Chapter 10: Carrying The Crown
Amber’s pov:I feel a strong pair of arms picking me up, bridal style. My eyelids are too heavy to lift, so I just stay still in his warmth. As my body touches the soft mattress, it is hesitant to let go of the warm embrace. I grip his bare arms strongly and request, “Don’t let go.” His warmth lingers around me until I fall asleep.“Good morning, Tesoro,” he gently kisses my forehead. I caress his cheek with my hand and speak through my yawn, “Good morning.” I open my eyes and realize that I was daydreaming. I can’t wrap anything around my head ever since he kissed me. I felt the need to rip his shirt off him that very minute, but I controlled myself. I shake those thoughts off me as I dress up in a short wrap skirt and a lace top, both black. “Lilly,” I greet her with fake cheerful energy, “Let’s go, shall we?” I ask her. She drags her feet across the room, and out the door, her eyes stuck on my man. I mean, Alessandro. “Lilly, are the invitations set to go out?” I ask her. “Yeah,”

Chapter 11: Un-Armed
Alessandro’s pov: Amber is unlike any woman that I’ve met before. All the women that I’ve brought here so far had been engrossed with swiping my card for drinks, dresses, jewelry, and whatnot, but here she is working on her hobby, literally standing out of the crowd. Her lips are pressed together, nervously as my hand is set on her waist. “We should call it a night,” she says, standing up and adjusting her skirt. “As you wish,” I say as we climb down the flight of stairs hand in hand. We head back home after a short drive. As usual, she goes to bed while I use the bathtub. I want to ask her why she drew Bianca’s portrait, but maybe she doesn't want anyone to know right now, so I’ll keep it that way. I slip into bed, and we share the same quilt. My hand grabs her fleshy thigh under the sheets. “Alessandro, keep your hands to yourself,” she says trying to escape my grip. “I don’t feel like it,” I tell her, squeezing it harder. Slowly, I move my hand up, tracing every inch of her uppe

Chapter 12: Hands On
Alessandro’s pov:“Got it!” She says holding onto my concealed gun nervously. She places the gun on the stand behind her and walks away with her rosy cheeks and watery eyes. I chuckle to myself and put the gun right back in its place. Damn, this woman is something else. I regain my composure quickly.Ken messages the details of the location. We landed two hours later. “Mr. Bianchi, here’s the bulletproof vest, and the shotguns as you asked,” Garret gears me up after Amber and I exit the jet. “I need a few men as well,” I tell him as I tighten the vest, “But keep them out of the gang’s sight until and unless they make a wrong move.” “Mrs. Bianchi, meet Garret, my inventory man in Romano,” I say as Garret hands over a case to hold the shotgun. “Pleasure to meet you,” he bows down. She smiles at him, and says, “Likewise.” A chauffeur pulls up at the station, and I say, “Amber, Garret will be around you for protection at the hotel, I will be back in a few hours.” She whispers in my ear

Chapter 13: Lose Canon
Amber's pov: I kiss him, hard. The sounds that leave my lips in ecstasy merge with that of the waves brushing ashore. My hands wrap around his neck and grip his hair tight. “Don’t stop, Alessandro..” I request him. The moonlight shines bright as we get lost in our world of desires. He pulls away from me, and says, “A good shot for the paparazzi.” I turn around to see a group clicking pictures and our bodyguards tackling them to the ground. That was for the cameras? My legs wiggle as I swim back to the shore. I quickly put on my clothes, grab the keys from his trousers, and race to the bike. I hop right on, put on the helmet, and drive myself back to the hotel. He can crawl back for all I care. I take a cold shower and clear my mind. The bed calls me and I don’t resist. After an hour or so, I hear the door unlock, “Amber?” He asks. I keep my eyes shut, and breathe steadily. He showers and then slides under my sheets and turns my body to face his. “What the hell was that?” He asks ho

Chapter 14: Unpleasant Surprises
Amber’s pov:“Father-in-law! What a pleasant surprise,” Alessandro says shooting one of the men’s hearts. My heart rate spikes up. The other man starts to run away. He walks up to me like he’s my savior, but deep down, we all know that he’s the devil himself.“Bianchi,” Pietro was shaking, “You know that Amber is not going to receive a cent from my multi-million dollar empire, right?” Alessandro nods, and asks, “And you know that you’re not going to receive a cent of my sympathy, right?” No, he can’t have Pietro’s blood on his hands. I walk up to Alessandro, still shaking, and panting. My vision is blurry. Words don’t leave my mouth, but I grip his arm. “Pietro, please leave before you make me do something I’ll probably not regret, but take note of what I say next,” Alessandro says placing his revolvers back in the socket, “If you ever dare to raise an eyebrow at Amber, know that it’ll be your last time seeing the daylight.” Then, he says, “Oh, and try to hire better bodyguards.” An

Chapter 15: Play Fight
Alessandro’s pov:Amber flashes a weak smile at Julia. “You’ve got a great one, Alessandro, she plays it cool for the cameras,” Julia chuckles as she stares at me. My hands are ready to knock her out, but her family’s alliance with mine forces me to keep my cool. “Julia, I will not repeat myself, leave,” I say. She winks at me and says, “You know where to find me.” I take Amber’s hand in mine and walk her out of the hall. “Amber, are you okay?” I ask her when I notice that the smile which was there on her face an hour ago is missing. “Yes, I am, because it is normal to have your husband sleeping around with women,” she says avoiding eye contact. “Did I ever pledge you my loyalty?” I ask her as I turn on the engine. “No, you did not, but what if someone saw you with them?” She asks looking straight ahead. “Them?” I question in confusion. “Lilly and Julia,” she says buckling up. “I’ve only slept with Lilly once, and it was a month ago,” I scoff, “We weren’t even together back then.” S

Chapter 16: Miles To Go
Amber’s voice is shaky as she says, “What do you mean?” She knew exactly what he meant, but she wanted to hear him say it. Alessandro smirks, and he moves away from her, although it took every fiber in his body to walk away, he did. Right before setting foot out of the room, he says, “Get ready, I’ll be waiting outside.”Amber gets her breathing steady and takes her sweet time to suppress her wicked thoughts. She dresses herself up in the gear that he had left on the bed. She rings Lilly. “Today is your day off,” she says. “Oh, but I’m already waiting outside,” Lilly says in a rather unsettling tone. “Well, you’ve got to leave,” Amber says before ending the call.Alessandro and Amber eat breakfast together in a nearby cafe. They order pancakes and Amber makes sure to tease him by asking the waiter for honey. Then, she traces the honey all over her lips and licks it slowly. Alessandro gapes for a split second as she recalls their first kiss. Amber’s pov:Two can play the game, Mr. Bia

Chapter 17: It's Simple
Amber's pov: “Amber, is this not a good time?” Bianca asks from the other side of the door. I use her as my route to escape from my world of desires. “I’ll be there in a few minutes, Bee,” I tell her looking right at his perfectly sculpted face. “Later, Mr. Bianchi,” I whisper into his ear before taking off. As I freshen up, I think about how Alessandro always gets me worked up, but this time, I turned the arrow towards him despite his try at shooting it towards me. I step out of the room and see Bianca seated at the table. For the first time, there is no sign of pain on her face. I feel glad that she has made it this far. “Bianca, what did you have to talk about?” I ask as I sit down right next to her. “Be honest with me when I ask you this,” she asks with a shimmer of hope in her eyes, “Is my face asymmetric?” I take her hands in mine, and say, “Your face might be symmetric, or asymmetric, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that you accept yourself for who you are.

Chapter 18: Lunch Break
Alessandro’s pov: The Next Day: Last night, we didn’t go any further than kissing, and yet she’s all I want. I’ve never felt that kind of magnetism with anyone else. She stopped me right before I unbuckled my belt, and although every inch of my body wanted to feel her body against mine, I stopped and let her go. Ever since I’ve gone to bed, the scene repeats in my head constantly, and I haven't slept a wink. She’s off to work already, but I am hesitant to get out of bed, which is very unlike me. I take a warm shower and get ready. I am slacking on my schedule for the first time in years, and I don’t regret it. I reach the Pentanova’s house. We meet in the study. The room has an antique touch to it with gramophones, ancient bookshelves with cobwebs, and whatnot. “Javed,” I greeted him with a handshake, “Any leads?” He lets out a low sigh, and says, “No, not yet, but something interesting has been discovered.” He orders everyone to leave the room. “We both know that Amos had grea

Chapter 19: Here For You
Amber’s pov:I didn't want to start with topics involving his father, I’d rather stick to the relationships as of now. “At what age did you have your first girlfriend?” I asked placing my hands on my thighs. “I’ve never had a girlfriend,” he says with a sharp tone. “So you’re the one-night stand kind of guy?” I ask shaking my legs. “Not necessarily, let's just say I hadn't found the right woman,” he says with a smirk. “What about you?” He asks curiously. “I’ve had a few...My first one was when I was eighteen, he was an artist,” I say, taking a sip of the champagne. “How did you break up?” He asks. “He cheated on me,” I say as the waiter serves us. “His loss,” he says picking up the fork. Just to put him through a little test, I say, “I wouldn’t blame him, I wasn't ready to take things to the bedroom.” He is taken aback by my response, then he says, “That is not a reason to cheat on someone.” Yeah, he passed. I ask interrogatively, “Would you wait for me?” He smirks, “I would, but I
