Chapter 16

Rowena's pov

We were still watching the horror movie together when we heard a terrifying knock on the door.

At first, we thought it was just background noise from the movie, and we decided to ignore it. But the knock grew louder.

Giselle quickly paused it and quietly walked to the door. She peered through the hole while I watched keenly. She nodded and quickly opened the door, and immediately Jaden ran in.

"Shut it quick," he pointed, and Giselle obeyed. The puzzled looks on both of our faces made him realize he had to start talking.

"A glass of water, please," he said, staring at Giselle. He must be dreaming to think she would get it for him, so I walked to the kitchen and grabbed him a cold bottle of water.

Giselle and I watched him while he emptied the contents of the bottle into his mouth and wiped his sweaty forehead with his thumb. Giselle was slowly losing her patience, and I had to help him by throwing sorry eyes at her.
