Cirdan  Look but not touch. That is the Council golden rule when it comes to me and my mate, in fact it was look from afar too. If my parents were not there, I would have told them exactly where they should put their commands so that I would know that I really warrant the punishment sent my way.  It was a good thing that I had proposed to Iris two nights before we were separated, now if only we could find a way for us to meet without Iris thinking that I would be punished further.  “Do you think that it is a good idea to tell Finn of your plans to meet with Iris?” Vane asked and I paused in the letter I was writing to Finn. I could not very well meet Finn face to face because he was always with Iris and I did not want her alone. That only left the option of writing to him, old school fashion because I am starting to suspect that the council did something to monitor our phones and the texts sent

IRIS My head felt like it wanted to split open, that was what woke me up. I groaned even as I sat up. A thick weight was on my hand as I tried to lift it to my head so I stopped bothering about lifting my hands to my head and focused on getting my head to reduce banging. When it did, I tried to open my eyes but the light made me whimper as I started to cry.  “I will kill that fairy, I will break her wings and shove it up her ass.” My mother said, not in her usual shouting voice but rather in a calm way that felt even deadlier as the words ghosted over my skin and raised goosebumps in my hand.  “Get in line.” My father replied in that same tone, a second before I felt the bed dip as extra weight landed on my side.  “Papa.” I called in a small vulnerable voice, using a name which I rarely used since I was seven. I felt him tense before he placed his ha

Cirdan  I was sitting, arms hugging my legs to my chest, starring at the wall of my room when the news came in.  No, that was not right, I have taken this position for days now, ever since I was released home, I haven’t really talked, eat or move. i kept my mind blank and it helped with the pain.  “Cirdan, the king is here for you.” My mother said softly and it took me some minutes to process her words, what was the king looking for.  It took me some more minutes to make myself presentable and then I presented myself to the king who was pacing the foyer like he had a lot on his mind.  He was a king and he must have a lot on his mind.  “Your majesty.” I announced my presence as I swept into a low bow that almost had me stumbling, my stomach growled, I haven’t been eating much.

KING ELROS  “Perfect father, perfect king, perfect everything.” Nambra spat in hatred as she paced in front of me. “You did such a terrific job in raising Iris that she didn’t even want to know me, her mother. I had to bring her back somehow, I needed her for this purpose. I specifically went after one of the council members to father her because of my vision. She had to be on faery for it to work.” I froze, trying to comprehend what Nambra was saying. “Iris… is no mistake?”  Nambra snorted. “Even if I had told you that she was a mistake, you should have believed something else, for goodness sake, I am the queen of the light fae, you think that I would allow a child I did not want to be born to even conceive. I did not bear the ridicule and gossips for a mistake.”  “But you clearly said she was a mistake, faes don&rsquo

Iris “What do you mean that my father is missing?” I snapped at Finn who shifted away from me as if he could escape my rage that way.  “He has not been seen in over three days and none of his retainers knows anything about where he is. If he is not found in the next four days, you would be pulled out of school so that you can hold the position down for him until his body is found.” Finn explained but my head was banging, like I was fighting a war with myself.  “Stop talking, nothing has happened to my father, he probably took a breather.”  “He didn’t iris.” Finn said, his eyes was filled with sympathy and pity, something which I just could not tolerate right now. My father was okay. I know that, he just needs to realize that too. “His people would be aware.”  “He is a king Finn, Kings don&

“What about Iris…” Finn asked cautiously as he walked side by side with me or rather Gader’el, they were currently at my mother’s castle and getting closer to my mother.  “Weak and has given up.” Gader’el replied and he was not wrong, I had no will to even try clawing my way back, not when my father was missing and presumed dead while my mother, the woman who birthed me was the one who placed something else in my body with me.  “But she is still alive right.” Finn asked but Gader’el paused at looked at Finn.  “You like her.” Gader’el tilted his head to the side. “You are in love with her even though she doesn’t even think of you that way.”  “You don’t know that.” Finn replied, his face growing red.  “I

Cirdan The king is missing, and I was one of the last people to see him but I knew more than any other person what could have happened to the king or where he went. He went to confront the light fae queen and then he went missing. That was not a coincidence but before I could do anything, I needed to inform Iris about her father. She was in a better position to help him out of the queen clutches and besides she must be going crazy with worry.  I would need to sneak into school and see Iris but for that, I would need a disguise, something that would hide me completely from others but my mate. She would recognize me and it would be easier to do this.  Now all I had to do was to leave the ever watchful gaze of my mother without causing her to raise an alarm. And that was not going to be easy.  “You have not been eating well for some time now Cirdan, I am worried.” The woman in

Cirdan  The first place I should have started from in searching for King Elros was the queen palace, I really never thought that she would be egotistical enough to try and hide him close to her, or so I thought.  I was already down to one day and I was panicking. I had not gone home in two days even though I sent words to my father that I was alright and he should start amassing the army of the Folk very quietly that there will be a sign and then they can charge forward.  I knew that I should be looking for my mate but I did not even know how to start or where to start from. At least to some extent I knew where the king would be or who took him. The queen would not have kidnapped King Elros if he had not stumbled unto something, I was seriously hoping that, that something could help Iris and whatever was happening tomorrow.  The Light castle was empty. The guards were few as if th

I got to the cliff just in time to see Iris chanting.  “No, Iris stop.” I yelled, Iris paused, froze a millisecond and then continued.  “What are you doing here boy?” Nambra stepped in front of me to prevent me from moving forward.  “Trying to prevent my mate from opening a portal to hell. Iris if you can hear me, fight him.”  Nambra chuckled. “You silly boy, Iris is long gone.” My heart stuttered.  “You are lying, she would never choose to give up.” And at that moment, Iris groaned. That gave me hope to try and reach her again.  “She is fighting me…” The demon gritted through Iris mouth.  “Chant and get your pack here, they will help ground you.” Nambra ordered and I shook my head.

IRIS “I am sorry for your loss.” The shifter king said, I didn’t even bother with knowing his name, the council had introduced their selves to me, thanking me for saving them from my power corrupt mother and they were more willing to be allies now but I did not want anything to do with them. Not after they prevented me and Cirdan from being together and were the cause of this.   It could all be traced back to them and they knew it, they felt guilty and are trying to appeal to their conscience.  “That loss you are referring to better be the loss of a mother who was not a mother or else.” I threatened the shifted king, my eyes shifted to red.  The past few days, everybody learnt not to fear when my eyes shifted, brown were I was normal, red was when my powers were coming active which was often these days and black or swirling black was the entity which
