Warrior of the Way のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 101 - チャプター 110

Rhychard glanced around the wooded area once more, noticing that the boulders he stepped over to gain access to his haven were not the only ones in the vicinity. Actually, they arched out in both directions, curving back to connect with his Thinking Rock. A giant circle. A faerie circle. The Warrior Master pointed at the boulders. "This is the boundary of the faerie circle. Step within it, and you are not only invisible to those who would glance this way, but you can also be transported to the Land Under—if you have the magic to see you there. We can use this space to train without being noticed.""Marachin told me he built a bridge to the Land Under. He just forgot to tell me how it works. What happens if an innocent person steps inside the circle?""Nothing. The magic only works if someone tries to access the bridge. Otherwise, it's merely a ring of rocks."Rhychard stared at the boulders, not sure he truly believed what Kendalais said. "I heard stories when I was a kid that said dif

He turned back to the scene in front of him, the townspeople screaming for Mephalus' death, the flaming arrows slicing through the night sky, landing on the ground, the dead bodies, even Mephalus. The flames rose, climbing higher and higher, as Mephalus screamed at Kendalais, calling the Warriors cowards for not facing him on their own, but rather allowing the townspeople to fight their battles. "Is this how your king passes judgment?" he bellowed into the night. "You allow these…humans…to kill one of your kind?"Rhychard watched as Kendalais slid his sword back in its scabbard, then crossed his arms over his chest. The expression he gave Mephalus was cold, deadly. "You know the Seelie do not interfere in the affairs of the humans. You crossed that line, Mephalus, and now the humans have decided to handle it themselves. They are the ones who have passed judgment, and we will not interfere.""Cowards!" Mephalus roared as more arrows struck him, knocking him to the ground, his body going

Buttercup just couldn't handle sitting through one more of the elf's magical stage shows. She had enough drama in her life without having someone else's displayed in front of her in 3D. She stepped out of Rhychard's condo and headed toward the bus stop. She needed to figure out what to do with her life and sitting in Rhychard's living room watching Faeries Gone Wild was not the way to accomplish it. As she took a seat on the bench, her cell phone rang. It was one of the things Rhychard helped her acquire after the implosion of Harvest Fellowship. "You can't really get a job unless they have a way of contacting you to tell you you're hired, right?" he said the day he handed it to her. "It's not that much more to add someone to my plan so don't worry about it. When you start working, I'll hand you the bill." It was just another way he always took care of her. Yet, she felt she hadn't done much to repay him."Hello," she said into her phone. Glancing at her watch, she figured she had abo

Rhychard woke Friday morning already dreading spending it with Kendalais. While he wanted the training, he wished it could be with someone else rather than the arrogant Warrior Master. It was not going to be a pleasant weekend. After a quick shower and half a pot of coffee, Rhychard thought he was caffeinated enough to face the elf who he knew already waited for him. On impulse, Rhychard grabbed the hooded cloak his father gave him and wrapped it around his shoulders. He slipped the hood over his head and glanced at himself in the mirror, comparing himself to the vision of Mephalus he witnessed yesterday."You look like something from a fantasy novel," Renny giggled as she materialized beside him.Rhychard glanced over at her, unable to keep the smile from his lips that appeared every time he saw her. Tryna wanted Renny to move on to her next journey, but Rhychard didn't want to see her leave. Not yet. He knew it was selfish, but after sacrificing so much, couldn't he afford to be just

The sword began to tingle in his grip as Rhychard blocked another swing. He could hear the words the other Warriors were chanting and soon the words began to make sense to him even though he couldn't make them out. He focused on Mephalus, but he repeated the same chant as the others, reaching with everything Kree taught him into the sword. He felt the other Warriors, felt their lifelines. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a tall, thin elf with long blond hair look at him, a smile on his face. Then he nodded at Rhychard and melted into the air, his life force flowing toward Rhychard and entering the sword once again. The blade pulsed with the added energy and Rhychard felt it grow more solid in his grip. One by one the other elves did the same, each one with a triumphant grin on his or her face, until Jamairlo was the last one standing. Each time one of the Warriors entered the sword, Rhychard felt his strength increase and the tingling from the blade grew, sparking like electrical cu
