Alexander's POV.What? I blinked rapidly to register who was in front of me, we both stared at each other breathless, trying to understand what we should do next. It was an awkward situation, but it baffled me a lot as to how she always knew where to find me."Hey I'm here bec—" she started but I didn't want to hear her complete the half ass reason,"No, you're not supposed to be here. How did you even find my address?" I closed the distance between us and felt the mate bond tug at my very soul, as much as I didn't want to get attracted it was very hard to do so."That's what I'm trying to explain, I—" "You're stalking aren't you?" I jumped to conclusions and it was irritating her. "Or you came here to steal something? I'm calling the police." I whipped my phone from my pocket hastily."Would you just—""Sydney!!" I heard mother scream and rush into her arms, engulfing her in a tight hug. My will to call the police had vanished as I saw her hold my Goddess given mate like she was a ch

Sydney's POVHow could he think of me like that? It was so uncalled for. Truth be told, he barely knew me, but thinking I wanted to hurt his mother was just extreme.'He is an alpha. What do you expect?' Reika said.'Can you be on my side for once? Just because you want him so bad doesn't give you a right to be unreasonable.''I am on your side. That's why I'm telling you all this. An alpha has numerous enemies so it's normal for him not to trust anyone,' she explained."I don't care. I just want to get home to Nick and Asher. Keep your explanations to yourself.'I knew I was being petty. But Reika had always been fond of making me look like the paranoid one, and it didn't start when we met Alexander. It was darker than usual. I closed later than I would have at the hotel. As the breeze scattered my hair, a smile etched itself into my face. Today was a nice one. And Mrs. Grayson was just a lovely person overall. I was kind of happy that I got fired. Otherwise, she wouldn't have offere

Sydney's POVMy mouth quivered in need, expecting a deep kiss. But all I got was a soft peck on my lips. I didn't even her the chance to be disappointed as his hands worked magic, slipping under my shirt unnoticed. My skin tingled as Alexander cupped my breast and my nipples hardened. His other hand traced lines to my waist then threatened to slip further down. I wanted it. But his palm never got there. He placed it behind my head and shoved me closer to him, attacking my lips with such ferocity, I almost collapsed. With every bite, suck and a battle of dominance between our tongues, I became more of a hot mess. My breaths quickened but I held onto him, not wanting the kiss to end. I gripped his loosely curled hair, almost fainting in the kiss.He tried to pull back but I kept him in place. Smirking against my lips, Alexander placed his hands on my hips and when I least expected it, he heaved me up, pressing his body closer to mine. I felt a few beads of sweat on his abs. So I wasn't

Sydney's POVThe heavily tiled wall of the kitchen stared back at me as I tried to control my anger. Sitting on a chair Mrs. Grayson got me with my head resting on the cold tiled wall, my temperature only went up. I felt like I was in a furnace.I closed my eyes forcefully in an attempt to push the tears back. They escape though narrowly. The tears that flowed through my closed lids made things feel better so I just stayed that way.Images of my sons appeared in my mind. Not surprising. Both of them with their loosely curled black hair — such handsome children. Nick was the noisy one, just any child would be. Always playing and seeking attention, my hazel-eyed son was the very helpful of the two, constantly asking if he could help me with things. His sharp jaw showed the promises of a gorgeous man in the future. He was also a little tall for his age.Asher, the younger twin, always seemed to follow his brother's lead when it came to mischief. Asher was the quiet one who only pointed t

Alexander's POVMy hands quivered. I didn't want to resort to this but after everything that happened this afternoon, my throat and everything else in me was sore."Let me go," she begged. The expression on her face wasn't that of someone who was begging though.Reluctantly, I released her even though I was still burning with anger.'You really need to give this woman a break. What is wrong with you?' came Lyall again with his unwarranted talk. It wasn't my fault that she was careless enough to get pregnant. Both of us stared at each other. I watched the rise and fall of her heaving chest. I felt a little bad that I had to do that but the last person I wanted to see now was Sydney. I could see the hatred in her eyes and surprisingly, it pricked my heart.Frowning, I went, "Where's my mother?"Her mouth opened and closed without utterances. "Where is she?" I barked.Sounds flew from her mouth but still nothing, until she pointed upstairs. What was wrong with her?I looked at her closely

Sydney's POVI smiled as I watched my sons hug her closely. As I was leaving for work today, I thought of Nick and Asher constantly being pent up in that apartment with Lucas. In fairness to him, Lucas was very nice to them but I still distrusted him. Then I remembered that Mrs. Grayson had been wanting to see them for a while now. I was already halfway through my journey to work when I turned back and went home to get them.As I watched her hold them to herself on her bed, I knew it was the right choice. She kept screaming like a teenager with her boyfriend. It was cute, to be honest."Sydney! How? Why? How did you get them here? I thought it would be quite a distance for both of them," she asked. She didn't lie, it was quite a distance for them with their short legs, and I liked walking to save transportation fees."Well um, you know it's the holiday. And I thought of having them spend some time with you today. Plus, they're resuming in September," I said a little indecisively. I fel

Sydney's POVMrs. Grayson hugged me again, this time, refusing to let go. At this point, I wasn't sure if she was hugging me for everything I had been through or if she needed the hug herself and just couldn't ask for one. Either way, I enjoyed her embrace, feeling the warmth of a mother.Since my new life in the Moon Rise pack started, I did my best not to think of my mother. Deep in my heart, I knew that without her maybe I wouldn't be here today. But it didn't change what she did to me. Yes, she saved me from being homeless by sending me to a sister of hers who I never knew existed. But that wasn't the problem. Why didn't she show me at least a glimpse of this love earlier on? What was so special about this loving gesture that she had to wait until we were never going to see each other again to show it?Anytime I watched Alexander and his mother, my heart warmed. They argued a lot — two well-opinionated people — but those two never failed to show how much they cherished each other.

Alexander's POVWatching those kids leave wasn't the best time for me. They were actually fun and didn't give me issues.'That's funny. I thought you didn't like kids,' my wolf teased.I liked kids but the ones I've met were just too much for me to handle. How would something so small be so fast and destructive too?It was still early outside, a perfect time for me to go for a run. When last did I even run? Since we moved to this pack, I hadn't been as organized as I'd liked.Oh shit. I hadn't called Amarok in ages.I dialed his number immediately."Your Highness," came my beta's voice from the other end."Amarok, how's the pack doing?" I went straight to the point."Everything is going well, Your Highness. The renovations of the palace will soon be finished.""Good. What about the shelter house for the omegas? Is it ready?""Not yet, sir. But it'll be finished in about two days," he replied.Strange. They usually worked faster than this. A thought came to me to ask for pictures of wha

Alexander's POVHis mother's face appeared just as I ran to him."Oh my God! What happened to him?" she screamed as she scooped him up and made her way to the living room."I don't know" I muttered, following behind her.Just as his back touched the couch, Asher woke up. His eyes were reddish and he looked very sick. What could have gone wrong? He was fine throughout the time we spent together. Or was it just me who didn't notice anything? His skin was fiery hot when I touched it. "He's having an allergic reaction," his mother said rapidly. Please get me some water."I ran to get the glass of water as if my life depended on it. His temperature soon went down a bit and he closed his eyes, snoring peacefully. Looking up in relief, I wanted to ask her how she was able to identify the problem so fast when I saw the most horrendous expression on her face."What did you do to him?" she asked me from nowhere."What are you talking about? I found him just like you did," I explained.Hugging hi

Alexander's POVThe night was very quiet and it was comforting that mother was with me, although I didn't want to agree with her words. I was standing there trying to find the truth in it and I was finding truth. I had noticed that any little thing about Sydney concerned me whether it was her presence or her actions, it always bothered me.It was becoming more problematic because I was getting emotional with her boys. I loved Nick and Asher a lot and the thought of doing something to them was disgusting."Did you hear me you stubborn boy? It's very clear that you are in love with her." She rang again in my ears again, making sure to rub it in like salt in my wounds. "I don't know what it is you are doing and I don't understand why you are torturing yourself this way." Said the person who was so worried about me a few minutes ago. The way her moods switched was be oming concerning."Mom, I don't love Sydney…" I was barely sober enough to understand where I was but I understood the grav
