Chapter 21 – Beauty Under the Moon
KELLEN Teal left me, turning and leaving the common area without another word after telling me the person was waiting for me in the armory. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me who would risk visiting me in the barracks at this time of night. As I made my way closer to the weapons rooms I caught the scent of Oranges and Sea salt. Conri was mentally whipping his tail around in my head, the scent of our mate driving his senses and hormones into a frenzy. My heartbeat picked up as I drew nearer to the entrance, realization dawning on me that my mate was here. Then came the worry. This was no place for a woman. I noticed two guards standing outside the room and as I approached they nodded their heads and stepped to the side allowing me entrance. As soon as I entered a figure in a black cloak turned to me, and my eyes met her cerulean blues. My heart beat furiously and my body began to tremble as I tracked the parting of her lips, a barely whispered gasp leaving her perfectly shape

Chapter 22 – Time to Watch
MIKE For the past couple of days, we had been working with Jonda who was able to get us access to the cameras that were active on the docks. We went back to the day Kellen had disappeared but we found nothing of use. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I have to admit I did enjoy my brief time around Jonda and if the circumstances were different I may have actually tried to hook up with her. The timing was wrong but I would take the little looks we would exchange with each other. The little lustful glances we shared would always leave me wanting more. Maybe after we had found Kellen I could pursue this profound Obsession I was developing for her. If I was completely honest with myself, the more time we searched the more it seemed he had truly disappeared and I feared that one day his body would turn up and we would never know what really happened to him. I knew he was still alive, neither I nor my wolf, Duke, had felt a disconnection from our King, but still, it didn’

Chapter 23 – Jonda
MIKE Neither Hunji nor I slept as we crossed the ocean, Tobias didn’t sleep either but that was due to him throwing up throughout the journey. “Fuck, I am so happy to be on dry land again!” Tobias had grumbled once we had made it to the Sea Dogs Island. He did look a little green and pasty. I chuckled at his complaining, it seemed there was something after all that could bring down the mighty Beta Bear. “I guess you can’t stomach as much as me, tell me again how tough you are big guy?” I mocked him, as he still clutched his stomach and stumbled slightly as he got his bearings. “Fuck you.” was all he replied. Jonda’s brother, Alpha John, was waiting for us once the boat had docked and greeted us as soon as we stepped off the gangway. He had the same deep auburn red hair as Jonda’s, but his eyes were crystal blue with a hint of green. Like most Alphas, he was tall and built, not quite my height and not as bulky as me, but he was a pretty good-sized Alpha. “Alpha John,” I greeted hi

Chapter 24 - Darrius
MIKE The Sea Dogs cells were nothing more than a warehouse with a hidden basement. They were dark, damp, and dank, and held the scent of the ocean. Darrius the wolf shifter, had been tied to a metal chair that was coated in a thin layer of silver. They had stripped him of all his clothing and left him there. The silver was enough to irritate the skin and slowly burn the back of his legs, ass, and balls, but not enough to do any real damage. It was a slow but constant form of torture. He lifted his head with a whimper when we walked into the large cold and barely lit room. His eyes were red and slightly swollen. Alpha Johns men had worked him over a little. It had already been decided that I, as Kellen’s Beta, would question the man, whereas Tobias would be the one inflicting the pain if need be. There would definitely be a need. Jonda took a seat at the side of the room and Hunji stood next to her, ready to intervene if and when needed. He looked more like her personal bodyguard i

Chapter 25 – We meet Again
Day 12 of The Games KELLEN Ajani finally healed and was able to join us for training in the common area this morning, although he was still recovering and a little on the stiff side, he was still one the best fighters here, aside from myself and Teal, Ajani was only second to Rogue. Often I had found myself wondering who Rogue really was. Or where he came from, once he had been taught to hold a sword properly and trained in fighting techniques, He embraced the role of a Gladiator with the heart of a warrior. He was a quick study, and picked things up easily, a natural like he was born to fight. I was sure if he had a voice he would be a great commander, his loyalty to me was sincere. Rogue had shadowed my every move, listening, learning, watching my back, and had I watched him strengthen and gain the respect of each Gladiator in the Barracks, he was becoming a force to reckon with and I appreciated him. I trusted Rogue. After the incident I saved him from, Rogue needed to show hi

Chapter 26 – An unexpected Bite
KELLEN I waited, somewhat patiently for Tala and Jasper, pacing the small room. The guards brought me to some kind of small structure that only housed a bathroom and living room. The guard said they called it their lounge where they could grab a coffee, or a few hours of kip in between making the rounds. The small building was at the far end of the south wall just after the female slave quarters. There were two desks on either side of the room, a couch sat in the middle accompanied by one leather chair and a small table, facing the window. The room was well lit by lamps and the only other door led to the bathroom. The main door opened and as soon as it did, my breath hitched when my eyes met with Talas. Pulling back her hood she then flung herself into my waiting arms and I breathed her in. Instantly feeling a calming warmth wash over me and settle my wolf. Goddess I had missed her presence already. Her little arms wrapped around my waist, holding on like I was her lifeline. I pu

Chapter 27 – A Vile Wolf & A Red Wolf
TALA I couldn’t believe I marked him, I didn’t regret it, but I was definitely mad at my wolf. Mora had seen her opportunity to push through and take over and she took it. Lost in bliss when my orgasm started to rip through me, she took advantage of my vulnerable state, coming to the forefront and marking her mate. I didn’t even know my mate, Kellen, only what Oliver had told me. Yet I had all these feelings for him, feelings that I didn’t understand, or at least understand where they were coming from. ‘The mate bond’ Mora’s voice filled my head for the first time in a long time. After marking Kellen I was feeling her presence more than ever. ‘How can I feel so strongly about someone I don’t know? I don’t even know his age, or if he has siblings, What his favorite food is, or color,” I began ranting to her. ‘All in due time, we can get to know these things. Our mate was made for us. We will love everything about him’ My wolf spoke, her words having a calming effect on me. Telling

Chapter 28 – The First Gift
Day 13 of The Games KELLEN Today was my day to fight. I had woken just before sunrise, watching the peak of the sun come up over the horizon. Its orange glow of the breaking dawn reminded me of the hot flames of a fire, distorting the air around it as the heat rose with a golden orb, creating a mirage. I walked out into the open common area where it was still deadly silent. I had noticed in my first few days the lack of vegetation and animals. Not a single bird called out in the morning and not a single cricket chirped when night fell. I walked the common area for a couple of hours, not really thinking of anything in particular except for my upcoming Gladiator match today. My thoughts drifted to home, they were mostly of Mike and Lamia. I also couldn’t help but wonder if Uncle Michael and Uncle Marcus were still running the Kingdom or if Mike had had to take over. I wondered if they were still searching for me or if they had given up. I had been here for how long? Two months? I c

Chapter 29 – The Roar of a King
KELLEN The opposing contenders began yelling something in a foreign language at each other. However, I didn’t need to understand their words. Their dark and malevolent eyes said it all, and the vicious and barbarous smirks they each wore told me they were going to go for the kill. “This is it,” I heard Ajani say and I turned my head to look at him. Without the need for words, we turned our backs on each other taking a fighting stance, weapons in hand at the ready. Standing back to back we had a better chance of fending off the opponents, they would not be able to come at us all at once otherwise they would end up striking each other. I watched them as they circled us, waiting for them to make their move, the two on horses cantering in a wider circle. We didn’t have to wait long as the other four advanced, twirling or swinging their weapons. The first clank of metal on metal came from behind me when Ajani blocked an attack. I had no time to look as two of the barbarians leaped towa

Chapter 30 – Closer
Day 14 of The Gladiator Games KELLEN The atmosphere amongst the Gladiators in the barracks was somber, to say the least. Not that any of us were ever really charismatic being enslaved. Ajani’s death had hit our hearts and the reality of our situation was once again shoved in our faces. We had lost Gladiators previously and we all acknowledged each of their deaths. No death was good and each man we lost to the games sat heavy in our hearts and minds. We had become an unaffiliated pack of sorts. However, Ajani had been a strong fighter the Gladiators looked up to him and they all knew he was not in top shape when he went out to fight, that was one reason why I was taking his death harder more than the others. The other reason kept playing in my head over and over like a film being rewound. He had saved my life in the arena. We both could have been dead if it wasn’t for him. Rogue sat by me, he had been by my side since I walked off the arena floor, patting my shoulder as I passed thr
