had lost it.“No one comes into your room unless it's for cleaning,” Anabela came up to him and put her arms around his neck.“You just came in and you're not going to do the cleaning,” he sighed and Anabela met his brown gaze.“I just came to see how you are, I'm very worried about you,” she stroked his cheek with her thumb.“I'm looking for something,” he regained his personal space and avoided her gaze

Her breathing was heavy, her heart beat with such agitation that it choked her. Pain and burning mingled and she lost consciousness.(...)“Julia, I don't understand what you are telling me,” she trembled at what she was hearing.“Mr. Fraga's farm is being used to sell weapons and toxic substances. You must escape from this place, it is not safe for you,” the lady warned her.“Since my father died, this is no longer a safe place, Julia.”“Yes, but things got complicated. They say your father didn't die naturally, Samay. He was murdered and they are framing you. Do you know what they are forcing you to sign and fill in?”Sam opened her eyes as if waking from a nightmare, her head ached and the dizziness wouldn't let her sit up as she should. She touched her face and her veil was gone.“Don't worry, only the doctor and I have seen you and he is completely trustworth

Arthur rode in a daze, the melancholy in his chest and the emptiness of her absence was torturous. To imagine all that she suffered, all that she had to sacrifice.***“So, the lady is dead,” Samuel remained thoughtful and then smiled. "We must not lose hope, there is a person who can help us and soon I will find his whereabouts.”"Who is it?” Arthur asked in confusion.“Mrs. Julia's grandson.”Arthur nodded. Samuel got up from his chair and left.Arthur was in his room pondering Sam's confession when the door opened.“Hello, Arthur,” Anabela hugged him fervently. “I've been so worried. Where did you go that you didn't sleep in the house last night?”“I was working something out,” he pinched his nose.“And why did you go off by yourself? You know those thugs have you in their sights. Luckily they didn't succeed when you were in jail
