Chapter 21
Felix parked the car out of sight of the road and a couple of miles away from the area where I saw all of the activity this morning. Well at least this is where I think the activity was. I am still getting the hang of using my powers and it isn’t exactly as though I see a map in my head showing me where people are. It is more like I can use the connection that I feel to the other members of the pack to get a feeling for where they are. I can tell what direction they are relative to me and approximately how far away they are. That was how I worked out where to look but it was also why I couldn’t be 100% sure that this was the right area. It is the right direction though, of that I am almost certain. “What are we looking for?” Felix asked as we all got out of the car. “I am not sure, anything unusual.” I said. “This whole thing seems like a waste of time to me.” Felix complained. He wasn’t as frustrated as he was when we set off. One the way over here he kept glancing at Ava i

Chapter 22
The cinema was quiet, almost empty which meant we had our pick of seats. Ryker and I sat down in two of the seats near the centre of the room. Ava made her way to follow us until Felix wrapped his arms around her waist to stop her. “What are you doing?” She asked, her voice shrill and her eyes darted around the room in fear. She didn’t want anyone to see him with his arms around her. “I thought we could sit over there.” Felix said, pointing towards a quiet corner of the cinema. Ava’s gaze flickered over to where Felix was pointing before looking around the room nervously again. She tried to remove his arms from her waist but he just gripped her tighter. “I don’t think that is a good idea.” Ava said. “What is wrong, you are acting as though you are ashamed of being seen with me.” Felix asked, the hurt was clear on his face. “It’s not like that.” Ava said, her voice carried a note of panic in it. There were only a few other people in the cinema but they were all looking at us.

Chapter 23
Elijah still had some pack business to deal with so he took me to his office. The room was set up with a separate desk for me. The desk hadn’t been here when he showed me around yesterday. I guess he must have set this up for me while I was meant to be at school. That made me feel even more guilty for sneaking out and upsetting him. I was about to take my place at my new desk but he insisted on me bringing the laptop and chair over to his desk. He got me to set up my laptop then shared with me a whole bunch of information about the pack and the various businesses his family owned. While I looked over all the information Elijah was replying to emails on pack business. I am sure that he would be done much faster if he typed with both his hands but he seemed very reluctant to let go of my hand. I guess he was still a little upset about me putting myself in a dangerous position earlier. It was a little extreme though, I wasn’t going anywhere and typing one handedly is annoying as fuck.

Chapter 24
Elijah’s mom wanted to do some planning for my luna ceremony after dinner but Elijah said he needed me for something else. I think I have a good idea of what he was planning judging from his earlier thoughts and I couldn’t wait to see what he had decided.. Elijah pulled me into his room, pulling me against his body as he closed and locked the door behind us. He kissed my neck and ran his teeth across my mark until my pulse quickened and I could feel myself getting wet. “You have been a very naughty little mate. Are you ready for your punishment?” He asked. “Yes please.” I replied. I could feel the corners of his lips turning up against my neck. He had me exactly where he wanted me and he knew it. “You are eager, I like it.” He said. He kissed me once more on my neck before taking a step back. He removed his hands from my waist, he took my hands in his and pulled me over towards the bed. Once I was standing beside the bed he let go of my hands and took a couple of large steps

Chapter 25
It’s going to be a while before I am used to having a mate. It feels like some alternate reality, I keep expecting to wake up from it at any moment and be back in my old room. Part of me doesn’t believe that I deserve anything so perfect. Elijah woke me up this morning by stroking my hair and planting soft kisses on my cheek. He was already dressed and ready for the day. He kissed me a few more times before he told me to get ready while he made us breakfast. When I got downstairs Elijah already had the food laid out on our kitchen table ready for us. While I was eating he got me to tell him everything I knew about my powers, which admittedly wasn’t much. When I told him that I could hear his thoughts I could see the panic on his face. His thoughts were all over the place, his panic was making them unfocused and I couldn’t keep up with them in the jumble. He was frowning. He didn’t look angry, just very unhappy. Maybe I should have told him sooner, this wasn’t good. My heart was ra

Chapter 26
I heard Elijah’s heart rate quicken instantly as adrenaline flooded his system. He was glancing around anxiously. He was trying to listen for any sign of the approaching threat but he wouldn’t be able to hear anything yet. They were still too far away for that. “What do they want?” He asked. I tried to tap into my power, I reached out for them but there is something wrong. I am not sure if it is a problem with me or with them. It could just be that I am stressed or not fully in control of my powers yet but I can’t feel anything from them. I can tell where they are and that they are in human form but that is all. “I can’t tell, they are approaching in human form and they have the building surrounded.” I said. “Do we have time to run?” Elijah asked, I could practically taste his anxiety. “I don’t think so.” I said. They were closing in on the house quickly. Maybe if I hadn’t been so distracted I would have noticed their approach earlier and we could have run. Running now would on

The second key was a lot easier to find than the first key. There weren’t really that many places to hide it in the small empty basement. Even by the light of my phone it was easy to see the spot where the bricks in the wall looked different from the rest of the room. The next part would be the hard part though. Whatever my parents had hidden for me was in one of the buildings in town but I had no idea which. If I had thought this far ahead I would have told Elijah to call at my old house so I could pick up the map but this whole thing was the embodiment of poor planning. I hadn’t thought any of this through before we set off so I had to rely on my not so perfect memory. From what I could remember the map pointed to one of the larger buildings at the centre of the village. So that seemed a good place to start, I set off towards the centre of the village with Elijah following closely behind. I didn’t want to resort to looking around each of the buildings in turn but I would if I had t

Chapter 28
It was early evening when we finally arrived back home. Getting into the room behind the door turned out to be easy, I did as Elijah suggested and the door opened straight away. It was moving the books and papers into the car that took most of the time. Why were there so many of them and why did they all have to be so heavy? “Can we just leave the books in the car tonight?” I complained as Elijah parked the car in the garage. Carrying all of those heavy books upstairs tonight was pretty much the last thing I wanted to do right now. “That probably isn’t a good idea with people looking for you. These books are clearly important. I can get some of the omegas to do it and put them in my office,” Elijah said, I could tell he was feeling just as tired as I was from the tone of his voice. I nodded my head in agreement. That was about as close to conversation as I could manage until I had eaten. I haven’t had anything to eat since breakfast and I was starting to feel more than a little wor

School was dull. I mean school was always dull but today was about ten times worse than usual because all I wanted was to be back at home with Elijah. Elijah was spending the day trying to work out who was sending the werewolves after me. He still had the ones who intruded on our territory in custody. They were due to be given back to their respective packs this weekend so he wanted to learn everything he could from them before then. I had tried to persuade him that I would be able to help or that my time would be better spent studying the books we found. It didn’t matter though, he wasn’t having any of it. He told me that my education was too important to ignore and forced me to go to school. I was going to have to find some way to graduate early. There was no way I could continue going to school every day when the pack was in danger and people were after me. It was such a waste of time. “Diana, where are you going? You better not be planning on sneaking out again,” Ryker said a

Chapter 30
Elijah took me straight home after the incident with Arthur even though there was still a few hours of school left. He kept at least one hand on me all the way home and I could feel the anxiety coming off him in waves. He must have already told the rest of the pack about what happened through mindlink. A few of them were waiting for us when we arrived. Elijah opened the car door and they came rushing over to us but as they got closer to me Elijah growled causing them to stop in their tracks. “Stay away from my mate,” he thought. I was still trying to block out his thoughts but right now he was shouting at the pack with his mind. There was no way I could block that out. I got out of the car and walked over to where Elijah was standing. He was looking at his own pack members as though they were a threat. I put my hand on his arm, drawing his attention towards me. “I could really do with a rest,” I said. “Of course,” Elijah said. He put his arms around my waist tightly and took me s
