Chapter 11*Writer's pov*"Howdy, mate," Aaron's unpolished British accent jolted Jaden back to the present, and he turned to face him fully. The cup of coffee in his hand was steaming hot and still looked untouched. "What's bothering you, Jaden?""This is the most complicated case I've ever handled in a long time." "Why is everything taking so long?"Aaron kept staring at him, you know, with that "are you sure about that?" look."You know...." Aaron started and slowly sat at the edge of the desk. "You can lie to any other person in this entire world, including your uncle, but you can't lie to me." C'mon, man, tell me what's eating you up. I know it's something more than this case."Jaden stopped what he was fake-typing and relaxed in his chair, stroking his chin. He struggled with different thoughts about whether or not to tell Aaron about all his encounters, about Elle or the sons of Zed or the twin witches that attacked him, about his realistic dreams that had just been reoccurring

Chapter 13Jeremy's pov"Did you get my coffee?"I raised my head from my computer after a few seconds of not getting an answer from Aaron. I looked at him, and he had that annoying smirk on his face."Can you not joke around?" "I really need the coffee."He dropped the coffee on my desk and shrugged. Then he turned and left. Heaven knows what his problem is, but I'll take care of whatever it is later. I have work to do.Speaking of work, I've been staring at all the files in front of me for the past few minutes. These were evidence against Carrie's boyfriend. Everything was as clear as day, but something was still off."Hey Jeremy, you might want to see this."I got up lazily and walked up to where Xavier, someone I work with, sat in front of his laptop. There were photos from the crime scene that I hadn't actually taken time to study."Look, Jeremy, there's a wine glass at the table, and there's an empty bottle of Rittenhouse Rye." According to all her medical records, she's not an a

Jaden's povI got to the office early the next day feeling so elated. It must be because of the time I spent with Giselle yesterday, even though I still don't understand why she suddenly wanted me to leave in the middle of the conversation.By the way, I had a good time, no matter how short it was."Young man, where have you been since yesterday?" I showed up at your place, but you were not there. "You went out without me, man, and I'm so emotional right now." We both laughed at his early morning foolishness, and I tried as much as possible not to continue the discussion so I wouldn't have to explain where I went and who I was with."That reminds me, how's your little miss coffee maker?""You haven't actually told me what I need to know about both of you because the other day, she ran all the way from her coffee shop just to ask me about you.""She was a little disappointed when I told her you didn't come out because you were avoiding some things."The file in my hand fell, and beads

Writer's povWizard world.....Rafar sat in the mini-throne room he created for himself inside his chambers, caressing his pocket dagger as always and thinking of different ways of cutting the prince's body into several bits.A knock on his door jolted him back to reality, and he hesitated a bit before letting whoever it was in."The queen demands your presence in the throne room, Lord Rafar," the servant reported, with his head facing the ground."I'll be with her shortly," he quickly dismissed.Rafar rearranged his hair and dusted his clothes, then proceeded to the mighty throne room. There, the queen was pacing from one end of the room to the other with both her hands resting on her waist."What could be troubling her majesty on a day like this?" He asked as he approached where she was."Rafar I'm becoming impatient! I need to see the body of that prince lying in state.I want to laugh over his corpse. I want to spit on his grave!""I want to..." she fumed."And you will, your ma

Writer's pov"The queen orders that you let the twins go," a guard announced, interrupting his torture plan."What, why all of a sudden?" He fumed as he took loud breaths. The guard only shrugged, bowed, and excused himself; Rafar fumed and headed straight for the human world, where he'll commence his prince hunting.Rafael hovered around Jaden's empty house for a while before settling on the gigantic sofa in the living room."Already living the life of a prince even before being crowned as one...""Well, it's best not to lose on both ends of the two worlds anyway."He caressed the large framed portrait of Jaden that hung on the wall a few meters away from where he sat before.Several thoughts of possible ways to capture and kill him kept crossing his mind, and suddenly he stopped moving and a menacing smile crept onto the corner of his lips."What if I don't really have to attack him all of a sudden?" He asked no one in particular as he continued caressing the picture."Such a lonely
