Lahat ng Kabanata ng My Mate is the Alpha: Kabanata 61 - Kabanata 70

A few more days have passed since Amelia Crawford's unexpected visit. My back pains continued to manifest more and more each day as my stomach swelled, throwing off my center of gravity by much. It was odd how quickly it was growing and how the changes within a short period of time were incredibly noticeable at a glance. Because of this, Dylan has been stubbornly insisting on doing everything for me—even giving me a bath on days that I failed to persuade him not to. Although, I did like the extra attention if I were being honest. Thus, besides my pregnancy, our days have been pretty much uneventful. Or at least that was the case for us.Having a television meant having easy access to current news instantly. Riots were still rampant all over the country while businesses handled by packs who lost their leaders were still struggling with getting back on their feet. Enzo has also probably branched out to different cities with his agenda, distributing free silver

The sun began to peek through the horizon, bathing the city in a golden early morning glow that reminded me of Dylan's eyes. I've never really taken a moment to simply admire the sunrise so I didn't realize until now how mesmerizing it was to witness the city slowly waking up as it went higher up in the sky. It was such a shame that instead of seeing the usual bustle in this part of the city, my eyes only caught sight of the aftermath of the rampage that went on the night before. As the birds chirped along the nearly deserted sidewalks, I peeled my gaze off of the road, disturbed by the bodies that were laying on the ground. There were brownish spots on the pavement—most likely dried blood. I often saw someone flinch but most of them just laid motionlessly. All these were happening because of some stupid social class division that we made for ourselves, but once they were all devoid of life, it was barely possible to tell which was a human or a werewolf.

Dylan couldn't help but shake his leg in anxiety as he looked at the passing buildings through the tinted windows. His eyes feasted on the sight of the aftermath of even worse riots and rampages at the capital, but his mind wandered off to his mate. "I should be over there," he mumbled to himself before biting his lower lip so hard that it bled. His nails dug into his palms as he clenched his hands into fists. "I shouldn't leave her alone like this."Dr. Johnson, with the help of the cabin crew, had set up a makeshift operating room at the aircraft since transporting Isabella to a proper medical facility was too risky, considering that her pregnancy was a little out of ordinary in the first place. He insisted to stay and wait until the surgery was over but Enzo convinced him at it would be better to make use of that time instead to plan out the attack properly. Dylan thought that the sooner it was over, the sooner he could come back to Isabella…and his child. "So, this is where the building is," Enzo explained as he pointed to a particular spot in the map that he laid down on the table. The rebels, along with Amelia and Dylan, leaned in to get a closer look. "As expected, it's quite far from the presidential estate. It might be around an hour and a half drive from there but Lance and I will be going out first thing in the morning tomorrow to confirm that."Dylan looked at him as he talked. There was a slight hint of redness in the corner of his eyes but despite his pale skin, it wasn't so bad that it was noticeable at first glance. Perhaps it was quite easy for him to detect it since he witnessed him crying his eyeballs out just a few hours ago. The stroll back to the inn was silent but nowhere near uncomfortable. It was almost like they reached some level of closeness due to the event, but once they walked out through the cemetery gates, neither of them spoke about it."A larger team will be dispatched here," Enzo c

I rocked Felix in my arms back and forth as I studied the scenery outside through the windows. The inn was run-down, blending in perfectly with the equally shady and unkempt establishments outside that lined the cracked streets. Beside from Dr. Johnson who had been constantly checking in with Felix and I as well as personally delivering my meals, I haven't been seeing anyone else for the past couple of days at least. Being locked up in this room, although undeniably spacious enough to get my daily step count in, was almost making me feel claustrophobic and lose my sense of time. After confirming that Felix was finally asleep, I gently and slowly tucked him into his crib. He groaned softly and moved to hug his favorite pillow. I smiled at the sight before turning to the now-empty wall facing the bed. The white walls had a few stains and cracks but the drill holes were especially prominent. There used to be a mounted television there but, per Enzo's instructions, was removed. He pr
