Five Years Prior Valerian: Valerian sat in his private chambers, finishing up paperwork for pay increase for his men throughout the ranks of the military. He would never forget how the whole of his men had rioted when he had been taken away to the healers. His lieutenant explained to Valerian that none of the men cared whatever lover he chose as he was the best commanding officer they had had for three millennia.
