Selena   I follow Kane downstairs.  He walks with his head held high, and I wish I had the same confidence he has. Yet, all I do is try to hide behind his back.    Kane pulls me to the bar and lifts me onto the stool like I weigh nothing. He leans over the bar and gestures to a woman to come toward him. Immediately, a wide grin appears on her lips, and I already don't like her.    Perhaps for a reason because as soon as her eyes set on me, her face twists in disgust.    "Sam, can you help me out a little?" Kane asks her.   "Sure thing, boss, what's up?"   

Kane Sam wraps her hand around my wrist and pushes my hand away from her neck. "I've loved you since the first time we met. I've spent countless sleepless nights dreaming of this moment. I was afraid it would never happen, especially after you claimed that human at the ceremony. But I didn't lose hope." She tries to move closer, but everything about her disgusts me. "I'm ready to give myself to you. Accept me, mark me, and make me yours. I promise I'll be a perfect mate. Better than your wildest dreams." Desperation resonates in her voice.  I force my hand back on her neck and squeeze it tighter. "Is that so?" Each word leaves my lips like a hateful hiss.  I want to break Sam beyond repair. I want to scar her heart and soul before I kill this bitch. 

Luna   Kane is close, but he's heading in the opposite direction. Unless the human tells him something, no one will find out I was here. I don't stop until I get out of the woods and reach the clearing. I'm late this time, but I'm sure she's waiting for me.   My gaze scans the surroundings, and I instantly hiss under my breath. She had to do only one thing, and she still failed. Typical fucking human.   After a few minutes, the black car finally parks near me. I open the door and jump into the passenger seat. "Do you have any idea what kind of trouble I'd get into if you were any later than you already are?" I growl at her as she's about to drive off. The human has the gall to roll

Kane Our conversation ended as soon as we stepped out of the forest. Onyx and I agreed that we had already told Beatrice too much, so the silence was necessary. She leaves when we reach the bar; even Beatrice understands that Selena needs more sleep. Onyx backs up and lets me take full control of my body. God damn, finally.  As I carry Selena into the bar, the noise dies down, and everyone looks at us. I nod at them, and all the shifters leave the bar without a word. A wise decision, to cherish their fucking lives.  I head upstairs, and it's not until I enter the apartment that I relax. Now Selena is where she needs to be, and she'll be safe as long as I'm around.  

Luna I left the stupid human in the middle of nowhere. Instead of letting her drive me to the packhouse, I decided to shift and run back home. As I approach the gardens, everyone eyes me suspiciously. I don't tend to shift at all.  Since my wolf is weaker and smaller than others, it's pretty challenging to play an important role and show her off.  I mind-link one of my maids to bring me clothes and distract everyone from me.  Even though wolves have no problem with nudity, I can't stay naked for long.
