Lahat ng Kabanata ng Love in Thorns, Guns and Shackles: Kabanata 41 - Kabanata 50

Marco paced around in his office with a look of disappointment on his face, it was dark already but he wasn’t ready to go home. Today didn’t go as planned, he had hoped to take the bull by its horn by arresting Leonardo as a suspect on the charges of theft, illegal drug deals and homicide.Well, he had just little evidence thanks to Elena’s confession, but he hoped to make more out of it. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to prosecute the heir of such a business empire with a street girl’s mere confession, but if he had brought him in for questioning, he might have given them something that could be used against them. But now, instead of getting those results, he had pissed a lot of people off tonight by attacking the son of the famous Salvatore family, it was never his plan and the first gunshot fired was neither by his permission. The guns were only held up to try and intimidate Leonardo into following them peacefully, but one of his men had lost grip and fired in the air by accident

Marco grabbed his jacket really quick and put it on, he was late for work already; that is if he still had one after the little stunt he had attempted to pull yesterday. Well, not like he regretted any of it.The police captain turned his bedroom upside down in search of his gun. He had been so tired when he returned last night that he could not remember where he had dropped his gun in a haste. It had to be somewhere here in his bedroom. He was a bachelor and so he lived alone, his two room apartment was quite the mess, but he wouldn’t be blamed now, would he? You can’t be fighting crime and dirt at the same time; he would probably need a maid or better still, a wife.He had committed the most of his life to service to his country that he had no time for himself. He wasn’t married and he didn’t have any siblings, his parents were not in the city, so it was just him, all alone, serving the nation.Captain Marco finally foun

“Arhhh!!!” The slim criminal’s piercing voice filled the dark room as Captain Marco pulled on his short nipples with the tips of a Plier. Good thing it wasn’t a cutter or that nipple would have fallen off by now.“Stop it you deadbeat, let him go!!” the tough one yelled.Marco smiled and let go. “You two are really starting to get on my nerves, we have been at this for a few minutes now and you are all forming tough to break, don’t force me to go too far or you would be leaving here as a corpse.” He spat. The men didn’t reply, they were just fighting to regain their breath for the next session of torture. Marco was quite amazed by their resilience, he didn’t expect them to hold on this far, but he was certain that he was close to breaking them, maybe not the first guy but the slim one looked like he would open up anytime soon, he would be able to endure for much longer.“You don’t get it, we won’t tell you anything, no one

“Oh, we got an extra two hundred, a new bidder, should we sell it off? Does someone think he deserves it more? Who else is willing to bid higher for this doomsday weapon, anyone?”He turned to Mateo and smiled at him. Mateo stood again, “We will make that Four thousand and five hundred,” he announced and the crowd clapped. This was of course the most exciting part of the show, watching brothers fight to get the best weapon.“Five thousand,” the new self-proclaimed leader of the Lupi family gang announced and the crowd cheered.“Wow, five thousand!! That is huge but we believe someone who knows the worth can offer more, who is going to be? Five thousand going?” the announcer asked.Mateo looked at Scarface and he smiled, and then asked him to come closer. The capo sat down and brought his ears closer to hear what the Don had to say.“It is obvious that my uncle’s partially standing family is here

Anna paced around in her bedroom, thinking of what she had to do next. Even with all the facts and evidence collected, Baron White had still refused to publish her story on the Mafias of Italy and Sicily to be precise. She needed to get that information out there by all means, people needed to know the truth. All she needed was a platform to reach out to them and that is why she had been desperately pleading for her chief Editor to approve the story. She didn’t want to wait on him anymore, it was clear to her now that he would never change his mind. That was when a thought crossed her mind; she could start her own personal blog and get the story out there.Yes, that would be risky but she didn’t care, at least people would know the truth. She would expose all the secrets of the Mafia to the light, she will open the eyes of the world as a whole and let everyone know the people behind these dirty acts, the people who would go about murder
