The wolf is my addiction now, an illicit attraction, and therefore a crime my mouth commits just thinking of him. I don’t think of the consequences this sin will bring, yielding as I do to the desires of his criminal mouth. He drove with a fury, hatred, and loss of control that roared within him. The thirst for vengeance against that bastard intensified; his breathing grew increasingly ragged as he neared the agreed-upon meeting place. Adrenaline surged, triggering a deranged urge—a terrible desire to end Luca’s life with a single gunshot. The wolf would blow his brains out. No one had ordered him to meddle in his affairs. He had Luna under his control, and he wanted her for himself, just as his father had asked. Not in the hands of the enemy—in this case, the head of the Italian mafia. The girl was his, and tonight he would rescue her."I’ve arrived. If I have everything under control, I don't want any interference, understood? Over," he spoke through the comms."Understood, boss. Ov

Scared to DeathNew York City.6 months earlier. The day promises cold weather; a grayish panorama is expected during this time of year in the city that never sleeps. It's winter. I grab a beige trench coat from the hanger and check myself in the mirror. Today I've decided to wear a white knee-length dress, matching stilettos, and minimal makeup. My straight brown hair is pulled back into an updo, with a few bangs framing my forehead. I look decent enough, so after making sure everything is in place, I can head off to work. And I really need to hurry.Time is running out!I arrive at the parking garage, press the remote button to unlock the doors, and the white Porsche flashes its headlights. I walk over to the car and climb inside. I merge into the tedious, terrible traffic—no helping it. While waiting, I turn on the radio, but it fails to play a tune that calms my impatience. Quite the opposite: the announcer drones on, repeating the time. It's five minutes before eight-thirty!I ha

Then I find myself looking around the huge space I'm in. What could I do within these four enormous walls? If only time would stop; if only I could escape. My eyes anchor on the doorknob. Turning it will be in vain, yet with the delusional hope that it might grant me freedom, I walk over and twist it. But it's locked.Damn it, I'm locked in. Which shouldn't surprise me, but it still hurts, brings helplessness, and infuriates me all at once. I clench my teeth.I return to the bed and settle against the pillows. In the midst of despair, the questions frequently return. Issues pile up in my head—tangled thoughts that offer no help, merely weaving hypotheses and false alarms. I genuinely try to make sense of my kidnapping, but I find no connection between the Russian mafia and my family. Uncertainty rocks me like a swing moving back and forth; I know nothing about these guys. But... what information do they have on us?I can't take this with sanity. I need to clarify the causes—something

The attractive redhead steps inside, making a point of hitting on me with her flirtatiousness. She thinks she's hooking me, but in reality, I'm the one doing the catching—no one traps me. Her expressive greenish-gray eyes waste no time looking at me with double intentions, batting her eyelashes seductively. Her methods are ridiculous—an old-fashioned interlude that fails to capture my interest. The brief affair we had should remain just that: a simple fling, but she can't get over it."Alek, I brought you your favorite tea. Thought you might need it. How are you?" she inquires, placing the cup containing the steaming liquid on my desk. Am I supposed to say thank you? "And here are the documents. Sorry for the delay, but I wouldn't be this overworked if you had an assistant too."She has a point, but if she focused solely on her work, she'd be more productive. I cast my eyes toward the hot beverage and take a sip. It's just the way I like it; no doubt she wants something. I intuit she'

He frees my ankles and wrists from their oppressive imprisonment. But he is not done with the hellscape. Picking up where he left off, he dresses quickly while I remain naked. He yanks my arm, forcing me to walk over to the wall. I stand with my back against it, trembling as I wait solely for the lashes. He is going to whip me. My legs already buckle; it is going to hurt.Without delay, he flogs me with unsparing fury, refusing to stop. The burning sensation is unbearable, every inch of my back tearing open under his wrath. I can no longer endure it; unceasing sobs rip from my throat, tearing me apart both inside and out.His strength feels so severe it borders on the supernatural."Please, stop, I'm begging you!" I cry out, utterly spent. The plea is all I can manage before slipping away into unconsciousness."You're going to die, damn you!" he roars, sealing my fate. His words come true as the light plunges into darkness in a fraction of a second....It burns—a living bonfire blazi
