11. Blood Bond
Tamara set her phone down and continued to look up at Fenrir who stared down at her. She had no idea suddenly what to think of him, because she trusted Max. But not human? Just what could this man possibly be? It had to be magic involved. It was the only thing she could think of. An enchantment that kept him the way he was for so long. Some kind of warlord from times long passed? He had the look of one, or rather the air of one she guessed. Someone that knew how to fight and meant business. Honestly she’d not really thought people would be as healthy or good looking as he was. He had perfect teeth for crying out loud, they didn’t have dental way back when.“Why are you still here Fenrir?” She asked suddenly even though he had no voice. “Why are you still in my home when it seems pretty clear you could go anytime you wanted to.” She more demanded, because now with that ca

12. Show Me
Tamara pinched the bridge of her nose. She had no idea what to believe at the moment. While she thought she had a clear level head, it didn’t feel like it now. She still wasn’t sure she believed in beings other than special humans. But she took Max’s warning to heart and started to research anew. She just didn’t know if she could get her head wrapped around what it would mean if she was wrong, and what Max said was right. If by chance Fenrir was the real deal, he should be a fucking giant wolf. She didn’t mean a two hundred pound cujo. She meant like crush your house under foot kind of giant. She was pretty sure she didn’t see any giants wandering around nowadays. But according to Norse legend there were realms, nine of them in fact and one of them was where giants were from. To top it off Fenrir had two siblings, one of them was named Hel. So what the fuck? Who were the

13. Flying
“You sure Fenrir? Seriously it’ll be fine. I’m coming back and I don’t think that flying is smart for you.” She also wasn’t sure about bringing him. Might be better to take the chance to leave him, but he didn’t want to stay. She was lucky to have even gotten him a ticket to come with her to this conference in New York City. She was giving a talk and then it was a social event afterward. A lot of chit chat that she didn’t always care for. She had to keep the contacts, and they liked touching base with her and the unique services she offered.  It’s fine. He mouthed to her as they stood in the terminal. He felt antsy but otherwise okay. She’d told him they had drugs to help with anxiety because it was going to be a smaller space. He felt he could deal with it, and she wasn’t going without him. More because he didn’t think she was safe than she wouldn’t co

14. Make Me
Tamara was glad when they landed. She didn’t know if he was going to be able to get back on a plane after that. At least he hadn’t done anything crazy, like turn into a wolf. A couple times she felt his skin ripple. She’d watched him but he stayed calm on the surface. Waiting to get off the plane, completely different. If she hadn’t been standing in front of him, she had a feeling that he’d have shoved them out of his way to get off the damn thing. She was glad that they had seats closer to the exit. However he clearly didn’t mind taking hold of her again. She’d been flush against him as they waited in the aisle. He was tense, and she felt a rumble in his chest. She hadn’t protested his hold on her and figured that being more relaxed would take the edge away from him some if he was taking cues from her.

14. Competition
They were silent for the ride to the conference and came to a building with a lot of stairs in the front. Kind of looked like a museum. At least from pictures he saw of what museums looked like. There were well dressed people going up the stairs and he got out narrowing his eyes at the man that opened his door and then the one that did it for Tamara. What were they doing, did they want something? Were they slaves or just servants? He’d seen both and neither looked like they were treated poorly. “Okay, so it will be a decent crowd, you okay with that?” He shrugged, not the answer she was looking for and she noted the way that he eyed up the attendants who were parking cars. This was going to be great, she thought that sarcastically. Though she felt a laugh, looked like she was going to learn how to socialize a wolf. “They don&

15. No Coincidences
Tamara finally got up to talk and he watched her intently. Also looked around the room as well. It was clear most seemed interested in what she had to say, and she was a good speaker. Clearly done this a hundred times, he felt edgy sitting here. Really like someone was going to come up and  recognize him and try something. Like he was waiting to be forced back into the black nothing or servitude. Which so far he hadn’t seen anything but humans here. Though he did catch the occasional scent of a hybrid or two, but they didn’t seem to know what they were.He glanced over at Josh and he was listening to Tamara speak. Also watching her with a bit more attention than what she had to say. He stared at the man a bit, didn’t like him at all. Tamara ended her speech and a round of applause went up for her. She came back to the table and sat down. She gave a few smiles but looked relieved. He

16. To Stop A Wolf
“Tamara!” Someone called and she felt like dropping her shoulders in defeat. She was trying to get out of here. Why did she feel like everyone wanted to talk to her all of a sudden? “Yes?” She said turning and Josh was coming up to her. He was smiling and had a drink in his hand. She glanced at Fenrir. To him she spoke very softly. “Don’t do anything, he isn’t worth it got me?” She was stern in her half whisper. He was facing her with his back to Josh. He didn’t nod or indicate anything, just looked right at her with nothing in his gaze. God she hoped what Josh wanted was quick. She had a feeling that Fenrir wasn’t going to put up with much. He saw the man as a problem, she didn’t doubt he got rid of his problems permanently. Why’d she have to get stuck with a man who had a dark zero to sixty personality? She gav

17. Desirable Distraction
“Fenrir.” Tamara said calmly. Okay not what she thought he’d suddenly do. She was staying rather still. Here wasn’t where she wanted this to happen and she’d rather get out of this place. He didn’t respond to her saying his name calmly. He did however hike the skirt of her dress up harshly and she moved slightly as he’d let go of her neck for a moment to do so. At her movement he took hold again and forced her back down to the desk. “Fenrir here isn’t smart. I’m not going anywhere. Just not here.” She said because one, he still looked really dark and she’d like him to not start hurting her. Two it really wasn’t the time or place. He leaned over her and his hand slid up from her neck into her hair gripping it. He moved so his face was close to hers looking at her. Now.

18. Bid For A Necklace
Tamara took a slow breath in and then let it out. Her hands were braced on the edge of the table in front of her. She bit her lip rather harshly suppressing the moan she felt. Fenrir gripped her hips having ground into her a final time holding her where she was. Demanding was what he was. Very demanding and if he wanted her he was going to have her.  He moved after a minute pulling from her with deliberate slowness before sitting but brought her with so she was sitting on him. A hand bunched in her hair and she was letting her breathing and heartbeat come back down. She enjoyed the contact, but she wished he’d relax for a moment. Then again when you were locked underground for a millennia, and your life sucked before that, she guessed she’d be a bit more needy too. “You know, I am trying to find out about your sister. You could relax and wait. I’m not go

19. Sibling Chains
“Hello?” Tamara cautiously spoke as she answered the phone. “Tamara, it’s Max. Just got your message and I was able to get a phone.” She sighed. “Max, I’ve been worried. Are you okay? Where are you?” “I don’t want to say, but I’m being chased. I have Surt after me for sure. He knows that I sent Fenrir somewhere and he wants to know where. He hasn’t caught me yet.” Max said and he sounded tired in her opinion. “Max we have another issue. Hel’s necklace has been stolen, me and Fenrir saw the image and he knew what it was.” She explained a bit more because Max had no idea that there even was a necklace. He was also filled in a bit more about Hel.  “Are you okay Tamara? He hasn’t hurt you has he, or done anything?” He a
