CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO.Adele went straight to the doctor's office for a check up when she noticed she was bleeding. At the hospital, tests were carried out on her and she was later told she had a difficult pregnancy and was the cause of her persistent vomiting and nausea that morning. Let me know what the doctor says.” Jamal’s words rang in Adele’s mind as she sat in the doctor’s office. The previous night, they had been cool. They took a warm bath together, ate dinner together and Jamal cuddled her in his arms all night. He seemed very happy about the fact that she was pregnant. She had thought that was the beginning of him fixing things like he had promised, but that didn’t seem to be the case.
