A Deranged Man

"Most of my classmates told me that there were tiny cockroaches and flies stuck up inside my huge brain. Is it true, mom?" I curiously utter to her with my mouth and fingers shivering while she gently swings the ropes of the swing I was on. Dad intentionally built me a wooden seat suspended by ropes under the huge oak tree in my favorite place on the island owned by my parents - in front of the wide blue ocean. He also put my best friends, mommy bear, daddy bear, and baby bear on the swing. The three of them were said to be teddy bears that can speak nothing but my name. Since then, I keep visiting the swing as it always helps me clear up my bothered mind. However, no matter how hard I try to remove the thought of having tiny insects in my brain, it only makes me feel more bothered. The swing and the bears no longer work for me. And it worries me to the point that I search the entire mansion to look for a hammer to crack my head and check myself if their claims are true. Unfo

A Nanny's Full Benefits

"This is your Captain speaking! Please be informed that our ship just started traveling to the breathtaking Las Islas de Bridgerton. The ship will be expected to arrive in forty minutes. So, sit back and enjoy." The only thing I did when I realize that is draw a few long curve lines on my forehead when it is now hard for me to get back to the port unless you are willing to swim in the freezing temp of the ocean. But I'm not gonna do that. It was purported that a few fishermen died while swimming in the ocean because they were eaten by those hungry and furious sharks. Leaving no choice, I wander around on the cruise ship to wait for another forty minutes to get back to the mainland. Good thing most of the stores give free food and drinks to all applicants for the nanny position. I don't have an appointment for the position but my resume proves it, so fooling the store owner was as easy as counting from one to three. "Give me back my toy, please!" exclaims the kid to a boy, my

Most Feared Predator

So, I point my gaze at the woman and wait for her to open her mouth. Before I could get committed to her son with autism, I have to understand the reason why of all applicants, it has to be me. They did not even ask for my resume and application form for their reference as far as I can remember after locking in a chamber on the cruise ship. "You'll know about us eventually, Ms. Clarkson. It's a private matter. Can we talk about it in our place?" she was hiding something, my instinct can tell. Then, she ordered everyone to hop back into the car and requested one of their bodyguards to send my parents back to our house. Because I already agreed to it, I left no choice but to hop into the car that Charles and his mom occupied. A bridge of utter silence then emerges between us in the car. Charles' mom is busy studying the screen of his phone while her son is also playing with the teddy bear he got from the kid on the cruise ship. Perhaps it was his indeed.

Deepest and Darkest Secret

Not that I don't believe Charles had his darkest secret since every one of us does have that. Even, I, myself also had my darkest secret that I don't want to open up to random people. However, Clark's statement about them being considered predators bothers me to the point that my brain could not think straight as it was the only word that stuck inside. Out of curiosity, I unhurriedly scanned everyone's faces, one by one, including our professor to check which part of them are considered predators. Sadly, after a thorough investigation, I couldn't see any suspicious about them. They talked. And they laugh as well. They were simply students like me. So, that makes me wonder about the school that was built on an island with only selected students who are allowed to enroll. If they're all coming from a wealthy family, why not go to some prestigious school on the mainland that has dominated the entire school system? Wait. Are they all indeed coming from wealthy fami

A Deranged Wolf

"M-o-n-s-t-er-" I muttered to myself while tears began falling down my cheeks. Part of me wanted to run when I could barely dare look at those drops of blood coming out of their bodies and staining the ground after getting punched and slashed by those sharp and elongated claws and fangs. However, this woman who keeps her grip on my shoulder seems to have no plan to let me go. She helps me and serves as my foundation to support my weakened knees. So, I close my eyes, thinking about everything that I see will simply disappear once I couldn't see. Yes, I manage to ease off a bit but every time I heard their soft moans and growls, my brain could imagine how the battle is going. And the thought of imagining things is worse than looking at them fighting because of me. An eighteen years old man with a serious brain issue is fighting against two because he hated the idea when someone wants to be her boyfriend. "We're werewolves, honey, not monsters. Half human and

The Syringe

So, I smiled at him as a sign of appreciation for being part of my life even for a short time before I could face my inevitable fate behind the depth of the cliff. However, someone's hands took hold of my arms and pulled me up by force. And I'm sure those hands were not from Charles. When I catch a glimpse of the naked man in front of me, it was no other than Randolph. "I'm so sorry, human. Our Young Master won't let you die for now," says Randolph in a lugubrious tone. He then holds my shoulder still to support my body from plummeting to the ground when I started to feel my head spinning. Charles crawled out of the ground and stood in front of me. However, he could not dare look me in the eye, especially when his cheeks were already covered in tears. "What should we do now, Charles?" Randolph asked him. This time, I could sense everyone's bothered minds while looking at the old man who shifted into a monster and got killed by someone with severe brain issues.

Waiting for Nothing

I don't know for how long I have been lying on the stretcher but my body seems to have recovered from the trauma earlier. My arms and legs are no longer shaking similar to what happened back nearby the cliff. No one is in the room as well. The last thing I remembered is that Charles punched Mr. Bridgerton in the face while debating about either killing me or not for knowing about the secrets on the island. My heart is beating gradually. I can hear them loud and clear. And I can feel the warm air that comes out of my mouth and nose. It simply means I am still alive. But, what changed their minds? "Was it because of Charles?" I uttered to myself while scanning the entire room. "Doesn't matter." says my conscience. "I have to get out of the island as soon as possible." So I hop out of the stretcher and sneak out of the room with profound caution until I reached the main exit of the mansion. The sun was about to go down. However, its brightness is enough fo

The Nanny's Threat

I do not want the terrible incident that happened to me earlier to happen again. One experience is already enough. Two might be a nightmare that will haunt me for the rest of my life. On the other hand, I do not want to get eaten by sharks if I chose to swim in the wide blue ocean in front of me. That is more unbearable I believe. Leaving no choice, I followed Randolph heading back to the mansion. It is the only place on the island, particularly in my humongous room, that is the safest for me at the moment. If I must lock myself up for a month or so while waiting for the cruise ship to get back, then so be it. My parents thought me how to be patient. So, there's no way I could not survive that long. As soon as we pass through the living area, Randolph and I are startled and taken aback by Charles' deafening screaming and crying out when he found me and Randolph walking together. Charles challenged Randolph earlier because he believe that they were hitting or making fun of me.

A Gift from Someone with Autism

"I hate to say this but it means that the entire clan of the Bridgertons is going to protect you by all means, Ms. Clarkson." he retorted. "and it might not end well for both of us. So, if you want us to protect you from getting killed by those wolves, cooperate with us before it's gonna be too late." Mr. Bridgerton's statement even worried me the most. I did not completely understand everything he said but I don't want to die either just because I discovered their secrets. He already sensed that I am not going to tell the world about it. No one would believe me either. "Anyway, it is not safe for you to stay outside. Please, get some rest. It's already late." he added before he clapped my shoulder and went back inside. Leaving no choice, I went back to my room with a bothered mind. I was supposed to get unwind on the terrace but it seems that these monsters around me won't let me rest. The next morning, I was taken aback upon seeing Charles in an expensive

Escape Plan

The driver suddenly stepped foot onto the brake which resulted in my face almost bumping onto the surface of the back face of the front seat. Good thing Charles managed to wrap his hand around my face before I could get thrown out. His eyes were focused on the driver but he saved my ass again. "Come on, Mr. Driver." Charles pouted. "You have to at least tell us if you will step onto the brake so Ms. Chloie could hold something. What if I wasn't here? You might kill her. And I don't want to have a nanny anymore." "I'm so sorry, Young Master..." "Enough of your apology," he said, this time, in a sharp tone. "I'm fine, Charles, really," I said. "you don't have to yell at him. Drivers are simply doing their job, including when to stop or not." As soon as Charles zipped his mouth and focused his attention on the teddy bear he is holding, I nodded to the driver to proceed. But if I have to take a side between the driver and Charles, I would prefer someone wi
