Sitting back and listening, Billy was learning a lot about interview techniques and was aggrevated that this guy was so good at his job. 22. On the Edge of Despair

Under the circumstances, they had decided to stay in town over the weekend and Lili tried to sit at her computer and type with just one hand. It was slow going and frustrating and she was so disconnected from the characters that she had been writing about, that she soon gave up. Instead she sat outside with the computer and read each chapter slowly, trying to get to know Gio and Hannah and make them a part of her daily life again. 23. The Stolen Notebook

Anders and Stacey couldn't believe their eyes as they read the contents of the notebook and it explained the desperate nature of Hal's behavior before his death and the attempts on Lili's life. They were silent on the drive back to the station and were afraid to speak out loud what they just learned. Hal had gotten himself mixed up in some serious corruption on the dark web. His enemies were to be feared. Within the hour all of the copies had been made and turned into the post office. Then they sat down and scanned the notebook for any high priority information. 24. One Step at a Time

Days were moving so slowly as the investigation was humming along, but Finn was glad to have Lili by his side while he sat at their kitchen table working. 25. Under the Covers

Waking up in the morning, their bodies were intertwined and tangled in the blankets. Lili smelled his musky scent and knew that among all of the chaos in their world, he was the one solid anchor that kept her afloat. 27. Warning Shots

Instead of going home, Anders drove over to Billy's house and knocked on the backdoor, yelling "Anyone home?" Cindy walked back as she wiped her hands from cleaning up in the kitchen and said, "Anders, what a nice surprise. We are just sitting down to dinner. You shall join us." 28. Fresh Paint

Someone was covered from head to toe in a light yellow paint and may have accidentally stepped in the paint tray. There may or may not be a few footprints across the old tile floor that is being ripped out anyways. Someone else, might have taken the paint brush and turned, accidentally on purpose and painted the back of whoever was in the room. Long red hair with new yellow highlights! It had been three months since the day of the shooting and Christmas was a month away. 29. The Wind Through the Trees

The wind was starting to pick up and a storm was brewing on the horizon as Finn and Lili jumped in the truck. They were heading over to Billy and Cindy's for dinner with Anders and Stacey. Billy still wasn't back to work and the recovery was taking longer than expected, but Finn wondered if Billy just really enjoyed being pampered by Cindy. 30. After the Storm

The smell of coffee permeated the kitchen and the fire gave off some heat as the inhabitants of the house started to wake up. The sound of chain saws could be heard in the distance and morning brains started to seek coffee to function and face the aftermath of the storm. Finn was already up with Billy, stoking the fires in the fireplaces and making the coffee using their generator.
