Chapter 20
From Alessia's POVI had not slept the entire night. I didn't even lay down. I had stayed by the window staring at the moon. The last few nights, I felt it calling to me. If you asked me to explain it, I would have no words. It was like I was being beckoned by the moon as if I could climb out of the window and walk on its surface. I felt a strong connection, like the moon was telling me something important. As dawn approached, I grew weary of the pending conversation. After showering and getting dressed, I headed down to Daunte's office; after being introduced to Alpha Hector, Luna Maliyla, and their daughter, we headed to the kitchen.I could feel the tension between Daunte and me as we ate. I had a strong feeling he wanted to talk about what I had told Dr. Sara, and although I wasn't ready, I knew I could no longer prevent the inevitable. After taking my last bite, I finally asked the question that had been lingering over us. "What did you want to talk about?"Everyone froze. You co

Chapter 21
From Alessia's POV I stared at him as he lay on the floor, whimpering as if crying out to me. I slowly made my way toward him and lowered myself to the ground. I stared at him. He was beautiful. His black fur was marvelous, and his gold eyes held a familiarity. "I umm, I guess this is your room," I said, unsure of what to tell him. I had only ever talked to my wolf. I took a deep breath and extended my hand out to his head. The wolf stared at me, curious, as I reached between his ears and gently scratched his head. "Your fur is soft," I told him as I watched him close his eyes and tilt his head to the side. "You like this, don't you?" I giggled. The wolf began to purr as I continued petting him. After a few moments, I stopped. The wolf let out a small cry as he nuzzled my hand as if he were saying to keep scratching him. I giggled a little as I looked at him. "You're not so bad," I told him. Then I took a deep breath and stood up, making my way to sit on the couch in the room.

Chapter 22
From Alessia's POV I thought telling Sara about my past was the worst mistake, but I was wrong. My biggest mistake was telling Daunte. I should have kept the secret, but I was so overwhelmed by my feelings that I spilled the beans. Now, Daunte knew everything about my past, and I was scared of what would happen next. It was as if a light switch had been flicked on. In a matter of seconds, Daunte was out the door. I had never seen anyone move so fast. It took me a couple of moments to realize what had happened. When I finally came to my senses, I realized I was too late to stop him. (FlashBack) "DAUNTE!" I yelled after him as I ran out of the room. I heard a commotion outside the front door as I descended the stairs. Just as I was opening the door, I heard Hector's voice. "Daunte, this is not the way; it could backfire," Hector said. "Fuck you! Either you are with me, or you are against me. Decide," Daunte yelled. "I'm always with you, but this is not the way to handle this," He

Chapter 23
From Alessia's POVA week had gone by since I found Daunte out in that field. After seeing him like that, something inside me awakened. I started to have more visions, only they were of my parents. For some reason, I kept seeing what they saw in the last few weeks before the accident. The bits and pieces shown to me were as if I were them for that brief moment.I was so confused and scared I had no idea what this meant. As if things couldn't get worse, Briseis was gone. I hadn't spoken to or felt her for a week. I was so lost and alone that I felt like I was drifting further and further away from the world. I had no clue what was going on. I felt like I was going crazy. I knew I had to talk to someone, but who could I trust? As dawn approached, I made my way to the kitchen. Margaret was already in there making breakfast. After Daunte was brought back, Margaret apologized for not believing me. Since then, she and I have spoken daily and started building a relationship to the point that

Chapter 24
From Alessia's POV"What"? I exclaimed.I couldn't believe it! I had a brother? I didn't remember having a brother. How could that be? In truth, I did not remember anything about my childhood. All I remembered was the day of the accident, which was a complete blur. I was so confused. Why had I forgotten all about this? And why had I forgotten I had a brother?"Mon amour, are you alright?" Daunte asked with concern written on his face."I-I don't remember him. I don't remember anything," I replied, my voice just above a whisper.Daunte stared at me momentarily before turning his gaze to Logan and Dr. Nahiem."Will you both give us a moment?" he said.Logan and Dr. Nahiem nodded in agreement before stepping out of the room, leaving Daunte and me alone.I was nervous. I knew Daunte was about to ask me questions about my past, questions I had no answers to. What was I going to tell him? How could I get him to understand that I had no memory of anything prior to the accident or even after,

Chapter 25
From Alessia's POVA silence fell over us after Daunte said he had killed Alpha Markus. I couldn't believe it. I knew I had heard his voice in my vision, which I was certain of.I had so many questions. Some I thought I already had the answers to, others had risen in light of the events that had started to unfold. After Daunte was given the OK to leave the hospital, Logan drove us back to the packhouse. We exited the car as soon as he parked, and I made a beeline for my bedroom. I needed time to think and process everything that Daunte had told us. But mainly, I needed time to get in contact with Briseis. I wanted to ask her about my vision. Maybe she could help clarify some things.Upon entering the bedroom, I noticed the window was open, which was odd because I had never opened the window before. I cautiously approached the window and looked out. I saw a small note taped to the window. I opened the note, and a chill ran down my spine when I read the contents."You can't hide forever

Chapter 26
From Daunte's POVI had no idea what she had seen, but I knew she wasn't lying. Her look and how she held onto me tightly told me she was telling the truth. She had a look of fear in her eyes, and I could feel her trembling. I knew that whatever she had seen was frightening, and I knew I had to protect her by any means necessary.Walking back to my office, I knew I had to finish telling her the truth about her parents. My one fear was that this would push her away even more. I knew that I had to take the risk and tell her in spite of the fact that this might mean losing both her and Romo. As we entered my office, I led her to the chair across from my desk and gestured for her to sit. I took a deep breath and started to explain the situation."I wanted to tell you earlier, but I wasn't sure it was the right time with everything that happened at the hospital. Alessia, your mother had the ability to see the past, present, and future. I think perhaps this is why you are having these visio

Chapter 27
From Jared's POVLife has a funny way of making you pay for things. I always knew Alessia was my mate from the day she arrived at Crestview Pack. The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew. I also knew there was something special about her, as did everyone else. The day Alpha Markus found out we were mated, he had pulled me into his office. I remembered it as if it was yesterday. Little did I know that my life would have changed then and there.(Flashback)"Jared, my boy, come in, come in," Alpha Markus said."You want to see me?" I asked as I walked in and took a seat in the chair across from him." Since gossip can contain plenty of lies, I wanted to ask you personally. You see, I heard you were mated to Alessia. Is there truth to this?" Alpha Markus asked.I gulped and remained silent for a moment. I felt my heart sink as Alpha Markus stared at me, clearly expecting an answer. I took a deep breath before speaking. "Yes, it's true. I'm mated to Alessia.""Well, I need you to do something

Chapter 28
From Alessia's POVI had to hand it to Daunte for not wanting to give up on me. But as much as he wanted me, I knew I was not ready and wasn't sure if and when I would be. As we drove, I stared out the window at the trees passing by, and my mind wandered. I was stuck in limbo between everything I knew and everything I thought I knew. I was so lost in thought that I did not notice the car stop until I felt tingles run up my arm from Daunte placing his hand on top of mine."Forgive me," he said, removing his hand from mine. He gestured to a diner, saying, "We're here." I followed his gaze and saw that the small cafe was brightly lit and inviting. I took a deep breath and stepped out of the car, feeling a sense of anticipation. There was nothing special about the diner; you could call it a hole in the wall, but it was warm and inviting all the same. The ambiance was that of a 1950's era. The diner was decorated with vintage furniture and old-fashioned signs. The tables were covered in re

Chapter 29
From Daunte's POVLeaving the hospital was probably the worst idea I ever had. I felt like shit, but what would have happened to Alessia if I hadn't? It was risky for her to be alone every day, so I decided to leave, but I also knew that I couldn't protect her adequately at the moment. All I knew was that I needed to protect her the best way I knew how, and that was to be by her side. I had to ensure Alessia was safe, even if that meant risking my own life. Beyond that, nothing else mattered to me.Following my conversation with Hector, I decided to give her some space. My greatest fear was losing her, but if Maliyla and Hector could survive everything they went through, then so could Alessia and I. I only needed to be her friend before anything else, and everything would work out fine.Taking the time to talk to her was vital, which was my main reason for bringing her to eat. It gave us the time we needed to be alone. The conversation was a bit awkward, but in the end, I saw a small
