บททั้งหมดของ A Monster's Mute Bride.: บทที่ 11 - บทที่ 20

I woke up three times last night, and it wasn't because I couldn't find comfort in the bathtub. It was because of the nightmares that would poison my sleep.I kept trying to get some rest but each time I close my eyes and sleep tried to drag me in to the deep, I would startle awake, soaked with sweat and trembling with fear.By the time I woke up for the third time, I realized that trying to sleep was useless. So, I decided to leave the bathroom. The amount of care it took for me to unlock the door was unimaginably challenging. I couldn't afford waking Elijah up with the loud click of the lock. When I walked out of the bathroom though, Elijah was not in bed.Even though it was dark in the room, the glow coming from the bathroom provided enough light for me to see that there wasn't anyone laying on the bed.I glanced towards the walk in closet to see that it was wide open, but Elijah wasn't in there either. With a frown, I walked to the middle of the bedroom and wondered what to do nex

I fished my notebook out of my pocket.'It was you last night?' I wrote before I tossed the notebook to Cane.Cane effortlessly caught the notebook with his right hand and read what I wrote before he nodded his head."Yes, it was me." He replied with an apologetic smile. "I... tend to sleepwalk sometimes. I don't know what's happening at that very moment, so I always check the security feed every morning."A small mischievous smile crawled up his lips."The cameras might have caught you running like there was a ghost chasing after you." He chuckled.Oh, how embarrassing.I was too scared at that moment. My one goal was to run away from the tall figure and make my escape. Cane tossed the notebook back to me."It's best if you avoid taking a walk at night by yourself. The mansion might be safe but it has its own flaws, and sadly, I'm one of them." He warned.I nodded my head as I shoved my notebook and pen in to the front pocket of my hoody. The woman, Amy returned with many dresses dr

Elijah Smith...I could feel how nervous Ella was beside me. Everytime someone approached us to have a conversation with me, she would shrink further behind me, trying to get unnoticed by everyone. And to her credit, she did go unnoticed except for when her family members approach.I could tell that she has a very shy nature to her but with how her own sister didn't want her here at the dinner party and how her mother kept shooting her a fake smile, I wondered if she was shy or was just unwanted to the point that she was convinced that she was shy.I've been carefully watching everyone around the hall and I did manage to catch her mother glancing our way. The loving gaze was no longer in her eyes as she stared at Ella from a distance.I could tell that there was a heavy tension between the Williamsons. I've always wondered why I never saw the other twin before Custo passed away. Now, I have an idea that maybe they were just hiding her. Why? That, I do not know. It did manage

Elijah Smith...I led Ella out of the Williamson's Mansion with her hand in mine.Ella didn't complain as I pulled her out through the front door, which was a surprise. I assumed she would want to stay here much longer.I let go of her hand when we got to the car and unlocked the doors before I hopped in to the driver's seat.I waited for Ella to get in to the car and put her seatbelt on before I fired up the engine.Ella sat tense beside me as I drove away from the Mansion. Her head was turned towards the window, blocking the gorgeous view of her eyes...Wait, what?I glanced at her with a frown before I returned my eyes to the road.Gorgeous was not the word I was aiming at.My phone rang, thankfully distracting me from my thoughts. I tapped the earbud in my right ear to answer the call."Are you out?" Cane asked."Yes." I replied."So, what did you find?" He asked again."Nothing much." I replied."Nothing much? You made me work overtime for nothing much? I had plans tonight

I sat at the empty dining table, moving food around the plate as my appetite has been a little low.The image of Elijah's scars have been popping in my head ever since I saw them about a week ago.The pattern and the map the scars created were engraved in my head. In the last week, I've had close to zero interactions with Elijah and Cane, and even Dalinda.I wasn't too sad about not being in the same room as the two men or in the same bed as Elijah. After that one night I definitely felt his arm around me, Elijah hasn't come to bed. And I have to say, I was enjoying a few hours of comfortable sleep. But not having Dalinda around reminded me how lonely I was. The old woman was a very great companion. I loved hearing her talk about the times of her youth. But lately, I've been seeing her for maybe a few minutes before she would suddenly disappear.I glanced over my shoulder towards the open kitchen and watched as Dalinda and her husband Milton had a very hushed conversation. I couldn'
