From Alessia's POVIf there was ever a time in my life when I craved clarity and understanding, it was now. It seemed that the more people became involved, the more chaotic things became, and the more unanswered questions arose. What had initially appeared to be a simple story of an orphaned girl had transformed into a complex mystery. The reason behind my parents' murder was nothing more than a desire to possess the power bestowed upon me by the moon goddess herself. My brother, whom I have no recollection of, despised me simply because he believed he deserved a title that he felt was rightfully his as a man. It was quite sexist, in my opinion, considering the changing times and the progress made by Maliyla's successful petitions. Then, there was my uncle, a former councilman, who craved power and was willing to go to any lengths to obtain it. The question that lingered was why? And what did he plan to do with this power once he had it? Although he sought the power of Maliyla and Kat

From Alessia's POVListening to their conversation, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the realization that every person in this room was willing to put their lives on the line for me. The only other individual who had ever shown me such unwavering compassion was Jackie. And Goddess, how I missed her. It suddenly dawned on me that I hadn't seen her since the night I ran away from the Crestview Pack. Questions arose in my mind: was she OK? Did she get out of that ratchet place? I needed to make sure she was OK. I made a mental note to talk to Daunte about it; I was sure he could help me.As I sat there quietly, lost in my thoughts, I suddenly felt like I had been pulled out of my body and placed in someone else's. The moment I opened my eyes and looked around, I didn't recognize anything. I sat up and realized I wasn't in Hector's office. Instead, I was in my childhood home. My last time there was when my father announced that we were going on our annual family trip. As I rose to

From Daunte's POV I sat quietly and listened intently to her every word. I felt my heart sink as she spoke. "I thought you had never met him?" Evangeline's voice pulled me from my thoughts. My gaze shifted to Alessia as she replied, "I have met him once before," she said, her voice low and timid. "When?" Evangeline asked. "The night before the accident, I saw him at the house. I remember telling my mom that someone was next to the car, but she laughed and said it was probably a cat or something." Alessia replied. "You're sure it was him?" I asked with confusion in my voice. Alessia had no memory of them brother, so hearing that she knew he had been there the night before her parents died was shocking. She nodded as she stood. "My uncle didn't realize his power, but he possessed telekinesis and telepathic abilities. He could make objects float, move things with his mind, and even influence people's thoughts. Moreover, he could manipulate time, energy, and even the weather. Despi

From Alessia's POVDaunte's request for me to be Alpha took me by surprise. Who was I to take over and make decisions about a pack I had just arrived at and knew nothing about? I hesitated, not knowing what to say, but Evangeline assured me that everything would work out.Briseis had not spoken to me since Daunte ended up in the hospital. I could feel her stirring inside me, but she was silent. It was bittersweet that she wasn't talking to me, but I knew one of the reasons was due to Daunte being in the hospital. I wanted to ask her if she was okay, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I was scared to break the silence; after all, I had told her to do something. I pushed her to shift and jump into a fight that we clearly were not ready for.As I sat in the hospital room, I glanced at Daunte. For two weeks, he lay there unmoving. The wounds had healed, and there was no trace of a bullet. The doctors couldn't figure out why he was not waking up; every day was torture. I had opted to sta

From Alessia's POVAs I lay there, lost in the depths of sleep, a gentle murmur reached my ears. The sound was delicate and comforting, instantly stirring a sense of familiarity within me. My heart quickened its pace, anticipation coursing through my veins. Gradually, I allowed my eyes to flutter open, hoping to be greeted by the visage of a loved one. However, instead of a familiar face, I found myself bathed in the ethereal glow of the moon's radiant complexion. A shiver cascaded down my spine. A mix of awe and trepidation enveloped me. Suddenly, the voice resounded once more, this time with greater clarity and proximity. "Alessia," it beckoned, leaving no room for doubt or disbelief. At that moment, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was no mere figment of my imagination but a tangible reality calling out to me.I inquired, my voice trembling, "Who's there?" Suddenly, a gentle giggle resonated from the shadows. I swiftly pivoted, only to be captivated by the presence of a
