1 - Betrayal

Sarah slowly parked her Mercedes CLK next to the black Chevrolet Camaro in front of the house. She got down the car and smiled, noticing the lights glowing in one of the rooms upstairs; lights meant someone was home and that, also was her fiancé.The thought that she was really going to enjoy surprising him made her beam with joy. He still thought that she couldn't catch a flight back home from Chicago. 2 - Heartbroken

They turned their heads at the sound of her voice and Fred quickly jumped off her with a shocked expression mixed with guilt and fear. 3 - An impulsive decision

Sarah had been voted as Prom Queen, but she had never spited Helen in any way with her social status, even when Helen didn't want to attend the prom because she had no date, Sarah had fixed her a date with one of the popular guys in school.After high school, she had also insisted Helen go to the same college as her and since Helen could not by any way afford the tuition fees, Sarah had implored her father to foot every expense till they had both graduated.After college, Sarah had even used her influence in securing a good job for the bitch and all she got back from her was pain and betrayal. 4 - A father's despair

"I want to be a nun." Declared Sarah.Her father sauntered out of his wine bar, holding a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a burning cigar between the fingers of his other hand. 5 - A new life

“What do we do?” Fred asked as he paced the living room, one hand on his hip and the other on his head. 6 - Something amiss

There were just so many obvious reasons for her to turn back now while she still could but when she thought about Helen and Fred, she pursed her lips firmly, trying to do away with any discouraging thought that kept popping up in her mind.She just wasn’t sure if she could cope with this new lifestyle. What if she regretted it? What if she chickened out halfway and wanted to leave, would they let her? She pondered. Most of her life, she had mostly donned pants, shorts, short and snug gowns, cropped tops, high heels and other expensive accessories but it seemed she won’t be getting any of that luxury here for none of the nuns seem to have any jewelry on, not even wristwatches or earrings. She would have to look bland for the rest if her life. This wasn’t what she had really signed up for and she was very skeptical about giving it a try. Being a nun came with surrendering her life totally to God and giving up the pleasures of the world. S

7 - Four nuns

After the tiring tour, Sister Gladys led Sarah to one of the sleeping quarters where several of the nuns inhabited. After walking down the deserted hallway, they approached the door of a room. Sister Gladys knocked then entered the room without hesitating. Sarah followed, finding herself in a large room containing four bunk beds of which only three of the beds were obviously occupied by different women.The women who were quiet and immersed in reading, looked up from whatever catholic books they were reading to curiously stare at them. The women were clad in the same casual clothes, more like plain sleeping gowns they wore in their leisure time, but it was still uniformed. One of the women slipped off the top bunk and approached them with a smile."Sister Gladys?" 8 - Something odd

Sarah left the room with the other nuns. She was already dressed in her own uniform. Much to her relief, the strange trio had finally stayed off her when she had slept off and had only woken her up when it was time to go down for dinner. The dining hall was large but quaint and the ceilings were so high.It reminded her of the dining hall Harry Porter and his fellow students had their own meals. The three sisters quietly led her to a spot on one of the long benches after collecting their trays of food which they sat down close to the edge of the long table, with two each sitting on opposite benches across from each other. It was like living the life of a prisoner in a crowded room, but Sarah didn't mind much.She was however stuck with Yin sitting beside her while Anita sat across from her. The cheeky Asian offered her a smile before they all began to eat. While eating, Sarah scanned the room curiously. There were almost three hundred nuns in the large hall all dressed in black. She

9 - The warning

"Silence!" They were suddenly interrupted by the harsh voice of mother Felicia, the Abbess, from above. She was actually referring to all the nuns.Dead silence immediately engulfed the hall as Mother Felicia with Gladys standing right behind her, appeared on one of the small balconies above overlooking the dining room. She placed her chubby hands on the concrete banister and stared down at the women with solemn eyes. "I am sorry to announce that we have just lost four of our sisters! Sister Ann, Sister Megan, Sister Louis and Sister Pat." Two weeks later, Sarah restlessly paced the room, deep in thought. Yin watched her with interest but said nothing. Anita was about to say something when the door opened.
