Mei had dropped by her apartment to pick up a few things for the night. She had barely stepped through the door when she spotted Bohai surveying the apartment. The moment their eyes met, she silently turned around and locked the door behind her. She bolted all the locks before turning to face him.He knew he had no right to fight back after what he had done to her the last time. She didn't entertain him any further, and he simply kept an eye on her movements without interfering. She went about her business, gathered her things, and spent some time organising them. Once she was done, she headed for the door. He followed her out of the apartment, and she locked the door behind them before heading downstairs to hail a cab.Seeing her waiting for a taxi, Bohai offered her a ride, which Mei immediately declined. Mei got into the car and fastened her seatbelt, followed by Hui.“We can head to Xue’s,” Mei said.“Nope. I’ve made a reservation,” Hui replied.She didn't want to argue, so she went along with it. The ride to the restaurant was shrouded in silence, as neither of them uttered a word.When they arrived, they got out and entered the restaurant to confirm the reservation. Mei had called in the movers to come over to her place. She was taking only the essentials with her. Everything else, she planned to throw away.For convenience, she picked a café near her location and sent the address to Lin.Xue sat beside her, drinking the coffee Hui had bought while keeping an eye on her.'Let time take its course. 38. SWEET MORNING

Despite the sun and its rays, the fall had a chill of its own. The college was back in session, with a new semester beginning and a fresh start for many first year students.The path leading into the college was bustling with students. There were new faces, familiar ones, and even a few dressed in full goth attire. Students and staff arrived in cars, some rode in on motorcycles. Nina and Mei were enrolled in different courses. Nina had her mind set on business, while Mei was majoring in design. Classes were slow-paced on the first day, leaving everyone with some room to breathe.Xue was running late, too.
