Rena sighed as she leaned against the ballroom wall; gazing out at all of the dancers on the floor. She watched as her eldest sister danced with every eligible suitor she could charm. Rena froze as her deep violet eyes roved over the crowd to find the person she thought she had seen. As Rena caught the eye of the human with the emerald eyes, her whole world tipped. There was only one man she had met in her long lifetime that had such stark green emerald eyes as Blaine had. Five Years Prior Valerian: Valerian sat in his private chambers, finishing up paperwork for pay increase for his men throughout the ranks of the military. He would never forget how the whole of his men had rioted when he had been taken away to the healers. His lieutenant explained to Valerian that none of the men cared whatever lover he chose as he was the best commanding officer they had had for three millennia. Better wages for his men, better living quarters and better weapons were the only things a commanding officer could give his men; and Val hoped that they would be happy with these things.
