Old Feelings and New Ones

Valerian felt the vice on his chest grow tighter as he stormed through the palace, down toward the gardens. Throwing his mask down into the dirt, Val huffed out a breath as he fought to control his emotions.

Sitting down onto a nearby bench, Valerian sighed; silently damning Dorian and whatever plot he was currently conspiring.

It was true that Valerian hadn't seen Vincent in the more recent years. There had been rumor of Vincent leaving the human kingdom forever; forsaking all of his birthright. Rather than the peace travels that Valerian knew Vincent had been on for years.

The nasty, twisted rumors had to be of Dorian's doing. But why? Valerian couldn't understand what had caused Dorian to start all of his nefarious plotting. Especially the vile treatment of Dorian's own kin. Valerian wondered if the human was ruthless enough to actually cause his own father's failing health.
