CHAPTER 41 - First Steps To Forgiveness

SKYLER'S POV ***FLASHBACK CONT'*** I head into one of the baby stores, walk around for a little while, and then pick up a few things for Marcus. I also grab a couple of things for Samuel and Emma before picking up a couple of neutral-coloured items to surprise Katie with when I get back. I go to the counter and pay for everything and once I leave the store, one of the guards approaches. "Luna, may I take and carry them for you?" I smile. "You don't have to do that." "I know Luna, I want to." I nod and hand him the couple of bags full of the baby stuff I just bought. I then head to the formal store, knowing that I still need to find something nice for the Blood Moon Celebrations coming. When I get to the formal store, the guard with my bags sits down on one of the benches a

CHAPTER 42 - A Brother's Explaination!

COLE'S POV After my fight with Nathan and Xaiden, we have never really settled anything unless we fight each other over it. I apologised and explained to him what happened that night, that I had lost complete control over Xander allowing his jealously get the better of both of us, Xander apologised to them as well saying he didn't realise that she was still innocent at the time and that being the oldest the jealously that surfaced from how she was with them made him believe he deserved to have her first. Once we couldn't hit each other anymore, we just lay on the ground and looked up at the tops of the trees, the stars, and the small sliver of moon that was in the sky. We came to the agreement that really there was nothing he could do about the fact that I will at some stage, need to be alone with Skyler to complete the marking and re-enforce the weak mate bond we currently share. I just promised that I would make sure that Skyler was comple

Chapter 43 - A Spy

COLE'S POV I have missed so much over the years, but there was no way I could have come back sooner, as I wasn't prepared to admit to myself, let alone to Elijah and Nathan, what I had done. I wasn't ready to receive Skyler's forgiveness. That would have only been brought on by the mate bond I had started by marking her. I slow as I get to the border. I then hear some voices that I don't recognize. So I cover my scent, move silently closer, and stay hidden in some bushes nearby. "So, what's the report?" "Alpha James and Luna Jen arrived this morning. Luna Jen is close to giving birth and plans to do it here. Alpha Cole has returned... The New moon celebration is planned for 3 days' time." "Good, the Alpha will be pleased with this and he can do some of his own recon at the New Moon celebration." "Does he have an invitation?" "No! I guess you will need to get him one!" "I think she is se

Chapter 44 - Still Trying To Trust

SKYLER'S POV Finding out what my father had planned for me on my 18th birthday was a shock, especially as he only seemed to be happy when he was punishing me, but then that would be the ultimate punishment, making me take my mother's place. I am brought out of my shock when Samuel, Emma, Marcus, Cooper, Ruby and Samantha all come running up to us yelling, "WHAT'S FOR LUNCH??" I smile and crouch down and ask, "Okay, what did you pups want for lunch?" "Mac and cheese or sandwiches?" I laugh as I get a unanimous, "MAC AND CHEESE!" "Okay, let's head inside so you all can wash your hands and I can make lunch..." They all run back inside our home. As I stand to follow them, I look around and notice that Cole has disappeared. I sigh and head inside, knowing that if I take much longer, the pups will be back out pestering me again. Once inside and in the kitchen, I make 3 b

Chapter 45 - Preparations

SKYLER'S POV He then gets up and walks out the back door. I sigh. As much as I need him, I still can't seem to get past what he did. The trust I gave him knowing that he was an Alpha, that he had saved me from my father's punishments and showed me that there was more to life than chores and pain. I never expected to find my mate, but I also knew that if I ever did, then he would want to enjoy my body. I was just hoping that my mate would make love with me instead of just taking it. I sigh again as I look out the door and see him shift and run off into the woods. I am no longer hungry and Alice is growling and pacing in my head. I turn inward, "Alice, what's wrong?" "YOU NEED TO TRUST HIM!!!" "I... I... I can't... What if he does it again?" "WE NEED HIM!!" "NO! ALICE! YOU NEED HIM... XANDER IS CONNECTED TO YOU BUT

Chapter 46 - New Moon Celebration

SKYLER'S POV Once inside, I stand off to the side of the door and personally welcome everyone as they enter. It isn't long before some of the outside Alpha's start to arrive. After a while, I move from the door and over to one of the refreshment tables. I take a small glass of water as my stomach rolls a little. I put the glass down and jump a little as 2 arms wrap around me from behind. I smile and relax as I feel warmth and butterflies skim over my skin. Nathan then whispers into my ear, "Angel? Will you dance with me?" I turn in his arms and nod. Nathan then leads me onto the dance floor, making me laugh as he spins me around. He then pulls me into his arms, and we dance around the dance floor. We continue to dance until at least 5 songs have passed before he allows me to stop and walks me back over to the refreshments table so I can have another glass of water. Elijah then approaches us, giving me a kiss and wrappin

CHAPTER 47 - Alpha Christopher Jackson

ALPHA CHRISTOPHER'S POV I sit at my desk doing some paperwork when I look over and spot the last family photo I received from my sister-in-law. I haven't heard from my brother David or my sister-in-law Catherine in nearly 17 years. This means that I haven't seen either my niece or nephew in all those years. Now, James should nearly be ready to take over David's place as Alpha and I have wondered over the last few years if Skyler, my little rabbit, had found her mate yet. Now, over the years, I have heard some rumours floating around that Catherine was killed in a rogue attack, leaving David to look after the pups. Now I don't know who true it is, but I have never been able to verify it. I have spies in a whole heap of different packs. Unfortunately, I could never get one into David's pack, especially after the rumoured report of Catherine's death. It was like he just shut the pack down, one of my allies said that Alpha's could visit but David had change

Chapter 48 - A Suspicious Visitor

COLE'S POV I can't believe Alexander was right. Skyler isn't the shy little wolf that I saved from the abuse of her father. The years with Elijah and Nathan by her side have brought the Skyler, that should have been to the surface and she is shining in her Luna role. After my confrontation with Skyler about her celebration and she stormed out, I felt so stupid because she was right. She had put a lot of work into organising this celebration and to have so many Alphas agreeing to come and her accepting them within a certain distance of her is an accomplishment in itself, especially with how scared she used to be of Alpha's in general including us. I decide to go and see Alexander once again. When I get to his office, I knock on the doorframe. He looks up and smiles as he says, "From the look on your face, she didn't go for cancelling the celebration..." He then laughs, "She kicked you out, didn't she?" "She tried, but then storm

Chapter 49 - Re-Earning To Be Alpha

COLE'S POV I then open my link to my brothers and hope that when it comes to something to do with Skyler and her safety, they will believe me. "Elijah? Nathan?" "What is it, Cole?" They both answer together, "This male is not what he seems. I have a feeling that he is the one that's not meant to be here... Xander says he is lying and is fishing for some sort of information about Skyler. Please be careful with what you tell him!" "You may be right, as I felt the lie too. He will not get any information out of us!" Elijah and Xavier say to me and then he closes the link, focusing back on the Alpha threat in front of him, saying, "He was attacking packs, had taken one of the Luna's hostage, and her mate killed him..." "Why on earth would he do that?" I watch as Skyler shivers in Elijah's arms and I feel the intense wave of fear that trave

Chapter 50 - Information Extraction

ALPHA CHRISTOPHER I re-entered the Royal Blood Moon territory with permission as I was meeting with at least 2 out of the 3 Mason Alphas. I must find out exactly why the 3rd brother won't be there. I head into the packhouse making my way to the Alpha office. As I enter, I smile as I bump into James. This now gives me the greatest opportunity to find out more information about what happened with my brother. He looks at me in surprise. "Uncle Christopher?" "James... Sorry, it's Alpha James now, right?" "Yes... Uncle, what are you doing here?" "I was invited to the celebration last night and heard you were here and thought I would see if we could catch up..." "Of course, just give me a sec." I follow as he moves down the hall and ducks into one of the guest rooms. I hear him talk to a female and cringe. He is his mother's son. After a short time, he exits the room and rejoins me in the hal
